The sense of "realism/grounded" we get from Zhang Hao is probably bcs he fully experienced his 22 years of life "normally". Like he graduated high school, pursued the degree he wanted, then graduated uni and got a teaching certificate as a "normal" guy. He only started being a trainee after all that so his life experience kinda gave him that vibe. Tho even during high school and uni, he was already very popular 😂
@@ashullu We all thought he was gonna get shen xiaoting’d or even worse, Jonghyun’d. From Haobin’s reaction of being p1p2 nominees, I think they also thought Hao was in danger. I’m so glad we were all so worried about the interim not showing Hao that we gaslit each other into thinking he was in major danger. Them not showing Hao worked in our favour and probably got him to #1 or maintained #1.
They also didn’t do the whole 9,10,11 place because of the law where underage people can’t be working past a certain time, so they needed to end the episode quick so they wouldn’t get in trouble for having yujin working past his bed time.
Listen… when Zhang Hao sat in the #1 seat and realized that he actually won and started breaking down… I have not cried like that in a LONG time. I am so happy and proud of him. It’s what made me go “actually, I WILL support ZB1 even if Jay didn’t make it”. I’m so happy that I found the both of you to watch. You are totally must-see tv!
as a Ricky one pick, I was losing hope at every P08, P07, P06 and at P05, I was already about to tweet my sad goodbyes but then P04 happened 😭 His rank really shocked everyone. I think we all underestimated his one pick power. Ricky's korean fanbase steadily rising since he went out to see his ads and met with kfans. I think they saw the real him behind the "young and rich, tall and handsome" persona and love him even more.
For real, the higher the ranks got, the more I lost hope for Ricky then Minhyun went and announced Ricky as #4. The scream I let out was ridiculous. His ranking was a surprise yet wasn't really a surprise looking back through his journey in his show because he was always popular and he was slowly trending upwards in Korean portals. It's amazing, really.

I really thought Hanbin was breaking down after him and Hao were announced for p1 and 2, but not for himself - Im sure trainees saw the interim, Hanbin was p03. There was nearly no way for him to dip to 9 or lower. Since Yujin was also not called, a lot of people were scared Hao will get traditional China treatment and yeet down ranks. I think he started to cry a bit from relief not for himself but that Hao, his bestie, is making it with him.
I like Gyu Vin, but he was not my pick.. however he had me crying when mentioned Ollie, Brian and Yun-seo.. and saying that he was gonna be waiting for the rest of the Yuehua trainees up there.. he was sooooo sweet
As for the group name...who would have thought it has lewd connotations in so many languages!?!?!?!?!?! ZB in Polish is an online term for pervert, means dick in Arabic, and 0 1 signifies top & bottom in Chinese. OMG LMAO.
My only wish was for Zhang Hao and Sung Hanbin to debut together, so whatever else happened, I’m cool with the final lineup. But my heart BREAKS for the rest of the top 18, especially Park Hanbin and Keita. I’m less worried about Jay - I can see him as a successful solo. But Park Hanbin and Keita I think shine the most in a group. They’re all just so talented…
In my opinion, Jay's best bet is to debut in a big company. Talent wise he can add so much on the team but korean doesn't like him. Same with Keita. Going solo is a poor choice unless they are marketed to the international audience. My wish is for Pledis or any Hybe sub label to acquire Jay, Keita and any other rank 10-18 contestants. I can see these boys creating their own music and doing own solo projects

