25 hrs scooting, tried Pirelli Angels, they were the only ones available after lockdown. I’ve always had Citygrips. The Pirellis lack feel and I notice the Beverly 125 doesn’t maneuver as well. I live in Spain, the Angels are supposed to be a better tire for hot climates but I’ve never had problems the Citygrips, they really are the best scooter tire.
Hello, thanks for stopping by, funnily enough the Pirelli’s were an option but to be honest I’ve always had not the best experience with them on bikes so tend to avoid them these days. Feeling like flat feet isn’t good 😬 But yeah, the City Grips are just brilliant - I’m very impressed with them. All the best, cheers, Phil.
Hi I have them on my grom and when my tyres need replacing on my adv350 city grip2 will be going on there super gripy and last ages to Have a great trip love your vids cheers Phil 👍
Good afternoon Phil from Yorkshire, thanks for stopping by and great to hear from you. Having the Michelins on your Grom must be an absolute riot!!! Knee / elbow down..!! Anyway, great to know you enjoy the videos - really appreciated and yeah, I'm really looking forward to the trip! All the best, Phil from Lancashire / Manchester
Awesome tire. Had those on my previous Honda Monkey and they were just as you explained. I'll be purchasing another set here in the near future for my newer Monkey. Michelin makes a great product. Have a great adventure on your ADV!😊
Good afternoon Mr. Neutral, well, it seems like they are the go-to tyres (sorry about the spelling!) for Groms/Monkeys and Scoots and I have to say, they've upped the fun and confidence factor by 10% at least. Love them! As for the trip...I can't wait! All the best, cheers, Phil.
Afternoon Glendon, hope you're doing well today and thanks for stopping by. To be honest, I had no problem at all with the Karoo's and in fact I was looking to get a new pair for the ADV but as it happened, there were none in stock - hence the Michelins! Despite that, while grip etc, as probably the same, the 'feel' from the City Grips is just brilliant as I'm sure you know! All the best, cheers, Phil.
I still ride big bikes currently a R1250RT but also have a C400GT. It has Pirelli Angel scooter tyres from new and they’ve been good but need a change now. Wasn’t sure what to try so have gone for the Metzler Roadtec we’ll see once they’re fitted how they feel.
Good morning Mr. SouthWest 6031, great to hear from you - let me know how you get on with the Metzelers - they didn't have them in stock when I swapped mine but I've always had a fond spot for Metzelers in the past. All the best, cheers, Phil.
Good afternoon and many thanks for stopping by. As for your question, the Michelins definitely have more feel which then translates into more grip confidence. I suspect they have no more grip than the Karoo’s but they feel so much better and the ride is more compliant - which is especially good in the wet. Hope that helps, all the best, Phil.
@@80eightReviews ı replaced karoos with city grip. They are amazing. The bike's grip and handling completely changed. Thanks too much for your feedback 👍
Hey David, good to hear from you and yes, the ride with the Michelins is much more compliant than with the Karoo’s. Sure big bumps feel the same but smaller ripples and road imperfections are a lot less noticeable. Hope that helps, cheers, Phil.
Hey Dave, how are you doing? Yes, couldn't agree more along with you don't know what you've been missing until you try something else! All the best, cheers, Phil.
Your opinion chimes with my experience. I put 7k miles on my ADV350 with Karoos and then swapped to the City Grip 2 and did further 3k before selling the scoot. More feel, better handling, increased comfort. I thought I'd miss the Karoo's blocky adventure tread aesthetic but the City Grips looked just as good after a few days. Have a great trip, are you going to film any content?
Hey Rob, how are you doing? Thanks for stopping by and good to know you had the same thoughts about the Michelins. What are you riding now? As for the trip, thanks and yes, I'm looking forward to it very much and while I'll be taking a camera I'm not quite sure what what I'm going to do with it at the moment. The lure of good food, cheese, wine, beer etc, might preclude too much filming :-) All the best, cheers, Phil.
Just getting use to the ADV, I was looking at upgrading the tyres, but I'm only 600 miles in. Think I'll wait until next year. Will you be vloging your tour?
Good evening Mr. ShropshireCycle, good to hear from you again. Yes, I'd agree, wait until next year - the Karoo's are fine and to be honest I had no problems with them at all and it's only when you move to something else, that you realise there is something better out there! I'll be doing 'something' video wise on the trip but I'm not sure what yet at the moment, aside from the fact it will come out some time later - mainly because I can't speak (sensibly) and ride at the same time. Given the weather forecast though it may just be a waterproofs review :-) All the best, cheers, Phil.
@@80eightReviews You do know you're responsible for my ADV purchase. I had to wait a age to get it. But it's fantastic, I'll be popping over to Europe on it. Looking forward to your new vlog ☺️
Blimey, I wouldn't listen to me as I'm always changing my mind...Still, it seems to be working out OK! Must admit I thought mine was a stepping stone to something else but it's so good, useful and sorta relaxing it's staying for the long term...Cheers, Phil.
Hi Phil. How many miles did you get out of the OEM tyres, and secondly where did you get them fitted? I was down at Newcastle Honda on Tuesday getting mine serviced. Regards Steve (Alnwick)
@@okeycokey7391 Hey Steve, good to hear from you. All the way from Alnwick! Well, I changed the tyres early at just under 4,000 miles and I reckon there was around another 1,000 miles left in them but as I'm due to go on holiday I wanted a fresh set on and given how much better the City Grips feel I'm happy I did. And yes, I got them fitted over at Honda Newcastle - while you wait 😀 Hope that helps Steve and maybe I'll see you around sometime, all the best, cheers, Phil.
Hi, ı want to ask you a question about the tyre pressure of michelin city grip. Are you using the same values with them which is 29 psi for front and 33 for rear. As ı said ı also replaced karoos with city grip and my michelin dealer said me that ı should use 32 for front and 34 for rear at michelin. Is it right ? Thanks in advance
Hey Güray, I checked the pressures immediately after fitting and with my basic pressure gauge they were set at around 30/34 - which given margin of error / some heat etc, feels like they were set at the Karoo pressure or just maybe a little higher. To be honest a range +/- 2 PSI will hardly be noticeable and at the current pressures they feel great. Hope that helps, cheers, Phil.
Thanks for stopping by Alistair...Yes, I reckon the none-OE Karoo's could be much improved over the OEM versions - as is often the case. As for venturing off-road, well, I'm sticking to the CRF for that kind of caper! All the best, cheers, Phil.
Not bored with the AD350 yet, Phil? I went up a size on my Aerox's 14'' wheels, from a 110 section at the front to a 120; rear: 140 to a 150. Looks good. Turns in as well as it did. Nick
Hey Nick, bored of the ADV? Not at all actually and with the new tyres I'm really enjoying it more and more. It's like a kind of 'antidote' to riding the Guzzi (which is a lovely but very basic experience) whereas the ADV just sort of glides around like being in your favourite armchair. Different vibe but still much fun. Good news on the Aerox...Did you fit the Michelins then? Cheers, Phil.

Excellent video and feedback. At the high speed which one has better feeling at grip ? City grip or karoo street

Nothing worse than hard feeling tyres that give no feedback to strip away confidence, especially in the wet. Good post. Take care.
