@@TheMrMobileYou are one of my favourite UA-camrs btw. Now I know it's not plausible but I would love a podcast ft you, just love your voice and the way you dictate stuff
Thanks for putting into words what I couldn't about what sets him apart. He does so much right making every video amazingly high quality that it's hard to even know where to begin. Every video is a pleasure to watch as it's so masterfully crafted. Mr. Mobile truly is the gold standard of tech UA-camrs.
It's funny; this 'leftovers' video is the one I most enjoy from this channel each year. So much better than the 'award' videos every channel now seems so compelled to release.
You know the biggest appeal to your channel is the unconventional, the bump of the status quo, and your knack for doing things your way when it comes to tech and reviews. I’m happy to hear you focusing on what you want to review, versus what the industry expects you to. Also very exciting to hear When Phones Were Fun coming back. I missed that series. Keep doing what you do best Michael, and I hope you’re doing well behind the scenes as well as on camera!
That teenage engineering recorder is wild and whacky and weird and I LOVE IT!!! I definitely miss the tactility of the past, even if I was just on the cusp of solid state (born 1996). I would adore a full MrMobile video on it! Keep up the great work Michael!
I jumped from iPhone to the Moto Razr Plus this year because I didn't need one app that was only on iOS anymore. I've loved every minute of it. Your review played a huge part in my decision. Keep it up!
I love MKBHD, and LTT is definitely enjoyable, but you, sir, are my favorite. Your videos are so refreshing to watch. The quality is at the same level as MKBHD (which has a much larger team), and the script is just the best. You may not have as many subscribers as others, but the tireless work and effort you put into your videos are unmatched.
I loved the sound recorder, also don't you think we need LG to get some weird form factor devices ? I feel the LG Wing (which I use for media consumption) I feel we need weird so we can discover natural, sad we have more competition but like the same as all the other ones
RIP Wing. LG made so many weird choices (and, let's be honest, quite a few mediocre phones) but in retrospect they were so refreshing in their willingness to be different.
I’ve been following you for a long time. All the way back in the PocketNow days. I’ve made many purchases after watching or reading your reviews and recommendations. I haven’t regretted any of them. Your videos continue to be accurate, fair, informative, professionally produced and entertaining. I think this shift will be good for you. Like you (and most likely a lot of your viewers) I have grown less interested in the never ending releases of similar hardware designs year after year. I look forward to your new content and thank you for all the work and good advice you’ve provided in the past.
"The Sony [Xperia] One Mark Five is the best Sony has gotten offering a well-rounded phone." That must be the case, because the Xperia 5 Mark IV* I've owned for almost exactly a year (7 December 2022 purchase, discounted by almost 50%, which isn't surprising) varies from "nice looking but decidedly mediocre" to "barely usable Android handset," with frequent restarts, second-rate UI, and pocket detection that's so bad the advice on the Xperia forums is "If you have to put it in your pocket, try and make sure it's not touching anything." I wondered why Xperias never even approached LG levels of popularity, much less beyond that; now I know why. It's be incredibly hard to recommend it, and I don't think I'd get another Xperia even with a +50% discount, as long as there's any other Android handset with a headphone jack (and even then, maybe not). *Also, terrible names that make Xbox and 3DS naming conventions sound good.
Your ebike review was one of my favourites of your recent work. Happy to hear you'll be doing more things like that! Would love to see more non-phone mobile tech like that.
Looking forward to the 2024 videos, and I'm glad to hear that you're going to focus more on videos that you want to make and that "When phones were fun" makes a comeback!
You are the only tech youtuber that I left the notifications on and watch all videos, just because you’re so good. Keep it up and thanks for another year of amazing content. Really looking forward to your new more “personalized” videos and the comeback of “when phones were fun”.
