Hi Bev. Your neighbor from Minnesota here. I do the same thing when I want a pork roast or chops. Back in September I hosted a birthday supper for my husbands aunt who turned 90 yrs.old. I bought a whole pork loin and cut 8 thick cut chops and cut a pocket in each chop and stuffed them with dressing. Then I browned them and put a couple of cans of mushroom soup over them and covered tightly with foil. Baked them low and slow till they were fork tender. Omg... they were so tender and I didn't have to worry about anyone loosing their dentures while chewing them. Best of all it didn't coast me a arm and a leg either.
Yum the roast looks de-lish! We like mayo muffins too. Homemade is usually cheaper, and a whole lot tastier! I've been canning tomato juice and turkey stock today, making more room in my freezer. Happy Halloween!
One of my husband's employees got a 6# pork roast last week and asked if I would cook it for him and we could keep 1/2. I baked it like you did yours, Bev. I put a layer of apple sauce on the roast, along with the garlic onion & herbs The apple sauce made the carrots scrumptiously sweet. The guy said he does not like carrots, but he thoroughly enjoyed mine! Then an apple pie for dessert for Sunday supper. Good eatin' with left overs for the next night.
Yes, those whole boneless loins can be such a bargain ... I cut the roasts and chops too ...also cut some into strips for pork stir fry and leave some bite-size bits for putting into spaghetti sauce (one of my daughter's favorites when it's spaghetti night) ... so, depending on the needs/likes of the household, the whole pork loin can be very versatile and inexpensive.
That looked so yummy 😋 I buy whole loins also when I find them on sell, I can usually get get them for .99 to 1.35 a pound or at least I could before the world went crazy. I am so glad the you and other UA-camrs are teaching basic home making skill and cooking from scratch is certainly an important one.
Take a couple of those chops and make tenderloins,on a toasted bun with tomato and red onion and pickles. Add some fries and coleslaw, great meal. Take a mallet and pound them 1/2" thick and dip them in egg and milk and roll in cracker crumbs then deep fry or fry in skillet.
I can't look past a deal either! My freezer is full to the brim but when a deal on meat comes around, count me in!. I'll always find a place to put more meat. Love your videos!
Yummmm! I just subscribed quite recently and I’m soooo glad I did! I’ve been going back and watching all your previous videos, and I get so exited when I get notified of a new one. Hoping to catch a live one real soon. 😁
Really just started working out much each meal costs and your home economics videos help steer me in the right direction. Hugs to you Bev and of course Howie and Gracie girl😊
By the way I just wanted to say I don’t talk to very many people over media but you’ve now taken me through cancer twice and I want to say thank you PSS I tried some marijuana has marijuana half CBD I’ve never smoked anything in my life not even cigarettes it sent me to the ER I got so high I thought I was dying they told me not to give up it was just too much for the first time but now I’m afraid to try it again because I don’t know howMuch I should’ve taken
Wishing you all the best. Sorry that happened to you. I don’t smoke but I do take edibles for pain and anxiety. Make sure you speak to a professional at a shop so you get a good strain that works for your needs and if smoking, starts with one small puff and that is all. Edibles, start with 1/8 of a dose and wait at least an hour to an hour and a half before trying more. Work your way up. I wish you the best of luck and health.
Hey Bev, we don't call meat without a bone, chops. It is a pork fillet (hard T). I love pork chops, lamp chops, T-Bone steak but they all have a bone. The backstrap is called a whole pork fillet here in Australia and the Chinese use it to make Chinese BBQ pork and do I. I love it lol. Hugs, Michelle
Omgoodness ... gonna search my freezer for a pork roast today. That looks amazing! Here where I live that meal would cost u double for one plate if u bought it at a restaurant, for what u made 2 meals for. Thanks for the tip on using the freezer bags ... grabbing by one side and turning inside out, less handling that way.
Wow! I am so sorry you have to pay such high prices. I buy mine on sale at Meijer’s for around $10 for the same size. I do the sme with mine - cut into roasts and chops.
Was that 1 cup of flour in the muffins? Love the idea of using mayo as I make my own and can’t quite get through it all before I get uncomfortable about how long it’s been there. These would be perfect.
Beautiful. Good for making pork schnitzel, among other things. And I have to say...lol skip the dishes and uber eats..really do you even get that where you are. I know I don't in the small country town where I am from
Oh my word Bev that looks awesome. I'm going to Superstore at the end of the month. Hopefully I can get a great deal too. In any case I'm making this dish thanks for sharing. I also need to get more butter to make another few batches of the whipped shortbread cookies, can I freeze the cookies?
we buy these every so often, and get about 20-25 chops for hubby out of them,, my tummy doesn't like pork nor do l like the taste,, so l vacuum seal singles for him, and l have a steak when he has a chop. I think that is a fair deal, lol... But on a serious note, you have to love buying bulk,, we go to a whole sale store and buy bulk, l only go to the butcher for my chicken cutlets.. cause there organic and my tummy will digest them.. (l have a sensitive stomach)
WEST VIRGINIA IN THE HOUSE..... IT'S COMEING WINTER HERE WITH ALL THE CORRUPTION GOING ON HERE IN THE USA🇺🇸 GOD HELP US ALL 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can most things separately..but I don't see why you can't? Cann it for the length of time and processing weight of the vegetable that takes the MOST canning time.
Oh lordy I'm comin to buy pork in Canada. If I were to buy 1 of those roasts you got on the table it would cost me $77 New Zealand dollars ARGH. We pay (I don't lol) $19.99 per kilo, even for pork belly. AND the irony is....it comes from U.S.A. What's wrong with our pork? They export it...probably to America who probably sells it back to us lol. Even lamb is way too expensive here for us to buy. Ridiculous and sad. Will stick with my chickens lol. Stay safe xx
LOL Bev when you said skip the dishes I thought you meant some of these cooks that use tinfoil pans halfway already prepared dishes LOL I hope I’m understanding you right and it’s a restaurant

