Following up on last weeks events where Eden takes her first dive for a Coral Trout via speargun, it was now time to get back into our next favourite thing!
Hooking Mud-Crabs with 6mm steel round bar along the flats of the Pilbara, only a short distance away from home in Karratha.
With a low tide of 0.4m forecast for 6am, and 1.3m for 6pm, we made the call to try our luck walking the flats at first light instead of at the usual sunset hours, which typically delivers well!
The alarm clock was set for 4am, and we hobbled out of bed about half an hour there after, we then journeyed via 4x4 to reach our destination right on queue, and with what was captured on video, the rest can speak for itself!

I think your hook is to long

You'd be suprised how deep some of these holes go back. More than an arms length and the 1.5m hook together, and you'll still find a crab back there 😬
