Nicolas Cage is a parody of an actor forced to make shitty movies because of his debt problems. Shyamalan is a misunderstood author with some fails (Airbender, After Earth).
I really like M. Night Shyamalan's style, it is unique. The Village, The Sixth Sense and Eastrail 177 Trilogy ( Unbreakable, Split, Glass) are my favourites. The Visit and Signs are very good too. It is shame that The Village and Glass have not been well received (I actually really liked them).
Bro just look at that shot in Unbreakable in the start when Bruce Willis' character tries to impress a women, just the way it is shot from the perspective of the kid in front as it moves from one person to another. Also glass is first introduced through a mirror. Shyamalan is very intelligent director in terms of visual literacy.
One of my favorite directors and sadly one of the most underrated. His first movie I saw was with The Sixth Sense and it left me shocked. Then I started seeing Unbreakable, The Village and I understood how each of his films starts from something simple: a "normal" narrative setting and then the whole reality starts to be distorted. The characters are faced with an inexplicable event that continues to manifest fiercely until they believe that all of reality is just the result of an unconscious Olympian who first appeared one way and has now morphed into something monstrous and horrifying. Many of its characters suffer and others rebel, fight and eventually win. Perfect video that embodies the authenticity of his style, and then concludes it with one of his cameos it's a rimand also Alfred Hitchcock, the inspiring master director of Shyamalan, and if in the future I made a video on Hitchcock's filmography it would be wonderful! AMAZE US, SURPRISE US AND MARVEL AND MARVEL US!
He was born in the small costal town of Mahi, in the state of kerala (godsowncountry ) which is the southern tip of India And I am glad I am from his locality
Après toutes ces années et malgré les hauts et les bas, il reste mon cinéaste favori. Il y a une réelle personnalité dans sa façon de filmer et de créer des relations entre ses personnages.
Although many people like me disappointed Avatar the last Airbender live action but people are too much hating his only one bad movie. They tend to forget he made alot of good films I love his Unbreakable trilogy. he tried to take superhero genre into something different and new fresh concepts which is unique. It's sucks that people hates glass. Glass and 6 sense its my favorite M night films
You should do the Beauty of The Last Duel, The Passion Of The Christ, Braveheart, Ben-Hur, Rome, The Tudors, Vikings, The Wizard Of Oz, Citizen Kane, West Side Story (both 1961 & 2021), Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, The Adventures Of Robin Hood, The Princess Bride, Saving Private Ryan, Band Of Brothers, The Pacific, and Clash Of The Titans (1981)
Along with David fincher the most hitchockian director of our days. Great video. Only One thing, I noticed you have taken only One shot from Glass, Is It because you didn't like It or something else? ( Personally I think it's extraordinary)
One of the pros and cons about shymalan directing is that he has a lot dynamic shots that if they are done right he can do well composed shots and if they are not then he feels like an amateur filmaker. A lot of people critizise his writting but i think he is one of those directors that wants his style to be unique, rather than his writting be top tier. I mean when you see directors like David lynch, or Andrei Tarkovski, or even Stanley kubrick nobody shits on them for the simple writting since their focus is to make audience experience film rather than traditional films. Shymalan could enter in that cathegory if he could give the actors a propper Direction. Sometimes he can pull it fine like in the Sixth scense or split, but other times he made them look awfull like in the happening or after earth.
His latest work, Knocked At The Cabin, wouldve fit in well with this montage. I feel his storytelling has taken a dip and doesnt seem to be as strong as he use to be. Still, I root for him.
His cinematographer is very good, some films have little to no Focus. With slow shots, and sharp shots, including whatever Mm camera he uses. Very nice. Movies sucks though except some
Unpopular opinion: the last airbender wasn’t all that bad. It was bad due to poor casting, poor use of using the studios budget (Nickelodeon) and poor writing which led to a lot of unnecessary exposition. If M Night got all of those right the last airbender would’ve been a banger.

This man is like the Nick Cage of directors: you never know if it's gonna be a hit or a miss, but you're always rooting for him.

@Kevin O'Donnell and love YOU for loving Donnie Darko.
A split diopter shot none the less

I actually love glass it was great
Heavily underrated director. And thank you for using scroe from The Village, that one might actually be my favourite of his movies.
Massively underrated and unfairly maligned film.
Few people have an eye for visuals like this man, one of the boldest stortytellers of all time.
Excellent job! Mr. Shyamalan is an original story teller with beautiful visuals and music!
When I saw Notificanton of The Beauty of M Night Shyamalan video:
"What No.."
Great video man
Thanks, not only beautiful images, but The Village’s The Gravel Road piece is timeless and suits any/haunting imagery.

You haven't shown his greatest film, Avatar. It's legendary movie surpassed only by Morbius
Lol they did show a shot from that
@Jonathan Langway 1:07
There is no movie in Ba Sing Se.
@DarknessTheNightFury There is no shot in Ba Sing Se,

This music choice is everything
Putting an M Knight cameo was a nice touch.

Dang I never knew he was a malayali
Toujours une merveilleuse sélection de scènes montées avec une bande son parfaite. J'ai adoré ce travail digne de M. Night Shyamalan en plus.
You can say what you want about the man (his output has certainly been hit or miss), but he knows how to craft an interesting image.
Après toutes ces années et malgré les hauts et les bas, il reste mon cinéaste favori. Il y a une réelle personnalité dans sa façon de filmer et de créer des relations entre ses personnages.
Absolutely brilliant choice of last shot :D

Absolutely great!
Great use of The Gravel Road OST here. Good selection.
Wow he had a consistent visual style from the start of the career
This is a very hot take but I honestly believe that this man has made no bad films
@az asnermime13 rushed production with a lot of studio interference, but at its core, I think it's a fine entertainment
Agree! the man is a genius.
Bravo. Très beau montage tout en échos et résonances avec cette sensation omniprésente " d'inquiétante étrangeté" propre à l'univers de Shymalan.
Merci Marc !
Amazing!

Still a surprise and myth that his directorial debut was his career best to date. It's all mixed-to-bad movies afterwards...
But wheres the immaculate scene where a CGI rock floated across the screen in Avatar The last airbender
