@@dewynoodle that's very exciting! I haven't done Abel Tasman, but I've heard it's beautiful! Also heard it takes a fair bit of organisation, so understandably a bit overwhelming. Would love to connect on other SM to keep up with your adventure!
@@sezhikes You're not kidding. The logistics is a pain in the *** and I only live in Wgtn. Can't imagine how tricky it is for people who live elsewhere or internationals. In my experience, all the info that is out there really doesn't cover this enough. Long White Gypsy's UA-cam vid on it was the most useful. Just booking my drop off and pick up now..what a mish! Still extraordinarily fun though!! :D I'm thinking of making a personal SM account for it, prob FB (I wonder if UA-cam is a bit over my head). Especially as it's the first of the 'complete set'. Will link you in. Also wondering if I should buy a GoPro as an investment for my nomadic future (I'm so not a nomad hahaha). Keep you posted :)
@@dewynoodle every single time I've seen someone talk about the logistics of organising transport for Abel Tasman I've only gotten more confused. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I eventually get to it. Once all the logistics are out of the way you'll feel a lot better though and it will be an incredible adventure! I would love that, when you set it up feel free to flick me a message! YT can be a bit daunting, but it's also really fun. I would highly recommend the GoPro for hiking! Solid as a rock and the Hero12 is even better quality than this! My latest WA hiking video is using the Hero 12. It's weatherproof and pretty much indestructible (Unless you land full force on top of it on a rock), but that's another story!
I returned to Sydney today from doing Kepler Track, a beautifully shot video that shows the track at its best! Well done on doing it in two days, I took the four day option!
That's awesome! I'm actually in Sydney at the moment for a concert. It's such a beautiful track, I hope you had great weather for it too! I'd definitely take the 4 day option if I do it again too.
Thanks for sharing. My days of hiking overnighters are over, so it's awesome to see the rest of the track. I found it really interesting and the views are stunning.
Thank you! I did figure that out a bit later in the day, but thought it was entertaining to leave it in there. My sense of direction really left me when I was up there and I felt so silly afterwards!
Exciting! I hope you get great weather! January in Southland is usually pretty good 😊 and I'm glad to hear it, if I ever do it again I will be doing at least 3 days!
This is so wonderful. Fab vid! Thx! I’ve just signed up for my first Great Walk, end Oct 😃
Thank you for watching! That's so exciting, you'll absolutely have the best time! Which one are you booked in for?
@@sezhikes The Abel Tasman. Gentle start to the 11 Walks😊 Excited and overwhelmed but doing it anyway😁🤩

Good effort, I'm looking forward to doing this walk but being 67 I'll take it in over 4 days I reckon
Great plan! If I ever do it again I'll be taking at least 3 days! It's such a beautiful track. When are you going?
Ha ha, I am 70 next year and want to try and do it in a day!

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed the video and got to experience seeing the rest of the track ☺️ thank you for your feedback!
It's the south fiord of Lake Te Anau. The Kepler mountain range in the west would stop you seeing anything
Thank you! I did figure that out a bit later in the day, but thought it was entertaining to leave it in there. My sense of direction really left me when I was up there and I felt so silly afterwards!
We're looking forward to doing this in January. Hoping for the weather you had! But we will take twice as long. 😉

Nice one Sez.
Thank you! I need to sit down and watch your latest 🥰
When did you do the walk
Hi, we did it on Easter Weekend this year ☺️
