This is the best song from Desired Effect I've heard yet, still going through it but this one is one for the books like a lot of songs from the Killers.
It’s hard to say whether it’s the instrumentals or the lyrics that makes Brandon’s songs so powerful - either way, the combination makes for sublime and beautiful music. The lyric “there’s a power in letting go” gave me goosebumps. That’s what you’re looking for in a song!
I take this song as the opposite ; he is by all definitions of the word already famous (he is the lead singer of The Killers), I hear this song as a struggle with whether to continue fighting to stay relevant/famous/pay the bills or slow down and just enjoy his dream and his life with his family -- still love this song though.
Between me and you I've been thinking about the future and Between me and you I think I'm losing it now Between me and you I've been worried about the future and Between me and you I think I'm losing it now And all my life, I've been told Follow your dreams but the trail went cold And the heart don't lie And that's a good luck charm But I'm watching it tear out of my arms And there's a power in letting go I guess I didn't want to let you know These hours I'm working ain't nearly enough And sometimes its like a bullet came and blasted me right of out of the blue But I'm doing my best to not let it get between me and you Between me and you (Come on child) I've been struggling to carry the weight (Get up child) Between me and you (Come on child) I think I'm losing it now (You got to fly) The first time that I saw your face Time stood still I found my place Now I'm watching it tear right out of my arms And there's a power in letting go I guess I didn't want to let you know These hours I'm working ain't nearly enough And chasing every dollar girl is this what I was born to do? But I'm doing my best not to let it get between me and you I remember you in white in the garden Its been trial after trial Through the ringer in the back At the window of this track I was just too proud to know (Come on child) 'Cause there's a power in letting go Never thought it'd be so hard These hours I'm working ain't nearly enough And sometimes its like a bullet came and blasted me right of out of the blue And I feel like I've got nothing to show And I've been wondering what I'm suppose to do And I'm doing my best not to let it get And I'm doing my best not to let it get Between me and you
A couple years ago I was a hardworking pastry arts student who worked two jobs while going to school and on the weekends I would be alone in a restaurant making pizza dough early in the morning to this song and that’s what sticks with me the most, how defeated, tired, and yet strangely optimistic I was.
loosing time... letting go... "And sometimes its like a bullet came and blasted me right of out of the blue" (woah!), Time stood Still... I found my place Now I'm watching it tear right out of my arms. Its all between the lines.
That voice! I love when he doesn't try to force it. Though maybe that's the magic of studio mixing? Sometimes live, I think it's missing something. That's not to say live it isn't AMAZING, it's just...I guess he's trying to make himself heard over the music surrounding him on stage.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. This man is THE songwriter of the last 15 years. F***ing awesome.
Brilliant song. "There's a power in letting go...." even if it hurts.
Brandon Flowers is a true song-smith...this song is amazing
That guitar note that starts at 2:17 is sublime
This is the best song from Desired Effect I've heard yet, still going through it but this one is one for the books like a lot of songs from the Killers.
I LOVE BRANDON FLOWERS Music. He is AWESOME.

Are you kidding? It's his voice. Amazing. His live version with Chrissie Hynde is pretty damn good as well.
Your about to get so famous..Amazing song and album, thank you...changed my perspective on life...
+david rose He is relatively famous haha (i.e. The Killers)
+Maybelle C I think he was referring to the uploader
+david rose who you were referring to?
I take this song as the opposite ; he is by all definitions of the word already famous (he is the lead singer of The Killers), I hear this song as a struggle with whether to continue fighting to stay relevant/famous/pay the bills or slow down and just enjoy his dream and his life with his family -- still love this song though.
The one song that every young husband and father won’t play to his wife until retirement.

Soundtrack brought me here :)
Between me and you
I've been thinking about the future and
Between me and you
I think I'm losing it now
Between me and you
I've been worried about the future and
Between me and you
I think I'm losing it now
And all my life, I've been told
Follow your dreams but the trail went cold
And the heart don't lie
And that's a good luck charm
But I'm watching it tear out of my arms
And there's a power in letting go
I guess I didn't want to let you know
These hours I'm working ain't nearly enough
And sometimes its like a bullet came and blasted me right of out of the blue
But I'm doing my best to not let it get between me and you
Between me and you
(Come on child)
I've been struggling to carry the weight
(Get up child)
Between me and you
(Come on child)
I think I'm losing it now
(You got to fly)
The first time that I saw your face
Time stood still
I found my place
Now I'm watching it tear right out of my arms
And there's a power in letting go
I guess I didn't want to let you know
These hours I'm working ain't nearly enough
And chasing every dollar girl is this what I was born to do?
But I'm doing my best not to let it get between me and you
I remember you in white in the garden
Its been trial after trial
Through the ringer in the back
At the window of this track
I was just too proud to know
(Come on child)
'Cause there's a power in letting go
Never thought it'd be so hard
These hours I'm working ain't nearly enough
And sometimes its like a bullet came and blasted me right of out of the blue
And I feel like I've got nothing to show
And I've been wondering what I'm suppose to do
And I'm doing my best not to let it get
And I'm doing my best not to let it get
Between me and you
"And I feel like I've got nothing to show for this life"
Amazing song. I can't stop listening to it.

A couple years ago I was a hardworking pastry arts student who worked two jobs while going to school and on the weekends I would be alone in a restaurant making pizza dough early in the morning to this song and that’s what sticks with me the most, how defeated, tired, and yet strangely optimistic I was.
Optimism always pays off in the end no matter how things turn out. xx

loosing time... letting go... "And sometimes its like a bullet came and blasted me right of out of the blue" (woah!), Time stood Still... I found my place
Now I'm watching it tear right out of my arms.
Its all between the lines.
Love the Desired Effect. I did a cover of Between Me And You a little while ago; check it out on my channel and hope you enjoy!

This song is so powerful. So glad I discovered it thanks to Soundtrack.. Love the solo artist as much as I love The Killers.
The song writing in this is incredible

Tony Levin on the bass, epic
💕love
Netflix brought me here. LOL. Cool song.
Quantico brought me here !!! S1 Ep 11
And the heart don't lie
🎼🎼🎼♥️♥️♥️
Yes.
The piano player occasionally plays some messy shit unsuitable for this song, especially in the beginning.
😮😭😍🎼😭💖💖💖
This sounds like some albums of the Killers from 2011 - 2013.
The chorus has a tiny bit of Jim Steinman to it.
this sounds like it would fit into the 13 reasons why soundtrack lol such a good song
TWICE private elegant life
1:48 i love the way that synth sounds.
I NEEED ANOTHER SHOW😞😞😞
De beste zanger ooit !
Beautiful
Sirotkin❣

I been listening to killers for 20 years. The killer is one of top favorite band.
Brandon always sings it well but Bruce Hornsby can still tickle them ivories.
I didn't realize it was Bruce until I saw this. The piano playing has always been one of my favorite things about this song.
