Lou has had many great bands, from the Rock and Roll Animal band to his late '70s and later the group with Tony Smith and Fernando Saunders but I think that this might have been his best group. Every musician is great and all are highly respected by their peers. Fred and Fernando are great together. Joel
YEAH LOU YOU DIED THE SAME YEAR AS MY MAMA IN AN ACCIDENT I MISS YOU BOTH I WAS 3 TIMES AT YOUR CONCERTS IN LJUBLJANA SLOVENIA AND ENJOYED REST IN PEACE YOUR MUSIC LIVES ON
Set List: Sweet Jane Waiting for the Man Martial Law Don't talk to me about Work Women Waves of Fear Take a walk on the Wild Side Turn out the Light New Age Kill your Sons Satellite of Love White Light/White Heat Rock & Roll
You really were at Lou's mercy seeing him live...he could have a bunch of hacks backing him, or Hunter and Wagner...and in his case, Happy Lou, or the Fuck-You Lou. I saw all these at least once.
01:20 sweet jane 05:36 waiting for my man 09:46 martial low 13:39 don't talk to me about work 15:59 i love women 20:10 waves of fear 23:36 walk on the wild side 28:16 turn out the ligth 31:17 new age 36:11 kill your sons 41:56 satelite of love 47:52 white ligth/white heat 51:50 rock'n roll
I like the simple pure rock sound. Not the 10 cord song with meaningless speed solos. Lou said one cord your rockin, two cords your pushing it, three cords your getting into Jazz.❤
Criminal that Lou wouldn't allow Quine a single guitar solo when he's lightyears ahead of Lou in that area. If anything, Lou is trying (simplistically) to imitate Quine in the solos.
Quine purely wanted Lou to keep the music alive, from what i’ve read there was some heat because of Lou always taking the reigns but they were very close until Lou had passed

I had taped this off Channel 4 over 30 years ago or so. Robert from Voidoids was magic.
So good...
Yes! I taped this as well and watched it til the tape wore out. I think it was around 87/88 and was presented by the late great Charlie Gillett.
Me too, wore out the VHS, was the shit then and now!
🦇 Lou is an American 🇺🇸 legend ❤😎🦇💊🎸
Happy birthday, Lou.

Not too sure about the VoiceOver in the beginning!
Anyhoo, Quine is Sublime...
You know you have an awesome band when Hunter S Thompson is playing lead guitar
Yuh
I WILL TAKE A WALK TO A WILD SIDE I AM REALY A WILD CHILD
Tis a shame there is no video of the Live In Italy album because that is way better.
I own the Live in Italy CD and yes, it us awesome. The Some Kinda Love / Sister Ray medley f#@!n rocks!
Ok, seems like there is video of Live In Italy but it's just terrible quality here on the tube
Air guitar maestro at the 52 min mark
I DO NOT HAVE LOVE MY OLD SHEPHERD DOG ROCKY WHO DIED TWO YEARS WAS FAITHFULL AND HE UNNCONDICIALY LOVED ME AS NO OTHER MEN IN MY LIFE
I don't know why he reminds me of frying in the 80s.
Criminal that Lou wouldn't allow Quine a single guitar solo when he's lightyears ahead of Lou in that area. If anything, Lou is trying (simplistically) to imitate Quine in the solos.
He plays several in this show, and ask yourself who Quine was influenced by in his style....if you guessed Lou's solos in VU you'd be right
Quine purely wanted Lou to keep the music alive, from what i’ve read there was some heat because of Lou always taking the reigns but they were very close until Lou had passed
@@MrPaparabitQuine died quite awhile before Lou did. Like nine years earlier.
49:46 oh?
One of the foulest human beings that have ever walked the Earth?
People who ask dumb questions?
Easy narrator. 😂
