The Venture Kid soundtrack is the culmination of nearly every
8-bit lesson I have learned over the past 15 years. It is
incredible that even after that much time of actively studying
this art form, I am still learning new things about how the
original NES soundtracks were made, and adding those techniques
to my own arsenal. This soundtrack represents the first NES
soundtrack I have ever made where I am fully utilizing NES
detuning, which is to say, a slight offset in the tuning between
both squarewaves that creates a subtle but luscious sheen. I am
once again using ModPlug to recreate my own brand of authentic
NES music, which did make adding new techniques much more
difficult if I wanted to keep an authentic sound. Great care
was taken to incorporate new concepts without violating any of
my own personal standards in NES authenticity. Though I can say
with some certainty that this will be the last NES soundtrack
I ever do with ModPlug. This is my ModPlug Swansong. It has
been a hell of a ride, getting to this point. Thank you everyone
for enjoying and sharing my chiptunes up to this point.