If they wanna do solo stuff they have to debut in a very popular group first. Like Wanna One, Daniel went solo and is popular because he was in Wanna One. And yes, the only chance of Jay and Keita is to be recruited in a big company. They can debut in a nugu company with a new group, but after a few comebacks, they may just disband because the lack of popularity, lack of budget, lack of everything but talent. In my delulu's mind, my impossible dream is that Hybe/Pledis rescued Jay, Keita, Haruto, Wumuti, Park Hanbin, Kum Junhyeon, Yoon Jongwoo and Cha Woongki to make a group together and they have a happy ever after that brings me joy haha
Someone from the audience said that Jay was singing while looking at his mom. All of Jay's fancam during the ballad song really shows that he's just simply so in the moment that he really can't take his eyes off the audience :)
Everyone NEEDS to give Gunwook his flowers!!!! Not only is he hella smart, he volunteered at animal shelters, joined an all girl dance club, and was in Wild Idol where he got recognized by industry professionals (I’m talking Hyoyeon from Girl’s Generation!!! Sungkyu from Infinite!!!! Tiger JK!!!!) and nearly debuted there. He learned how to be confident in Wild Idol where he was scolded that he needed more confident!!! MNET sucked for making him seem way more intense than he ever was during the first episode (literally the music they put on for his scenes, the sound affects, the dark smoke around him???). Also he is SO young and people just ignore it. He’s literally 1 year older than Ollie and got treated totally different. Even when he was in Wild Idol (at age 16 mind you) they made him do a Men’s Health cover shirtless. I truly hope Gunwook happiness because I cannot imagine what that would make me feel if I was in his shoes.
At first I was sad about Jay but imagining all the noonas and their mothers and mother's mothers coming for him if Yujin didn't debut, it became more of a sigh of relief.
i hope you get through this time, even if it takes a while. he was a true light in kpop and in the world, and will be deeply missed as he was massively loved. ❤️
DRIVING WHEN GUNWOOK P05 WAS ANNOUNCED IS CRAZY😭I full on had an out-of-body experience, I was gyuvin and gyuvin was me i let out a blood curdling scream and then was in a state of shock. Seriously did not expect him to be in the final line up the whole episode he looked like he was just there to enjoy himself and perform one last time. The dog union breakup was the most heartbreaking for me the gyuvin, gunwook and junhyeon divorce that happened right in front of my eyes but at least we get gyuwook so i'm not complaining. ALSO P01 HAO???? my second out of body experience he deserves it so much we stan. This is the most perfect lineup for me i love all 9, now just the wait till july...
The way Kuan Jui fell to the floor sobbing reminded me of how wives act when their husbands go to war 😭 He was losing his soulmate (platonic or romantic idk) and it was so sad. Zhang Hao only cries at the eliminations when Kuan Jui isn’t with him 😭💔

Idk why so many people think the eliminated trainees had a chance against Ricky and Gunwook. And definitely not Ricky. He was 5th for both global and Korean votes so his debut was secured. He was almost 200k votes ahead of P05. Gunwook was ahead of P06 by around 40k votes. It was neck and neck from P06 to P12 with less than 10k vote difference between each. 10, 11, 12 were Jay, PHanbin and Keita, they would have to climb over Yujin, Jiwoong, Gyuvin, Taerae and Gunwook first before even coming close to Ricky.
Was literally driving on my way to work when Gunwook was announced, and screamed at the top of my lungs. I am so happy for him!!! He was the whole reason I watched boys planet after seeing him in Wild Idol and I seriously love the group that came out of that show, TAN, but he's got such a better deal here. P.S I live in California and the live shows start at 4:50am for me every Thursday so that'll tell you how long this episode was; nearly 4 hours 😲. Minhyun and the producers were fighting for their lives with this one. I sincerely enjoyed watching ya'lls videos!
I was so worried about Gunwook because he fell out of top 9. I started freaking out, screaming, yelling, hysterically crying for Gunwook. I still can’t get over how talented he was at 16 in Wild Idol. This is a great opportunity for him and I’m so happy with the line up.

He's this weird mix of graciousness and shrewdness - he can tell hard truths in very gentle ways and turn around tricky/charged situations (like how he deflected a request to Ollie to say "Noona saranghae" by suggesting he do "hyung saranghae" cos Ollie was clearly uncomfortable. It still gave the fans a 'moment' without embarrassing either the fan or Ollie). but all this to say, I have became oddly fond of you two and i actually started watching Fantasy Boys just so I could watch and understand your recap series. :P

The journey of Hao and hanbin is mesmerizing, the show was created for them to meet, and I'm not speaking of romantically way or anything, like being centers positions from both group, the personality, similarities ..., became P01 and P02, relate on eo... Maybe that's how Mnet wanted to show their relationship, with the soul mate plot during Here I am, even though they had other friends to relate on, but yeah I'm so glad they debuted together

the reason they had to wrap it up so quickly is because yujin was not allowed to be on tv for much longer sdhksjdsj korean broadcasting laws state that minors can only be on tv until a certain time so if they wanted to announce yujin's position while he was still in the room they had to speed it up a little LMAO

