Poor Dennis. He was a great character. From the beginning he was always good, he was nice to Dot and chatted with her, then got the kids that nicked her purse. Tragic character really and didn't deserve the ending he got 😞
The performances that Letitia Dean and Nigel Harman delivered in the episode where Sharon confronts Dennis over killing Dalton were impeccably sensational. It demonstrates the drama between two surrogate siblings who fall in love and how their portrayals can deliver their finest performances in a matter of seconds.
Ohhh the nostalgia! 😍 Sharon and Dennis, Kat and Alfie, Grant and Tiffany, Sonia and Jamie, Saskia and Steve, Pat and Frank, Peggy and Frank, Ronnie and Jack, Bianca and RicKEEEYYYYYYYYY! The list goes on! They don’t make em like they use to! 🥹😭
The actor wanted to leave the show as he said it is a lot of work and it was starting to drain him. I wish they'd have just had him and Sharon elope and raise their son, though. I thought the way he died was ridiculous anyway
@@aprilshowers2165I can imagine the actor started to blend his real life with the characters. Happens to actors all the time. It’s probably too much to handle. Miss him though 🥹 Very good actor!
I wish they had explored Dennis' child (and s*x) abuse storyline more. They touch on it briefly and Den uses it against him and that's why he loses his temper in the pub. But they don't really mention it again. I wish we was him tell Sharon about it and explain that's why he lost it in the pub and accidently hit her. Dennis clearly can't bring himself to admit it so locks it inside. He needed to work through it.
@@shoaibashfaq8985You don’t see it in the videos uploaded on this playlist, but there is an episode where there is a scene that Den goads him about being sexually abused in care and when he realised it struck a nerve as it was true, he pushes it further. Not longer after, Dennis launches at him at the pub where he inadvertently punched Sharon.
I didn't realise this storyline started so early after Den's return. Den went from hero to zero throughout 2004. If it wasn't for the actor's scandal, would the writers not have destroyed his character the way they did, then killing him off? I'm sure there would've been plenty of storylines to keep him there years.
Yeah they were planning on giving him a counselling storyline in 2006 to find out why he's so obsessed with Sharon, apparently. Begs the question though would we have seen Max, Bradley, Jack Branning if Den, Dennis, Sharon, Alfie, Kat didn't leave?
@@gh0510 if they were planning it, brave as Den seemed more action than redemption in a psychiatrist's office. I'd much rather have had Den longer than the mass arrival of the Brannings. Still, they have had great storylines.
@@00kirbyd I'm sure we still would've got the Brannings if Den didn't leave. I reckon by 2007 Den would've become a side character like Dot with less plots for a while

For Den and Vicky it was their children and siblings so it was strange. Dennis and Sharon weren't raised together nor were they blood and they fell in love. The question was why Den cared more about his adopted daughter Sharon than bio kids Dennis, Vicky and Zac later. He tried everything to keep Sharon and Dennis apart but it was Phil who caused his death. Sharon, Dennis and Vicky in the end were getting away from Den. He wasn't really there for them. Dennis was in turmoil as Sharon was the only one he really loved, he loved Vicky as a sister but Sharon as a wife. Den using his childhood turmoil against Dennis was cruel, what happened to Dennis to make him cruel. Sharon having Den as a dad shouldn't shock her with what Dennis did. He loved her but had his pride, he wasn't begging for her back if she didn't want him. In the end they came back together, Den's ruse didn't work

OMG NEW SHANNIS VID DROPPED🎉
Love Dennis💜💜😅 cringey teenager i was when he came on eastenders soooo good looking😂😂😂👏👏💜
Why did they kill him off in 2006? Should have kept him on the show or let him leave with Sharon

It’s touched on in the scene between him and Den just before he inadvertently punched Sharon in the pub. It’s not shown in this playlist.
