Visual transformation was fascinating to watch. Nice to see you experimenting with untested restoration techniques. Decals complemented another stunning model. Well done Neil. 👍
Thanks Martin , I wasn’t sure how the chrome was going to be , worked out ok I thought , yes I use a lot of micro sol , especially red it’s good stuff Janet got me the glossy accent from a craft shop it work great 👍🏻👍🏻
Corgi Bob Willis did this one. He didn't paint it it, but spent a few hours polishing the raw casting. I did that with a few that I've done. Like you said, laçquering has a reverse effect of dulling th finish
Dramatic improvement! She looks really nice now 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
That was a nice, gentle introduction to my day, thank you!
Thank you glad you enjoyed it, very happily to ease you into the day 👍🏻👍🏻

Super restoration 👍👍👍👍
Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Cracking job Neil and thanks for taking part m8....PJ;)
Excellent restoration!!! Very surprised to see yellow as the original base under the chrome. Great decal and detail work
Thank you , yeah I was a bit surprised when the banana yellow came out of the caustic 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice work. The chrome paint looks really good on that. It's not easy to get a nice finish like you got on the Simca.
Thank you, I was pleased with how it turned out
Great job Neil! ✌️😎
Cheers Don , it’s one way to get out of painting bumpers 😃

Thank you Michael, not bad for a spam can 😂👍🏻👍🏻
Wow you did a Fantastic job on that...Good idea on the headlights..and yes I think a clear coat would have made it go dull... cooooooool....
Cheers Brian , glad you liked it thanks for the support too mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Brian, glad you liked it I appreciate your support 👍🏻👍🏻
I use White Glue for lens covers - you can build up a supply of these by being careless, and scraping them off your cutting mat! 😵💫 Nice job, Sir!
thanks mate, I hadn't thought about mining the cutting mat for resources 👍👍
Killer restoration! Subd!
Thank you , just subscribed, looking forward to watching you stuff too 👍🏻👍🏻

Yes I pondered a few ways to get a chrome effect “chrome “ paints are often disappointing
@Hellboy 59's die cast Wetwurx know what you mean buddy. I don't always get molotov right either. Certainly wouldn't work on a car body
@@ianhow100 I must say that “mirror” paint from Stuart Semple seems the best I’ve tried so far and it lasts ages
@@hellboy1959 sounds interesting
I've got something like this, but it's a 1955 Mercedes. Looks like when you started the project.
Trying to mimic chrome on a car is pretty challenging isn’t it
@@hellboy1959 Nothing beats electro-plating.
@@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage yeah we are mimicking at best really
@@hellboy1959 It's all up to the shininess of the silver paint.