Kim Ji Woong needs one of biggest flower ever. he came so far. His 1st group disbanded under mis treatment with financial support & all managing problem. Then his 2nd group disbanded due to their female boss & her sister sexually misconduct their group memebers while they were performing in Japan. Even after possible 3rd group under MBK failed. He was kept going and keep trying. Now, so many years later He is at his stardom. I'm so happy with my tissues while i'm crying 😂.
Everything rj said about haobin, yes yes and yes. It felt so poetic to have hanbin be the reigning king of number one, but then at the last moment zhang hao got it and they switched places, someone who hanbin has come to love so much, idk there is some real life poetry in that. People reacting to haobin and zhang hao getting po1 was what made me start watching bp even tho I was late lol. I’ve been loving this series guys, thank you so much!
i try not to cry for the finale guess i made it but chile… gunwook speech when he mention junhyeon he said that he might not make it but junhyeon always there to hear him and just like supporting him like you can do it, and gunwook was so happy to just be a friend with junhyeon, and the fact that gunwook only cried for junhyeon he’s not even cried for his debut announcement, im in literal pain watching it the fact that junhyeon left behind alone to see his close friend taerae and gunwook made it, and also taerae debuted alone without his close friend or wake one kids. im so tired about it its been 4 days 🧎🏻
The only reason I was shocked about Yujin making it into the group was bc I literally forgot he existed 😭 sorry to the lad... it's been like this for the entire show idk why my brain wiped his existence from my memory after every episode. He's talented, so like... he deserves the spot! But my only real issue is that he's so young, so I hope the other members are able to protect him from some of the real bad stuff in the industry. I want him to be able to express himself freely :3 Am I devastated that he made it and phanbin didn't? Yes. But I think there have been rumors of wakeone actually making a group out of their trainees, so......... If that comes true I will be at peace lol. Also since phanbin was 11th it hurts a little less. Like oh ok he wasn't as close as I thought :') V excited to support the group though :3 I would've been happy for anyone who made the final lineup bc they all deserve it so much!! Oh and I absolutely love the way we still ended up getting Woonggi Content throughout the final episode. Tbh seeing the eliminated trainees there for the final episode was so lovely. Oh I totally understood the gyuvin hype after the finale too. He moves like he's being puppeteered by an unknown force and I find that incredibly relatable. He was also sitting on the ground in front of the chair and staff had to climb the steps to tell him to Please Use The Chair, and as someone who sits in a dang flatbed hand cart in one of my college classes even though there are PLENTY of chairs to choose from, he is so real for that. (Sorry for the sudden 'goro akechi eats rocks' lore)
I was just finishing work when 5th and 4th were announced (European time), for Gunwook I was still in my office, which thankfully is pretty soundproof, but for Ricky I was already fully in public, but I still let out a scream of surprise 😅

Super happy Jiwoong made it especially since he is a BL actor. I warmed up to Gyuvin during his speech, and overall do like the line up. A bit sad for Jay and Keita, but absolutely devastated PHanbin didn’t make it in. The clips online of him crying at the end just broke my heart and his letter talking about he couldn’t sleep and spent the night at the Han River is so sad. Hope he debuts soon a good company and group. Will be following the group though and praying for Zhang Hal’s introverted self in a group of extroverts 😂

I had absolutely zero interest in boys planet until your tiktoks came across my fyp and I instantly knew I had to dive into this world. Almost everything I knew about these trainees came from yall (oops) but it made the experience ten times better and to this day I have yet to watch a full episode. I felt the haobin rant DEEP INTO MY SOUL bc we all know what we know and we all saw what we saw 👀👀 the girls who get it, get it. I can’t believe I’m gonna stan this group just bc one random weekday I saw sung hanbin dance to call me mother and I immediately knew I had to follow this girlie’s career for forever. I actually knew that matthew and gunwook had a HUGE support in russian speaking community, but the fact that they were the only two ones whos fan videos (from the ones that were shown) were made by russian speaking people gets me everytime As a russian I can confirm that we love bears and sunshine Btw I woke my cat up three times with my screaming during the finale (my three kids taerae, gunwook and matthew made it I still can't believe), and when matthew was announced as top three I screamed on such a high pitch I've literally never heard such a high note from myself. And my cat got up from my legs, came to my face, and started meowing as if she was asking if I was okay. I hugged her, kissed her little furry forehead, said "we did it baby", and broke down completely it was my first time ever crying bcs of a survival show. yes the name is silly but it's kpop like i fully expect every band name to be something i can never say aloud ever. on the tomboy episode zhang hao told us gunwook was cute and he was so right!!! i didn't get gyuvin on the show but knowing zb1 now, like, if there was no gyuvin who would be the team crybaby? who would be the team troll? every good kpop group needs one of him lol. same with ricky like in watching bp i was shocked that he got the support that he did bc he didn't get a lot of screentime comparatively but he is truly turning out to be one of the funniest members of the group. the haobin (b)romance story arc was incredible television and i'm so happy for them.
i really like the lineup of zb1 except for the fact that my one pick was junhyeon… today’s my first day of not crying about him tho!!! and i think he and the other redstart trainees are doing a good job of capitalizing from bp999 and will have bright futures ahead of them like their zb1 counterparts!!!!

