Emilee Petersmark is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter who is best known as the co-lead singer of the very successful four-piece, indie-folk band The Crane Wives.
Emilee and I can’t really pin down how we came to know each other, but we don’t let that slow us down. In this great conversation, Emilee breaks down how to survive in the music business, the grind of touring as a band, the craft of songwriting, as well as discovering her sexual identity in the mid 2000’s.
We also are very excited to share Emilee’s exclusive *STUDIO SESSIONS performance of her solo song “Empty Spaces.” It’s a beautiful performance that perfectly highlights her raw and emotive energy. We couldn’t be more thrilled that Emilee agreed to sing it for us.

@@HJ-wl1yr She and her band mates are nice kids. Their parents are part of my generation and it's nice to hear and see people so young play the music that sounds a lot like the stuff I grew up with. Underappreciated no, unknown are the Crain Wives they're trapped in a vacuum in Michigan.. Lightning in a Bottle..
She is amazing. I cannot wait for this plague to be over, so I can travel from SC to MI and see The Crane Wives perform live.

I'll go first: I think this song is a little bit like The Well. Either a toxic relationship with a parent or a significant other, feeling like you can't say what's on your mind or share how you really feel, and also feeling the need to escape while you can. What do you think?
