That’s the problem with most of the HCL games. The regulars like Nik are no match for elite players like Dwan. When Garret was on stream there was a different level of play that you don’t get now.
Oh when garret was on stream Airball played like a kitten, so silly he's the horse they decided to bet on.
garrett was severely overrated in these streams (in part because he used to be able to control who gets a seat). he looked meek and was losing in a table with guys like dwan.
@@painkiller5657 possibly overrated, but at that level of skill these opinions are just personal bias
Garet is elite at live tells. When you have such good reads, you can get to the river with a lot of hands and make profitable decisions on the river.

It's obvious to me Dwan is the best because he blends the two together.
Nik Airball was getting cocky a few month back. Poker will humble anyone

Dwan called with the expectation he would lose badly.
Nik lost an extra 252k but mentally beat Dwan.
@Dan Raiders Warriors Sharks Giants lol no he didn't. He put him on a bluff but then the 4 bet made him regret it because it's so underbluffed. But Nik didn't have enough so it was a bad play, if Nik was deeper it's a good play. Was an obvious call.

airball is far from "above average". He's literally dogshit, and hands down the worst player I have ever seen. I used to play for a living, and his understanding of the game is nil.

Why is it so satisfying to watch Nik losing a $1M????? 😂😂😂😂😂
"How does he call?"
Dwan blocks the value hand Airball is representing (9,10).
2-pair or even sets are unlikely to 4-bet flop for value on that texture, but even if it does sometimes, Dwan has outs to a 9 or 10
Dwan is an elite player, he doesnt play on "feel" like the HCL recreational regs.
Also, the bloke is literally called "Airball"
Also he got value+draw combo hands completely crushed and there's a lot of them. Way too many combos to fold and thats why Tom was mad at himself for a second there before making the call. I think he was wrong to be mad tho. This is the kind of oppo You wanna let him have the rope to hang himself with.
Sooner the money goes in the better because Tens are not an easy hand to play with almost any turn card. Personally I think top set should be 4 betting there a lot as airball. With bottom sets pot control and seeing the turn might be better idea. Quite often top set gets it in really good against a smaller set but the action might be killed on a bad turn card. Depends on how deep tho ofc.

I must say, I don't understand people in this sort of game mixing it up with Dwan. I remember playing against him online in the very early days before he made it big and my immediate note on him was pretty close to: "Avoid playing hands with this guy." And color-coded for super strong. Of course, now you don't need to figure out how good Dwan is... If you don't know how good he is, then never mind being in a game with him, you shouldn't even be in a game in a casino.
All of the other players should just start reaching over and taking his chips away. His money would probably last longer that way. He isn’t even trying to win.
I played in a private run-off tourney (play previous nights to qualify??) where someone who didn't show up had their chips slowly blinded off ... they outlasted a LOT of the other players. Like I wouldn't be surprised if it was 2/3rd of them.

There was a story of him playing one of the top gin rummy pros in a high stakes game and his personal bodyguard pointed out to him at one point that his opponent was looking at the bottom card every time he finished the shuffle, giving him a huge advantage in gin. So this is how Nik made his millions playing poker. I really do think he put dwan on JJ, 9A, Q9, 9J or a singel pair type of hand. Nik knew that if he had a one pair hand he should fold and Nik got the balls to actually shove with air. That he also had lost 700k before this might made him more agressive in the pot and put him on tilt. Dwan is not a regular player though, he play different against everyone and that is so out there.
