Whenever we are tasked with redesigning a better website experience, one of questions we would typically ask our clients is, "What exisiting user behaviour data can we work with?". Because it is so important to get an idea of context on the current state of the product.
One of the easiest to set up and the most accessible user data that we usually work with comes from none other than Hotjar, which is an online tool that can help you better understand user behaviour, so you can make the right changes, improve user experience and grow conversions. The best part is, it is available for everyone to use, no matter if you're a solo freelancer, an agency or part of an internal team structure.
In this video, we walk you through the key features that makes Hotjar unique - User Heatmaps, Recording, Feedbacks and Surveys. Great video- what software do you use to create the smooth screen recordings?
Thank you Andreas. For the screen recording itself, we just used QuickTime screen record that comes with the Mac OS. This then gets compiled into the video edit.