Aw, it’s the Boys Love Boys Planet finale. 😢 I have really enjoyed recapping each episode with you both. I felt like I wasn’t watching this by myself and your videos have been my therapy sessions every week. Thank you so much putting so much thought and effort into this every week. Gunwook has been my one pick since the first episode and been dying for bright concept Gunwook because I knew everyone would love him. He was so versatile in Wild Idol too. He was amazing in Jelly Pop along with Zhang Hao. I have it on repeat. Gunwook’s whole announcement had me hysterically crying. His reaction, hugging Hanbin and Zhanghao, unprepared speech, thanking everyone who has helped him, him crying thanking Kum Junhyeon, just so perfect. Validating why he won all those awards for speech/debate. When Zhang Hao was announced for 1st, I broke down in tears. He was genuinely surprised he was first and when he said, “am I dreaming” I completely lost it. I am so excited for their KCON performance, debut and journey to be ZeroBaseOne. They are going to be such a special group.

My 3 picks were Matthew, Phanbin and Keita. I’m really happy for Matthew but I don’t see myself following the group without my two other picks in it. But I want to thank you guys for making BP so much more interesting to watch and for being so positive and partial. I’ve watched another UA-camr who picked Matthew as his fave initially and instantly bashed him after the evil editing. It made me realise how shallow one can be. I think ZEROBASEONE is a very fitting name for the group that spawned from the gayest survival show in herstory, so I personally love the name 😂 Also, ZB apparently means this piece of anatomy 🍆in some language(s), so ZB1 is just as good(?) of an option to call them 😅

I didn't get the gyuvin thing but people said watch the fancam and i got it the way he dances is so beautiful the en garde fancam is like a whole masterpiece For me this time i was more focusing on singing so other than kuanjui and sung hanbin maybe park hanbin too i didn't focus much on dance but i focused more on singing I do think he does need to improve on singing and rapping i think he is just not used to doing both together but his voice is good but he will improve

I feel like I had a similar reaction to Gyuvin as you guys. Like, I knew who he was throughout the show, I knew he had skills, but I wasn't ever drawn to him and didn't fully understand the hype. Now I get it, now I'm seeing his charms. I feel bad for taking this long to get pulled by Kim Gyuvin but I also feel like Mnet didn't fully showcase his personality (the beagle-like actions, him doting on Yujin, etc) until this episode. Dont' get me wrong I didn't dislike him or anything, there was just other trainees I was more pulled towards. And his reactions to everyone really sealed the deal, can't wait to see him on variety shows. 22:40 not gonna lie, I've definitely driven to work (it's a 10-15min drive) while the episode was playing on speaker and watched it in the corner of my screen while I worked. BUT I knew I would not be able to focus through a long a** dragged out finale announcement so I took the day off JUST so I could watch the finale without major distractions. #1 and #2 were obviously expected (though I was genuinely worried that Zhang Hao may have to fight for #9 because Yujin hadn't been called yet and I knew he was very popular.) But seriously HaoBin's bond is absolutely precious. I know we joked about this being their wedding and joked about them being boyfriends/mothers/etc but in all seriousness, friendship/brotherhood/romance aside, I'm happy they genuinely found someone who's a source of comfort and pillar of support in each other and I'm so so happy they get to debut together. I don't think we could've written a better story for who should be #1 and #2 than these two. I do hope that people let them be and not try to force any sort of label on them though. BUT ZHANG HAO PULLING P01?!?!!? THAT was THE surprise twist of the series. Like, it was surprising but not at the same time. I feel like we all knew he had the potential to be #1 but didn't think Korea or MNet would let it happen since he isn't Korean and SHanbin has been consistently #1 since the start of the show. It was so cute when he turned to congratulate Hanbin only for Hanbin to tell him HE's #1. And honestly, seeing the way Hanbin sit down at the #2 seat, he looks relieved. I think he's been feeling immense pressure being in the #1 spot that he's more relieved to pass it over to Zhang Hao. Frankly he handled Zhang Hao being #1 better than Zhang Hao did. And Chen KuanJui's reaction was the cherry on top of it all. As much as I love HaoBin bond, HaoJui is something else but just as precious. We don't fully know their past but it's obvious they're very close with each other. Also 35:15 what you said there, 100% agree, you put my thoughts in to words. The thing with the age gap is, I've seen people try to make it a problem but it really isn't? Yes 9 years does seem like a lot but it's not unheard of in Kpop groups, especially ones coming from survival shows. Like both IZ*One and Kepler have a 9 year age difference, Wanna One and X1 have a 10 year difference and UNB had an 11 year difference. Heck I get along better with my youngest sister who's almost 9 years younger than my sister who's only a year younger. Basically what I'm getting at is, I think that age gap is fine and a good big/little bro bond. Plus Jiwoong and Yujin have basically performed every stage together except the Dual position stage, they work well together and don't seem to have an issue. And I really wish there was a few more spots because as happy as I am with this line up, I was surprised Keita didn't make it in after placing within the Top 9 the entire show. But I was SUPER bummed that Jay, who was my #1 pick not only didn't make it in but was 10th place?!?! Idk, that somehow hurt more knowing he was so close. Anyways, sorry for the long post, I'm basically talking as I listen through this episode. Thanks for your entertaining commentary on this series! The sense of "realism/grounded" we get from Zhang Hao is probably bcs he fully experienced his 22 years of life "normally". Like he graduated high school, pursued the degree he wanted, then graduated uni and got a teaching certificate as a "normal" guy. He only started being a trainee after all that so his life experience kinda gave him that vibe. Tho even during high school and uni, he was already very popular 😂

