Yes! Classic corn silage harvest video with drone shots and music! Let's go!!! Its so cool to see the new silos getting filled! That off gassing was incredible. Other than one feeding issue they seem to be working perfectly. Looking forward to seeing them get filled the rest of the way.
The drone footage is amazing to see, it makes the combine eating up that crop look so satisfying. Wonderful to see the whole process from beginning to end in your new built silos
Best video yet 👏. Congrats on the first harvest in the new silos. I loved the shot of the silos filling up from the bottom. It gives great perspective on the amount of space those silos have for grain. Looking forward to seeing those robot feeders in action.
Hi Eric. Congrats on filling the remaining silos. Hopefully with good feed for awhile. Now the last component we need to see work as well are Rosie and Evie the robots !!! Hopefully the whole system will work fine !!
Miss cutting silage. Was my favorite part of farming. We ran a Massey 1105 with a 2 row header. 3 silage wagons and 2 6500 cevy dump trucks. 1 upright 65'tall and 1 pit about the size of your center pit. Thanks for taking me along. Loved the video. Brings back a lot of good memories.
Great video! Your attention to detail in harvesting corn silage and preparing the silos is impressive. It's awesome to see everything organized and running smoothly. Looking forward to the next updates!
Good video! It’s great to see that everything seems to be working as planned. Your farm has invested a lot recently with many improvements in almost all aspects of how you operate. Let’s hope they all work out as well!!
Excellent video Eric I wasn't sure how much the side of the settle but wow when you said it was at the bottom of the unloader and it settled a good 20' down it will make great feed for your cows ... At least you ain't got to pack down the bunk silos then cover them with plastic and tires
Eric, praise God for a good harvest so far. So excited to see the silos in use! Great footage in this video, especially the shot from inside the silo with the chopped corn coming down.
Thank you for producing another spectacular harvest video! Including the drone footage of your beautiful farming operation. And then taking time to add some awesome views from inside the silos while being filled. Brilliant! Thank you again for your attention to the details! And have a continued safe harvest season.
Thanks for sharing the process with us. You and your dad have a very special set-up going on at the farm. Looking forward to seeing the automatic feeding work.
Dang, that is impressive. Has to be exciting to use those brand new silos. I hope it works out well. That blower is so impressive to me! We struggled at times blowing into an 80' Harvestore in the 80's. That takes all you can give it and it goes up 135? So cool!
Well yet another outstanding video! I’ve watched you and your family’s farm transform for a couple of years now and am so impressed that you always make sure that everything you do and buy is done to ensure the best results for the heard of the best kept cows in America! I also love all the harvesting videos watching the Massey Ferguson tractors at work.
Fantastic video Eric! Love seeing the silos on a farm. So many do away with them. Your videos are amazing, such great content and views! Thank you and stay safe and healthy!
It is so interesting to see how everything works- the machinery, the crops, the upgrading and constant changing and improving. Thank you and your family for sharing your lives with us! Much love to you and yours'!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great idea with the plastic on the ground to get every bit of silage into the silo. You will save a lot of fuel not having to pack the bunkers not to mention the cost of the plastic liner and cover. Also nice to see the new silos put into service. The summer sure seemed to go fast. Seems like just a few weeks ago you were planting. Do you think you will ever need another silo? Amazing how much gas was coming out of the silo, i learned more about how they work today. i love your educational videos. Great video and thanks till next time.
How many of neighboring farmers are watching you and all the changes your making !! Especially the robot feeders !! Someone has to step up and advance w technology!! Good for you !!
What a treat it has been to watch you build this system over the summer. Wow! What progress, everything looks great. I can't imagine how good it will feel to have the robot running out feed for the first time. Good luck and well done!!!
EXCELLANT Video of the amount of Work Farmer's do to produce our foods. Even Feeding the Cattle throughout the Winter is never considered by the public.