I love this man Every other tech youtube seems to think all new innovation is good innovation I love his hesitancy of some features the concerns of the everyday user This is why he's my favorite That and the when phones were fun Boy do I love old tech
When you started this channel in 2016, I remember I really enjoyed the concept of having the when phones were fun and also the mobile lifestyle with travel and etc. Bringing the focus on this fun stuff It's really awesome to hear
You are so enticing that I couldn't close the video when you started the sponsor segment even though I wanted to. Again, idk why but you are one of the very few creators whose videos I don't watch at a faster playback speed. Kudos to being enchantingly enticing and congratulations on completing another MOBILE year!🙌🏼
Very excited for 2024 and your never ending nomicon on out of this world tech, Mr. Mobile! I recently worked for a bike assembly company, so your trek across the upper east coast was a perfect opener going into said job, for my insight on e-bikes, that is. Been a solid subscriber for about 5 years strong now. Cant wait to see how the "quintessential" smartphone especially changes, or digresses, within that time. Cheers to a new year! 🍾
Not only you, but also us viewers will notice when you don't feel as excited for a product or review. Quality over Quanity anytime. Keep making videos that excite you :)
"Yeah, whatever!" Seriously Michael, you are doing great work and I encourage you to follow your creative North Star. We'll always be here to root you on! Have a great holidays!
My 1 V is the best tech I bought this year. It always keeps up with what I throw at it, and bonus points for the headphone jack. Didn't know I missed it so much !
Michael, I've been a subscriber of this channel for a few years now. Out of many other tech-focused channels I'm subscribed to, gotta say, more often than not I tend to spend my limited free time watching your videos. The reason is - it finally hit me with this video - you are a really good writer. What you do is proper quality tech journalism. Keep up the good work! And if you stumble upon this comment - I would love to hear your thoughts on why and how you use your messengers of choice. Perhaps, one day you'll make a video on that topic? 🤷♂
You're the only mobile YTr I enjoy listening to. I love how you prepare your script. It's like when I read my books, they do tell a story. Grow deeper Mr. Mobile.
Hey Mr. Mobile I’ve been a long time viewer of yours from before you were Mr. Mobile and I’m hear to tell you, you do you man. You’ve got everything you need to stand out as much as the fine pieces of tech that you enjoy reviewing. I always find it entertaining and I learn something from your reviews especially when it’s stuff that either isn’t something that I’ll buy or something I didn’t even know existed. I’m hear for this change man you got this and I’ll still be here to support you. ❤
I'm always say, when it comes to tech reviews, Mr. Mobile will always get my personal Best in Writing. The way you write your reviews etc is so smooth, precise, easy to understand, and creative
I love the scripts of your videos. I love how meticulously you craft them. My interests in tech AND the English language AND the American accent mean that I find your videos absolutely engrossing. They help me improve my English too. I've been a fan of your content since your Pocket Now days.
It is quite evident that during the course of the year, Mr. Mobile's mobility has created at least a 10-pound weight loss. It is easily evident between the footage from earlier in the year versus present day. Not that you needed it, Michael, but if it was intentional and you happen to care, just thought I'd throw some kudos your way. Speaking of kudos, thank you for another year of outstanding, tasteful videos, and most importantly, reviews of products where the sponsor is not the device being reviewed. That is so rare and refreshing in the tech space. A creator giving up his own potential earnings in order to bring the best, most honest content possible to us viewers. Happy Holidays Fisher.
I just got my first smart vacuum for Christmas (I actually put this on top of my Christmas list) I have a big dog who sheds a ton, so I asked for the Eye Vac Pet version. I'm in love with it.
Whilst I appreciate your opinion, the main reason I watch this channel is because of your distinct style and flair. So do what you have to for your creativity and mental health, I'm sure the community supports you. For a suggestion on a challenge/series, I'd love to see you have to cope by relying on different kinds of tech to achieve things/your day. The bike challenge was an example of that, but also something like using Dex and portable set up for your daily work in 2024.
"when phones were fun" is what got me to subscribe. glad to see it will be making a comeback! the content you want to make always ends up being the best content
So happy that you'll be going back to "When Phone Were Fun" This is the main reason I started to subscribe. But all of your videos are amazing, please keep moving along and making great videos
Totally agree! Go for it. Make a travel/tech video. Or something. How you film, script, and edit in the wild. Tour Europe, giving thoughts about each country's tech.
The return of When Phones Were Fun is super exciting, and while I know at least initially it didn't chart super well, your E-Bike trip video was one of the most fun videos I watched all year. Keep doing your thing, you have the skills and it makes the channel a lot more interesting! Thanks for the great videos.
