- Window Air conditioner Unit Troubleshooting. This is a Haier 5,000 BTU air conditioner that the fan has stopped working. In this video I show how I trouble shot it and the out come.

Brilliant video... and the other comment was right, you do sound quite a bit like John Wayne. lol. i didn't understand a single thing you did but i was FASCINATED (and slightly jealous) of your knowledge! i cleaned my Frigidaire window unit at the end of last season because Frigidaire doesn't put enough drain holes in the bottom so it's a black mold factory. now that it's nice and clean the stinkin' fan doesn't work. ugh. it's 12,000 BTU and was pretty expensive so i'm pissed that i turned it into a door stop. dangit!!
Not good idea to wiggle wire ends back and forth unless you plan to replace the now loose fragile female connector!
The air conditioner is not advertised as fitting a 16 inch window, but as the body of the air conditioner is just under 16 inches if you leave off the accordion brackets it fits perfectly.

I have the same ac but digital version internals are all the same. ordered a replacement motor that was recommended for my model but it doesn't fit correctly all the screw holes are a little off and the wiring harness was moved so it doesn't fit nice in the blower frame -.- I had to take apart the ild motor and I'm just going to swap the bearings myself and clean it up maybe silicone all the little holes on the thing so it doesn't get any moister in it.. they keep making small changes so you can't order parts for these things.

This is probably a dumb question.... But how did you know the condenser was working?
he means the compressor is working ..the condenser is only a coil it has no moving parts
I have the same problem as this man, I can hear the compressor making the normal noises. The exception is, the Artic King $125 window AC I have does not ever blow air, ie the fan is not kicking on.
You can just bypass the protection switch if that's all that is bad
You should repair your air conditioner. Before you buy a new air conditioner.

I have a Haier window unit air conditioner I want to change the electrical plug can someone tell me why is the neutral wire and Hotwire designed like cable coaxial like television cable does it matter when connecting to a regular electrical plug
Hello! I have the same unit, the fist time i start the unit the fan is off the condenser is on, after a few seconds I turn the unit off, then when i turn it back on nothing works no fan, no compressor sound, nothing, like if the unit is not even plugged in, would this be a capacitor issue? Thanks!

Means it's locked up...or turning wrong direction

I bought a general electric 6150 BTU I got scammed the air conditioner constantly turns off and on whenever you plug it in how could you fix that so I could get rid of it and get my money back
I am search far and wide for the black plastic piece that is attached to the fan motor and condenser coil. Do you happen to know what the factory calls that particular item? I went to encompass.com but they have no pictures of the items and I'm not 100% sure of the item name.
If it's rectangular in shape it's probably a switch.
It blows till compressor supposed to engage then everything stops and just buzzes and if I set to just fan nothing etheir

@@kimasim1 I bypassed the computer and went straight,no relay,so it always on....and put timer on plug to pretend relay30 min on 30 min off so it don't ice up still going strong
When I turn my window unit on, the fan doesn't kick on. It only makes a loud humming sound. Could this be the motor/compressor?
The Capacitor could be bad (If the fan turns easily by hand and is not frozen that way)
No if the fan does t turn it’s not the compressor. The compressor is a complete different thing

Can you direct me in the direction I need to be looking? My Window ac turns on but shuts off within about 10 seconds, I unplug it and it does the same thing every time

Either reset your thermostat or reset at the plug. Should have those tester buttons.

Why in days hot or sunny day my air conditioner don't work good blows warm
Day around 65 degrees work good but days hot more or summer don't blow colder air
@@LucasMoraes-rx9lg are both coils clean?..the condenser coils outside have to be cleaned from inside out
@@LucasMoraes-rx9lg clean coils from inside air conditioner. Clean behind filter but go in from inside ac. Grime gets caught on fins in the back. They can not be cleaned from the outside. 👍
It's hard on these units to sit in direct sun all afternoon. Try a different window.
@@kimasim1 For my unit, it's on a ledge made specifically for it (I live in a studio apartment). Mine blows warm air when I even set it at 65. I tried notifying maintenance and they just looked at, checked the filter, checked the temperature and then said, "The compressor is overworking due to the heat." That was it. I tried taking it down to clean it, but those things are not light. And it was even worse trying to put it back up on the ledge when it's 6ft off the ground, and I'm 5'8". Cleaned it and all that, but it still didn't fix it.