I’m so glad we were all so worried about the interim not showing Hao that we gaslit each other into thinking he was in major danger. Them not showing Hao worked in our favour and probably got him to #1 or maintained #1.
They also didn’t do the whole 9,10,11 place because of the law where underage people can’t be working past a certain time, so they needed to end the episode quick so they wouldn’t get in trouble for having yujin working past his bed time.

as a Ricky one pick, I was losing hope at every P08, P07, P06 and at P05, I was already about to tweet my sad goodbyes but then P04 happened 😭 His rank really shocked everyone. I think we all underestimated his one pick power.
Ricky's korean fanbase steadily rising since he went out to see his ads and met with kfans. I think they saw the real him behind the "young and rich, tall and handsome" persona and love him even more.
For real, the higher the ranks got, the more I lost hope for Ricky then Minhyun went and announced Ricky as #4. The scream I let out was ridiculous. His ranking was a surprise yet wasn't really a surprise looking back through his journey in his show because he was always popular and he was slowly trending upwards in Korean portals. I really thought Hanbin was breaking down after him and Hao were announced for p1 and 2, but not for himself - Im sure trainees saw the interim, Hanbin was p03. There was nearly no way for him to dip to 9 or lower. Since Yujin was also not called, a lot of people were scared Hao will get traditional China treatment and yeet down ranks. I think he started to cry a bit from relief not for himself but that Hao, his bestie, is making it with him.

But Park Hanbin and Keita I think shine the most in a group. They’re all just so talented…

In my opinion, Jay's best bet is to debut in a big company. Talent wise he can add so much on the team but korean doesn't like him. Same with Keita. Going solo is a poor choice unless they are marketed to the international audience.
My wish is for Pledis or any Hybe sub label to acquire Jay, Keita and any other rank 10-18 contestants. I can see these boys creating their own music and doing own solo projects

If they wanna do solo stuff they have to debut in a very popular group first. Like Wanna One, Daniel went solo and is popular because he was in Wanna One.
And yes, the only chance of Jay and Keita is to be recruited in a big company. They can debut in a nugu company with a new group, but after a few comebacks, they may just disband because the lack of popularity, lack of budget, lack of everything but talent.

Everyone NEEDS to give Gunwook his flowers!!!! Not only is he hella smart, he volunteered at animal shelters, joined an all girl dance club, and was in Wild Idol where he got recognized by industry professionals (I’m talking Hyoyeon from Girl’s Generation!!! Sungkyu from Infinite!!!! Tiger JK!!!!) and nearly debuted there. He learned how to be confident in Wild Idol where he was scolded that he needed more confident!!! MNET sucked for making him seem way more intense than he ever was during the first episode (literally the music they put on for his scenes, the sound affects, the dark smoke around him???). Also he is SO young and people just ignore it. He’s literally 1 year older than Ollie and got treated totally different. Even when he was in Wild Idol (at age 16 mind you) they made him do a Men’s Health cover shirtless. I truly hope Gunwook happiness because I cannot imagine what that would make me feel if I was in his shoes.

