- Old Cellular Honeycomb Blind Repair because they were sunfaded and tearing at the folds.
My 25 year old cellular blinds were faded, stained and ripping apart at the seams. I bought new top down cellulars but did not want to throw away the old ones. I took them apart and removed the top half. That left about a foot and a half of rather unstained and good quality blind- good enough for the small basement windows.
Here are the steps I used to shorten the blinds.

excellent, well done demonstration of a very creative way to repair/customize cellular shades. thanks for all your efforts in explaining it clearly!
Thanks great instruction, gave me confidence fixing old HD blinds, i have a couple that are splitting.
I'm scared think I'll buy a new one but if you lived closer I'd bring to you😅
Hello, very informative video! Is it also possible to lengthen these blinds? We have an extra blind that we can use for adding on length.
I don't see how because you would have to splice to horizontal "slats" together. Maybe with contact cement but your would surely see that one darker bar.
How do you get the blind off the window?
On mine there are two small plastic brackets each with one screw fastened to the window frame. On each bracket is one small screw holding a rotating clip that holds the blind into the bracket. These are only visible from the backside of the blind so they are not visible from inside the house.
What brand of glue?
I think the brand is Goo. I use various tubes of it because it dries quickly. Faster than silicone.