Gah, I was wondering why there hadn't been an Xperia 1 V review. I'm glad to hear your thoughts in this, it sounds like it's probably the biggest step forward for Sony in recent years.
I'am really glad your going back to where phones were fun (really enjoyed it back when you first started your channel). Also would love more collaborations with David Logan (the unloker) I do miss you to together in videos, they were so much fun.
This man is a true pioneer in the tech industry. Your vids are informative and inspired. Well researched and entertaining. Well done Mr Fisher!🎉 And a very Merry Christmas to you. Big fan ☃️
I’m so excited for the next stage of the channel! When phones were fun and your travel experiences are my favorite part of your content, and i love to see a creator that I enjoy focusing on more authentic content. Good luck and I think you have a great plan for next year.
Sir, you are such a class act it is mind boggling! Keep doing what you love, I know I will enjoy all of it as I have since you went solo 7 years ago! Also you are why my current device is a Flip 5, folds are the future and I cant wait to see what 2024 brings to that space!
I always love your videos, but I am so happy to hear you're bringing back the series "when phones were fun." I love those videos so much!! Thx for all the good content for this year, and may 2024 be even better for you and your channel
I am really excited for the future of your channel/work! The things you want to focus on are basically a summary of your content thatI enjoy the most, so a big thumbs up from me and wishing you the best of luck in 2024 and onwards!
I know it didn't get as many views but the 100 miles bike ride was actually one of my favourites this year and encouraged me to look into getting one to ride to work which I'm currently in the process of researching for in terms of route distance parking etc... I'll miss your more common reviews as I know I always come to this channel before pulling the trigger on a device
I enjoy your videos on stranger devices and vintage devices more than the new phones so I’m definitely looking forward to your content next year. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
i miss your biking vid. we need at least just 1 more 😅 it was so relaxing but also interesting to watch. Over the years Ive always been a fan of your review style, narration and camera work
The videos of unique and interesting products in a bunch of segments is why you are one of my favorite creators. Can’t wait for all the lesser-known tech videos next year. BTW, the Govee light systems are very cool, I highly recommend getting it set up.
It has been awhile since I have delved into one of your videos. We all are in this human family and we all know LIFE HAPPENS WETHER WE ARE READY OR NOT. I appreciate your gifting that you are able to be honest, articulate, knowledgeable and the ability to fuse these attributes into a meaningful review. IMO you are one of the best to ever do it. I am not BASHING ANYONE who are able to present specs and or display their knowledge of tech well beyond the average “JOE” like myself, rather I am presenting you to be a reviewer that even at my age 69, can understand what you are saying. I CONSIDER YOU ONE OF THE GOATS OF ALL TIME. Michael, continue to evolve as a reviewer by being no one other than the person God has made you to be. God bless you, your family and friends. Be well Mr Mobile. Take care.
Your 2024 plan sounds great, its exactly the content I watch this channel for. Your writing style is so unique and I feel like thats only possible because you're passionate about you're reviewing, so I hope that doing what you love makes that easier!
I've never missed any of your videos, and I'm here for whatever direction you want to take your channel, Michael. Wishing you a great 2024 ahead! Cheers! //Rick
I'm so happy to hear your 2024 plan. I agree that there are only so many things to say about phones, watches, and laptops that are iterative. Very much looking forward to more of the content that keeps me coming back to your channel. Best of luck next year and happy holidays!
Your thoughtfulness and desire to do more unique things instead of what everyone else is doing, is what I love about your channel. Keep the great stuff coming!
When phones were fun is one of my fav tech segments. I need your channel to do more weird tech stuff cause anyone can review the new iPhone or Samsung or whatever. More stuff like that awesome analog recorder and electric bikes please
I’ve said this many times to other creators. Your best videos are the ones that you enjoy making. We’re here because we loved your style of videos. So you do you! That’s what we’re here for!
I really like your take about the new products on the tech world. In fact, you are the only one that I care to watch when a new Iphone, Galaxy S2X, or other flagship launches. The thinghs that I prefer to see are new tech that helps people stay mobile, and cool old tech. So I appreciate that you like them too.
