  • taking a break after getting burnt out trying to record 4 albums at the same time, this is the track that got me into Death Metal, wouldn't be where i am today without it. thought i'd make a quick improvised vid on it.
    Warwick MIK Corvette Fretless 6
    Darkglass AO900v2
    Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor
    ended up speeding the song to be about 110% faster but that's just to get the 1998 demo track intro and main song to blend.

    The fretless bass in Death is so frickin good. Check out the fade out to The Philosopher. You're doing amazing work here, Kai. Love the bass, I want one!

    One of my all time favorite songs, off of one of my all time favorite albums. Hard enough with everything on your side, but to go the extra step and play this clean with a fretless. HUGE bonus points. Sick work. Chuck would be proud 🤘💀🤘 -Best of luck on your music and your channel, and much support from one player to another. Huge 👍's up!

    i love that you can slide harmonix on fretless

    • @michaeljahn4501
      @michaeljahn4501 9 місяців тому

      I think the slides you mean are artificial harmonics. They're "fretted" even on fretless, i..e. a left hand finger pushes the string down on the board while the right hand creates a harmonic via an artificial splitting point on the string. This you can slide. (Natural) harmonics stay where they are, regardless of frets or no frets, because the string is never pushed down.

    That pattern at 20seconds, can you play that slow on a fretted bass and send it to me? 👀 I see everyone doing it and nobody will slow it down enough for me to pick up. They either stack it too heavily for me to see what's going on or play it too fast and then go on to some other widdly widdly guitar player stuff 😂🤣

    • @BassMan-wr3lq
      @BassMan-wr3lq 3 роки тому

      @@lukedoddrell9602 tried it, connection gets weird and choppy. Maybe it'll work from a computer but on my phone it gets weird and choppy. Not to mention I can't see the frets regardless because his fretboard isn't marked 🤷 so problem still not solved lmfao. I got old man eyes, I have a hard enough time trying to figure out what the pattern may be on normal videos because of that damn choppiness

    But why such dark energy?...I just don't get it!!...yeah!right!...I know, when I was a kid I listened to Black Sabbath, it was new and intriging, but I soon grew out of it and started to listen to jazz-fusion and prog!!...but somehow, that stuff continued growing all the way up to "spirit crushing"?...I mean, get over it!!...but yeah, great playing!!...peace!!...
