A positively charged particle which is moving can be thought of as an electrical current.
Any current that is placed within a magnetic field will experience a force (the motor effect).
This flashcard tutorial explains what will happen to a charged particle moving through a magnetic field.
One detail which I haven't mentioned in this tutorial is that the force experienced by the moving charge is given by the equation:
F = Bqv
where:
... B is the magnetic field density (in Tesla),
... q is the particle's charge (in coulombs),
... v is the particle's velocity (in m/s).