At first I was sad about Jay but imagining all the noonas and their mothers and mother's mothers coming for him if Yujin didn't debut, it became more of a sigh of relief.

DRIVING WHEN GUNWOOK P05 WAS ANNOUNCED IS CRAZY😭I full on had an out-of-body experience, I was gyuvin and gyuvin was me i let out a blood curdling scream and then was in a state of shock. Seriously did not expect him to be in the final line up the whole episode he looked like he was just there to enjoy himself and perform one last time.
The dog union breakup was the most heartbreaking for me the gyuvin, gunwook and junhyeon divorce that happened right in front of my eyes but at least we get gyuwook so i'm not complaining. ALSO P01 HAO???? my second out of body experience he deserves it so much we stan. This is the most perfect lineup for me i love all 9, now just the wait till july...
The way Kuan Jui fell to the floor sobbing reminded me of how wives act when their husbands go to war 😭 He was losing his soulmate (platonic or romantic idk) and it was so sad. Zhang Hao only cries at the eliminations when Kuan Jui isn’t with him 😭💔

Ricky and Gunwook would not have been the switch outs for Keita or Park Hanbin though….they both clearly had crazy one picks sitting pretty at 4 and 5
Idk why so many people think the eliminated trainees had a chance against Ricky and Gunwook. And definitely not Ricky. He was 5th for both global and Korean votes so his debut was secured. He was almost 200k votes ahead of P05. Gunwook was ahead of P06 by around 40k votes. It was neck and neck from P06 to P12 with less than 10k vote difference between each. 10, 11, 12 were Jay, PHanbin and Keita, they would have to climb over Yujin, Jiwoong, Gyuvin, Taerae and Gunwook first before even coming close to Ricky.
Was literally driving on my way to work when Gunwook was announced, and screamed at the top of my lungs. I am so happy for him!!! He was the whole reason I watched boys planet after seeing him in Wild Idol and I seriously love the group that came out of that show, TAN, but he's got such a better deal here.
P.S I live in California and the live shows start at 4:50am for me every Thursday so that'll tell you how long this episode was; nearly 4 hours 😲. Minhyun and the producers were fighting for their lives with this one.

He's this weird mix of graciousness and shrewdness - he can tell hard truths in very gentle ways and turn around tricky/charged situations (like how he deflected a request to Ollie to say "Noona saranghae" by suggesting he do "hyung saranghae" cos Ollie was clearly uncomfortable. It still gave the fans a 'moment' without embarrassing either the fan or Ollie).

Maybe that's how Mnet wanted to show their relationship, with the soul mate plot during Here I am, even though they had other friends to relate on, but yeah I'm so glad they debuted together

Kim Ji Woong needs one of biggest flower ever. he came so far. His 1st group disbanded under mis treatment with financial support & all managing problem. Then his 2nd group disbanded due to their female boss & her sister sexually misconduct their group memebers while they were performing in Japan. Even after possible 3rd group under MBK failed. He was kept going and keep trying. Now, so many years later He is at his stardom. I'm so happy with my tissues while i'm crying 😂.

Everything rj said about haobin, yes yes and yes. It felt so poetic to have hanbin be the reigning king of number one, but then at the last moment zhang hao got it and they switched places, someone who hanbin has come to love so much, idk there is some real life poetry in that. He was also sitting on the ground in front of the chair and staff had to climb the steps to tell him to Please Use The Chair, and as someone who sits in a dang flatbed hand cart in one of my college classes even though there are PLENTY of chairs to choose from, he is so real for that. I had absolutely zero interest in boys planet until your tiktoks came across my fyp and I instantly knew I had to dive into this world. Almost everything I knew about these trainees came from yall (oops) but it made the experience ten times better and to this day I have yet to watch a full episode.

Gunwook has been my one pick since the first episode and been dying for bright concept Gunwook because I knew everyone would love him. He was so versatile in Wild Idol too. He was amazing in Jelly Pop along with Zhang Hao. I have it on repeat. Gunwook’s whole announcement had me hysterically crying. His reaction, hugging Hanbin and Zhanghao, unprepared speech, thanking everyone who has helped him, him crying thanking Kum Junhyeon, just so perfect. Validating why he won all those awards for speech/debate.

