First contact with percentages should be easy to get your head around.
Enter: the equivalents. After doing decimal to fraction equivalents, and fraction to decimal equivalents, this makes a lot of sense. It introduces percent in a way that lets students make math connections.
The key takeaway is that a number over 100= the percent amount. An example is worked, multiple examples are seen on screen to reinforce the thinking. And in the last example, I use a diagram showing a mixed number. So, plenty to go at for students in this one, and ALL of it is easy to take on-board.
