i was a flag holder for the APOPKA (not osceola) HIGH SCHOOL band at the 35:00 mark. it was an honor carry the american flag and be close enough to see and listen to one of the greatest president's of all time.
Just found out this was here - thanks SO MUCH! I too was in one of the bands and never thought I would be able to show my family this event from my youth.
my dad is right there in the trumpet section. He tells me stories how they had a sniper scoping them the entire time and were instructed to not raise their trumpets too fast because it could be perceived as a threat. They also weren’t told about the official plans for the parade until a day before and had to sleep there locked in a room probably because they couldn’t risk someone going out knowing the plans for the parade. Cool stuff man.
47:27 I'd like to say that Walt Disney had many successes, as did Col. Lindbergh. They had to see a need and a goal, take failures and learn from them, and then go at it again. Success is often built with failure. learning, determination, and resting when needed. Walt Disney knew that and a whole bunch more. He also was a wonderful team-builder.

Thank you for posting. I had the privilege of being in this parade in the Bloomfield Bobcat band. Best time
My sisters were in Brunswick Marching Blue Devils band. My sister Jenny played trumpet and my sister Jill was a majorette
Thank you so much for posting!! I had the privilege of marching (Holland High School - we wore wooden shoes). What awesome memories!

Thank you for posting this. I do not remember this happening, and I was in college at that time.

Thank you Ron Reagan for saving the U.S.A. The angels have carried you to heaven but we will always love you and be at liberty because of your heart.
