High praise indeed from Simon. Simon usually praises his own acts which is only natural, however Rhydian wasn't even in his category so it just shows you how favourably Simon thought of him.
Louis saw Rhydian's potential too from the beginning of the live shows.
These reviews must be the best that Simon has given to a contestant in any of his shows.

All these years later, I still can't fathom how this guy lost. Perhaps too many believed he was so much better that there was no need to vote?
Leon is singing in pubs now. Says a lot.
Rhydian has released a succesful album, has had a very succesful tour, and is about to release a second one that will also be succesful.
If that's all he does (And it won't be, he'll get more and more popular with age), it still blows Leon out of the water.
IMO in the long run, Rhydian could be one of the biggest stars to have lived if he gets good enough opportunities.
he didn't win the contest but he got signed on with the same record label in million POUND contract. in a very real way, he did win!

Leon won because he is Scottish, it was that simple. Rhydian was and still is clearly an amazing singer and performer. He shows that he is better everytime he opens his mouth and proves that everyone who voted for Leon is deaf.
Near enought yes, only bad comment was week 5 when he sang Go West. Although personally i loved it, especially the uniform :)
I loved rhydian and was really shocked when he lost.
Its true Simon picked on Leon for looking scared and having ''no steel in his eyes'' but Rhydian had no passion in his eyes at all lol he just wanted the opera singer to win n didnt get Leon's appeal so he let him have 1 album n then discard him.
N the excuse was bullshit just cos Leon didnt get his album to number 1, it was number 4. But he signed Rhydian and he got to number 3 and was allowed to make 2 more albums on the label. He just had it out for Leon n couldnt admit it.

That guy should’ve won the show instead of Leon. I don’t understand why Leon won. Rhydian is still way more successful than Leon. I absolutely knew that Simon wanted him to win the show.

Rhydian was the true winner. But of course the fools who prefer image over talent fixed it so that Leon would win.
I love Rhydian. I don't fancy him (too blond for my liking, I like dark) but he is talented and that's all that matters.
What can one say about Sharon's judgement? Let's see. She married Ozzy Osbourne. Enough said.
His performance of Somewhere from West Side Story was World class, I hope he gets a lift from the new Spielberg version of WSS, what an amazing talent
I gave up on the X factor when he lost..he was far superior to any one else that year.

God I wish Rhydian would have won this...did anyone see Leon perform at X factor this year...he was so damn BORING!!! I hated him, I actually got up and left the room to do something else. I cant wait for Rhydian's first album, i'll be buying it that's for sure :D
he's gifted! really is,, he was on the late late show last week(irish programme) singin somewhere and since den ive been lookin at nearly every video of him on youube.. im only wonderin now how leon won! he's average compared to rhydian! i dont know hy i feel so strongly about this! haha i dont even like de x factor!

Oh the memories! Made me shiver watching all of that back again. Thanks for making/posting this :) Rhyd looks so young there, and he had no idea of the success that awaited him. And it's still really just the beginning :)