I was excited for you to get these silos “in work” as they say at NASA. I’ll bet you’re really excited ! How long till everything’s operational ? You must be counting the days ! Saving wear and tear on tractors with the harvest and feeding. That’s wonderful ! Hope it all works well for you in the cold weather with snow.
Great video! Also hats off to your custom operator for working with you switching back and forth between silos and types of corn to get the silos filled properly! I know from experience that it is necessary but not necessarily fun😂
I’m so glad to see the plastic to catch stuff. I’ve been yelling at you watching these videos for years to do that. I know you all clean up afterwards but I’m sure it’s going to make the job easier. Love your work.
It used to take so many people helping you, now its just you watching a monitor and scooping up the stuff that spills. So much easier and less stressful I'm sure. Very Impressive
Awesome video from the top of the silos and the drone shots are great too. Your videos are always fun to watch but also very educational too. I love watching your channel.
I don't think any dairy farmers can afford to own a self propelled forage harvester unless they also run a custom harvest business........ But then your aren't a dairy farmer....... You are a custom harvester who owns a dairy. It's basically two opposite ends of the hard work spectrum. Dairy farmers never get a day off but are always home. Custom Harvesters get half the year off but also spend half the year away from home.
Just curious your thoughts on how much better/ taller the replanted beans on the home farm look. Was it just the timing/ weather with the 1st planting, or something else?
I always thought the cows preferred the drier silage. It’s been 30 years since I’ve had anything to do with cows. We never were close to the production the dairy are seeing today. I’m very interested to see how your cows will produce on the drier silage
Great explanation, good for us novice to know what you're doing and understand the reasoning behind your processes. Thanks for sharing, I hope you have a great evening!
Thanks for the video Now everything makes a lot more sense How your big new silos work Love watching your videos. From down here in the Missouri Ozarks
Curious to hear what the custom guys think of the new silo setup and how they liked loading into it as opposed to the old setup. I'd imagine they enjoy seeing you guys upgrading and growing as much as all of us viewers. 22:29 that is crazy that you can see all that gas actively coming out of the silo
Great going, looking real good. Hey, I noticed that your tractor lanes next to the silos look like they're not packed well and are loose like marbles. You might need some "fines" or stone dust added to lock that in a little better. Advice from the cheap seats, lol. 👍
You need to put one of the weather cameras on top of the silo. I love the view from up there but it always gives me the willies when you look straight down.
I was astonished at the first silo switch until I realized that it was switching to put dry matter in the bottom of both. Surprised that corn silage could plug with that giant blower system.
Eric, curious 🤔 is there any thoughts as to silo wall wear from the silage being directed to bounce off the walls instead of directly dropping into the center. I know it's a long-term question. But wondered. Great program, look forward to seeing you each week.😊
Eric, I love watching these harvesting video's, they are so relaxing. The camera shot of the feed dropping down was a great new angle. Can you give us viewers an indication of the custom crews fees ......... do they charge on hours / acres / tonnage ......... would be very interesting to get a further insight. I also am impressed by their work ethic ....... drive up and get straight into it. I'm sure they're quite sought after. G'day from Oz !
Great idea with the plastic under the blower. You're able to get a lot more of the spillage cleaned up. I noticed quite a bit got left behind with the first silo.
Awesome videos, I have enjoyed watching your videos for years!! What percentage of loss can you expect during harvest? Silage that ends of on the ground during onload into the trailer on field, and then during unload from trailer to silo?
Because it would have to be attached and detached with every load, and the drivers don't have time for that. Plus, it still wouldn't stop the tiny bit of spillage that happens. It gets tossed off of the rotors and everything. It's part of silage life.
@@daveklein2826 only takes a second or two to place and pulls off just as easy. I guess when free labor is readily available no compromise can be made. Too bad we still arent mowing hay with a 5 foot cycle bar and horses.

