I could see this as a failed genocide route where the player gave up several years ago and sans had to move past all the sadness in his life, After a monumental amounts of time the player returns to finish the genocide route booting up his old save but little did they know, Sans had found his resolve.
Sans picking up his sock is pretty hard if you think about it. He uses it as an anchor for the time line he's in. And he has the power to force gravity shift on things. So it's emotionally and physically demanding for him to pick it up.

I feel like Merg is the best Undertale youtuber forvever the best Undertale youtubers I have seen are Merg, Shayy and someone else (I forgot their name, I think it was Mystic Slime) Merg was a youtuber in my childhood and I am happy that Merg has fun doing these fanmades.