Loved seeing that bag of milk. It's been so long since we've had it here.
I ALWAYS add a big dollop of mayo in my cornbread. Makes the moistest cornbread. Supper looks yummy Bev!
You are a very smart lady in making every thing last longer
Yum searing keeps it moist , those muffins look amazing 🤩

Bev as usual, thankyou for sharing your beautiful meal.

Thank you...my grandma use to cook this way. Wish I could.
Sure you can! I just showed you how!
@@OurHalfAcreHomestead Amen.. Homestead cooking instructor is your calling! 💕
That dinner is amazing 😋
Pork loins are the hidden gems! I don't buy them unless they're $1.69/lb.
Yes it's making me hungry too. But I eat a chicken from the store deli at a discount. I bought it and 4 pieces of meatloaf. It makes me 7 meals.
I'm tempted to pick up a couple of pork loins at Food Basics for $1.88/lb on sale and my pork inventory needs stocking up.
Really just started working out much each meal costs and your home economics videos help steer me in the right direction. Hugs to you Bev and of course Howie and Gracie girl😊
I was just thinking about making pork stew this week. All the same ingredients. It looks delicious.
I do the same. Really saves on the budget

Awesome meal mrs v
i GETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ITTTTTTTTTTTT! A subbie for eggs. My wife does it all the time when she does not have eggs!!
I think searing makes the juices seal in.
I'm watching in the CDST zone. It's 1:48 AM and this looks delicious! Hope you are doing well, Bev. A nice cost effective meal!!! Blessings! 🙂
One of my favorite meals, pork roast with taters and carrots...yes
Papa ain't missing a beat with the fork!😁
💖 Love you way

I had never cut my own meat until I started watching your videos. Thanks for being a great teacher!
Papa loves everything you cook! And, so do I because I always end up eating after I watch your cooking vids. This time I ate before I watched this!! 😉

Just love Gracie!

That's not an expensive price here. That's a reasonable price in Australia it will be three times as much as I pay it all depends on where you live.

Have you ever stuffed the pork loin chops with stuffing

Hey Bev! The browner you get your meat, the better a gravy your drippings will make!
searing keeps the juices from cooking out .

I love your 💩 muffin pan! Lol lol
LOL Bev when you said skip the dishes I thought you meant some of these cooks that use tinfoil pans halfway already prepared dishes LOL I hope I’m understanding you right and it’s a restaurant
It's a delivery service that a lot of restaurants in Canada use for their delivery instead of having staff hired to deliver.
No bacon ??