I do love my Fold 5. I've loved it since day one. I was the perfect market for the device, needed a new phone and I didn't own a tablet. But hot damn, I can't wait for the later iterations of the new kids in town. Competition breeds creativity.
Finally! Been waiting for this "The Leftovers" episode, I bet there's still a bunch of stuff you did not cover. Your channel is my go to for reviews. Congrats on a fantastic year of being the one and only "MrMobile" or Captain2Phones LOL! Cheers man!
I've been a long time fan, Mr. Mobile and I trust your instincts on approaching tech. Btw, you sounded a lot like Van Neistat by the end and I don't know if that was intentional. Great stuff as always, my friend.
United States of Whatever is an amazing song! Also think your channel is unique for what you bring to the table, your style and worldview. I love that you focus on how the tech feels and the hardware looks, at least I think it aligns with my own tastes.
You are totally on the right path, and your curiosity for those alternative interfaces only makes your videos that much more interesting too. The 2D rectangle won't be the i/o very much longer. Hard to say exactly what will be the next pattern, but your open-minded, playful, experimentation will stand you out from a lot of your colleagues (no offense to them). We appreciate your vision and principles for this channel. And stoked to see where you go in 2024!
Hearing about more “When phones were fun” episodes are coming makes me so excited
Will 2023 finally be the year MrMobile is brave enough to undertake the Palm Pre story? Stay tuned!
Yes please those are my favorite episodes
@TheMrMobile you have two weeks left. Good luck!
Agreed, loved that series.
Eagerly waiting for it 😁

Bringing back "When Phones Were Fun" is the best idea ever for this channel. Thats what brought me here in the first place.

Its sad you skipped the Z Fold 5 because I think theyve figured out the screen and hinge durability which is a significant engineering feat in itself.
The videos of unique and interesting products in a bunch of segments is why you are one of my favorite creators. Can’t wait for all the lesser-known tech videos next year. BTW, the Govee light systems are very cool, I highly recommend getting it set up.
Awesome once more. Excited for 2024 Michael, your plan is bang on. When phones were fun.has to be one of my all time faves
I’m coming to nyc from Scotland at end of January for 10 days with my son and I’ll be keeping an eye out for u lol. Happy to buy u a beer man.
+10 xp for the Liam Lynch track! I'll double it if you explicitly reference Sifl & Olly in the coming year!
WHATEVUH 😄
I am happy too see you take this course in 2024. I am not surprised you, of all, took such a bold step. We will watch every episode.
Great video. Your reviews are exemplary, especially the ones about old phones. It's good that you're using the tech while traveling.
I’ve said this many times to other creators. Your best videos are the ones that you enjoy making. We’re here because we loved your style of videos. So you do you! That’s what we’re here for!
Mont Blanc Platinum pens and the wallet/notepad are my favorite timeless accessories.
Excited for the news man. That was my favorite stuff from you this year. Let's go!
The video from you I enjoyed the most was the 100 mile electric bike ride/review. More on those kind of tools will be great.
I do love my Fold 5. I've loved it since day one. I was the perfect market for the device, needed a new phone and I didn't own a tablet. But hot damn, I can't wait for the later iterations of the new kids in town. Competition breeds creativity.
Hi Michael! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
Love your new direction. Adventure and review what you like! Excited to see the 2024 videos!
Finally! Been waiting for this "The Leftovers" episode, I bet there's still a bunch of stuff you did not cover. Your channel is my go to for reviews. Congrats on a fantastic year of being the one and only "MrMobile" or Captain2Phones LOL! Cheers man!
Very happy to see you'll be focusing more on stuff that interests you! Looking forward to your videos in 2024!
Great recap! Happy holidays!
That is awesome Mr. Mobile. I think your personal/specific projects are very interesting to watch.
Cant wait for some more When Phones Were Fun videos. This is one of my favorite tech channels for both old and new.
Please do not apologise for making the videos you want to make, we will watch whatever you choose to put out!
MrMobile,
How about widening to other mobile tech categories as well?
- Glass wearables
- handheld PCs
- blenders, smart mugs
- drones
Great year-end video! Hope you have a great 2024 🎉