My 3 picks were Matthew, Phanbin and Keita. I’m really happy for Matthew but I don’t see myself following the group without my two other picks in it. But I want to thank you guys for making BP so much more interesting to watch and for being so positive and partial. I’ve watched another UA-camr who picked Matthew as his fave initially and instantly bashed him after the evil editing. It made me realise how shallow one can be. I didn't get the gyuvin thing but people said watch the fancam and i got it the way he dances is so beautiful the en garde fancam is like a whole masterpiece
For me this time i was more focusing on singing so other than kuanjui and sung hanbin maybe park hanbin too i didn't focus much on dance but i focused more on singing
I do think he does need to improve on singing and rapping i think he is just not used to doing both together but his voice is good but he will improve

I feel like I had a similar reaction to Gyuvin as you guys. Like, I knew who he was throughout the show, I knew he had skills, but I wasn't ever drawn to him and didn't fully understand the hype. Now I get it, now I'm seeing his charms. I feel bad for taking this long to get pulled by Kim Gyuvin but I also feel like Mnet didn't fully showcase his personality (the beagle-like actions, him doting on Yujin, etc) until this episode. Dont' get me wrong I didn't dislike him or anything, there was just other trainees I was more pulled towards. And his reactions to everyone really sealed the deal, can't wait to see him on variety shows.
22:40 not gonna lie, I've definitely driven to work (it's a 10-15min drive) while the episode was playing on speaker and watched it in the corner of my screen while I worked. BUT I knew I would not be able to focus through a long a** dragged out finale announcement so I took the day off JUST so I could watch the finale without major distractions.
#1 and #2 were obviously expected (though I was genuinely worried that Zhang Hao may have to fight for #9 because Yujin hadn't been called yet and I knew he was very popular.) But seriously HaoBin's bond is absolutely precious. I know we joked about this being their wedding and joked about them being boyfriends/mothers/etc but in all seriousness, friendship/brotherhood/romance aside, I'm happy they genuinely found someone who's a source of comfort and pillar of support in each other and I'm so so happy they get to debut together. I don't think we could've written a better story for who should be #1 and #2 than these two. I do hope that people let them be and not try to force any sort of label on them though.
BUT ZHANG HAO PULLING P01?!?!!? THAT was THE surprise twist of the series. Like, it was surprising but not at the same time. I feel like we all knew he had the potential to be #1 but didn't think Korea or MNet would let it happen since he isn't Korean and SHanbin has been consistently #1 since the start of the show. It was so cute when he turned to congratulate Hanbin only for Hanbin to tell him HE's #1. And honestly, seeing the way Hanbin sit down at the #2 seat, he looks relieved. I think he's been feeling immense pressure being in the #1 spot that he's more relieved to pass it over to Zhang Hao. Frankly he handled Zhang Hao being #1 better than Zhang Hao did. And Chen KuanJui's reaction was the cherry on top of it all. As much as I love HaoBin bond, HaoJui is something else but just as precious. We don't fully know their past but it's obvious they're very close with each other. Also 35:15 what you said there, 100% agree, you put my thoughts in to words.
The thing with the age gap is, I've seen people try to make it a problem but it really isn't? Yes 9 years does seem like a lot but it's not unheard of in Kpop groups, especially ones coming from survival shows. Like both IZ*One and Kepler have a 9 year age difference, Wanna One and X1 have a 10 year difference and UNB had an 11 year difference. Heck I get along better with my youngest sister who's almost 9 years younger than my sister who's only a year younger. Basically what I'm getting at is, I think that age gap is fine and a good big/little bro bond. Plus Jiwoong and Yujin have basically performed every stage together except the Dual position stage, they work well together and don't seem to have an issue.
And I really wish there was a few more spots because as happy as I am with this line up, I was surprised Keita didn't make it in after placing within the Top 9 the entire show. But I was SUPER bummed that Jay, who was my #1 pick not only didn't make it in but was 10th place?!?! Idk, that somehow hurt more knowing he was so close.
Anyways, sorry for the long post, I'm basically talking as I listen through this episode. Thanks for your entertaining commentary on this series! It was fun to listen to and hear people who have very similar thoughts as I did throughout the show!
