You should remove the hook when you gut hook a peacock. Go behind the gills and turn the hook out of its throat don’t pull. The fish will eventually die having a hook in its throat. Mine as well keep it and eat it. Just some helpful advice
Back then when I was living in Cold springs Florida we didn't have all the nice fish the peacock bass and other exotic fish we just had large mouth bass
I used to live in Coral springs back in the day in the 70s we had some big bass in those canals around the neighborhoods us kids used to catch a tar out of the largemouth bass bass love wild shiners

Lmaoo thanks man
“I can never have a beautiful release” haha I feel that tho
Throw some lures for those peas. Shiners are for beginners.
Technically am a beginner but we couldn't find any pea Flair's around our area so we just thought it would be fun to throw some shinners
Try a yozuri suspending 3ds jerkbait or a rapala.
@@swkelley I'll give it a try next trip, thank you!
If you like catching use shiners
@@natesuarezfishing1355 If you're having fun with shiners, then go ahead and keep using them. Gatekeeping is lame.
