I noticed you haven’t answered anyone’s questions and hopefully not to let this one go by. Does this unit work with a factory backup camera? And can I add a front camera? Although, I use an iPhone, do I need to have an Android phone to access the built in apps? And can this unit allow for download apps? Thank you.
Dasaita multimedia units have a lot of issues, also their support is insane. I ordered a unit 2 years ago for Nissan - it has a lot of software issues and inconvenient things but the biggest issue is that my unit came with a hardware problem from the factory. Their support at the time suggested me to do a wiring bridge in the motherboard to fix it. I never did the fix, recently I saw that they have a lot of issues similar to mine in their forum and asked if they have a new solution ( some kind of software solution) the response was that I have to buy a new motherboard for 200$ or a new unit for 500$. So I have to live with the problem, or I have to buy a new one with no guarantee that the new one will be ok. At least I did not fall with that suggestion for the hardware fix ( just to mention, the support never told me that the product had a warranty just asked me to mess with the motherboard - which I'm not sure how is not breaking the warranty or maybe that was their idea - to broke it even more myself so they can decline the warranty).
This is a good unit. The best aspect of the unit is that it looks like a factory item in my 2013 Honda. The documentation stinks, and there is a major flaw when it comes to Honda and the steering wheel controls. The buttons on the steering wheel will not work upon first installation. Why ? Because Honda’s OEM bluetooth radio is not part of the factory installed radio and the steering wheel buttons are still connected to the seperate blue tooth radio hiding somewhere. On the 2013 accord, it is hidden under where the original radio was installed. Dasaita does not provide a plug to connect to the telephone steering wheel connections and so I had to do some home made jerry rigging. So if you have a Honda and phone steering wheel controls, you want to do some studying.
I’ve had this for 2 years now and MAN! Truly sucks! There’s soo much wrong with it I don’t know where to begin. 1. 50% chance Bluetooth just won’t connect,CarPlay either. 2. Screen shakes and makes lots of noises no matter how tight it is. 3. Apps always have updates that need Ethernet. 4. Volume steps are too loud volume 1 is already too loud to have a conversation. 5. Sound quality is noticeably bad for sound systems. 6. Way overpriced and I wouldn’t even get it for free. 7. There is a reason AMAZON took off reviews and gave it 1 star. 8. Pauses music with hard bumps. 9. Screen wiring damages overtime with movement and DASAITA will not cover the cost! You need to buy an entire screen replacement. Ask me how I know. 10. Produces a lot of clipping with EQ settings 11. A lot of glare with not much brightness. 12. I’m out $600 and I feel violated. 13. Now I’m going back to a $150 pioneer with no screen what an experience!!!!!!
