just for you it depends on the direction of rotation of the armature on which we put the three coils....in such a way they separated from each other by 120 degree angle......if you consider clock wise rotation......you got one type of condition....and if you consider anticlockwise rotation...you got another type of condition....but in this derivation sir considered anticlockwise .....and generally we considered anticlockwise rotation.....I hope you got some idea.......but good question😄😄😄

because in star network line voltage(Vbr) leads phase voltage(Vrn) by 30 degrees. But here it's Vrb not Vbr that's why it's lagging.I hope you understood. :)