I am amazed at the talents of the Harvester, the trailer drivers, the whole crew do a fantastic job. A pleasure to watch.
💯
I agree with you. They do it everyday and are bound to get professional 😀. Very entertaining to watch.
The drone footage is amazing to see, it makes the combine eating up that crop look so satisfying. Wonderful to see the whole process from beginning to end in your new built silos

Loving this channel been watching for a long while amazing to see how much you've upgraded over the last few years ♥️
That shot inside showing how the deflector worked pushing the feed against the walls was very cool.
I can tell you re happy with the progress of succesful first parking of corn in the silos.
I really learn alot from your farm skills.
Thanks for sharing the process with us. You and your dad have a very special set-up going on at the farm. Looking forward to seeing the automatic feeding work.

So cool to see you cutting the physical labor down great for your dad and your body will thank you when you get to be your dads age.
Congratulations on the harvest, always a good day when the Corn comes in. And you didnt have to work until midnight setting tires, another bonus.
Thank you for a great video !!! AMAZING to see and a great education for this old grandma. Keep up the great work.
Excellent planning, this new system install is so cool!

You guys have this down to a science. I'm impressed.
Great video Eric!! I really enjoyed it and appreciate your time and work to put these together.
Such a cool video! I love chopping and learning about Silos is very interesting. Great job!

Harvest never gets old.
This is something I wait for all year. Getting to see the progression of the expansion and going through the seasons. Love the content!!
Things seem to be going good so far. Can't wait to see the rest of silage harvest.
I'll miss the harvester blowing straight from the field to bunker silo
Looking good on the corn silage for 2024!
Biggest silo I ever helped fill was 20x60, just amazing how much that settled over night!
You are a LEGEND Eric!
A credit to your family!
Blessings from Australia.👍🏾
Looks like a good day and a lot less work than the bunkers.

In those tall silos, will the juice move down to the bottom over time and does that lead to the bottom spoiling?
Good to see you trying new things👌
Also your typical humble approach second guessing but explaining your thoughts and learnings so well.
Thank you
Awesome video from the top of the silos and the drone shots are great too. Your videos are always fun to watch but also very educational too. I love watching your channel.
The shot of the gas was amazing. Surprised you could actually see it.
It's usually worse on a bigger silo... I've seen it Plenty of times on ours.
It's almost eerie, you can see it at your feet when you are in a silo that's just been filled.
He needs to be extremely cautious with his conveyor opening and feed room right there. That stuff can kill quickly
Can you talk about owing equip cost vs contracting to custom cutting? And calf breading for beef farmers? Cost, hassle. Keep up the good work!
I don't think any dairy farmers can afford to own a self propelled forage harvester unless they also run a custom harvest business........

Just curious your thoughts on how much better/ taller the replanted beans on the home farm look. Was it just the timing/ weather with the 1st planting, or something else?
Thanks for doing such a thorough job of explaining the steps!
Great to see all your hard work is getting results. The silos will be a big time saving for you. Greetings from Australia
Excellent video as usual, very informative on every aspect of how you harvest and store your feed.
Awesome video! Interesting to see those silos get filled. Loved the drone footage

So if you're already looking for corn to fill the silo's, does this mean you will plant more next spring?
It makes sense to have dryer feed on the bottom of the silo. The moisture of the more moist feed on top of it will make it moist.
Great video brother from the imperial county ca 🚜🚜🚜
Finalmente dopo 4 anni che ti seguo avete messo il tendone sotto il silos
Thanks for the video Now everything makes a lot more sense How your big new silos work Love watching your videos. From down here in the Missouri Ozarks
You and your dad are pretty awesome. Hard working Americans doing good things for the people. Thanks for what you do.

The old Farmall we used on the blower had a smoke stack that would glow red.
Great going, looking real good. Hey, I noticed that your tractor lanes next to the silos look like they're not packed well and are loose like marbles. You might need some "fines" or stone dust added to lock that in a little better. Advice from the cheap seats, lol. 👍
Amazing view on top of the silos, must be fun to watch the farm from way above!
You need to put one of the weather cameras on top of the silo. I love the view from up there but it always gives me the willies when you look straight down.
How much will you save not buying plastic to cover bunkers?
the inside shots of the silo was so cool and the video from inside the silo was great thank u
I was astonished at the first silo switch until I realized that it was switching to put dry matter in the bottom of both. Surprised that corn silage could plug with that giant blower system.
What a great video Mr Eric. Awesome to see you put those big badboy silos to work!

How do you plan out your year? That’s amazing you had planned 3 months ago to grow short season corn to have a dry stalk. Good job.
Having a safety harnas climbing the ladders on the silo looks smart for myself. Just a belt that can connect to a safe cable?
Great shot from inside man nicely done never seen that done before
Eric, I love watching these harvesting video's, they are so relaxing.

G'day from Oz !
Your content is amazing n your farm is awesome. Keep the great content coming. Plus can you do bigger sizes for your merch please
I love so much your video. Now I look like I know my stuff because of you and the way you show and explain every thing.
Yay! Harvest bluegrass!!! Was hoping I’d hear some again!!
I love the views from the top of the silo's
Great job I remember the cows drinking the run off from the silo they got pretty loopy was funny
I knew silage gases were a thing, but I didn't expect it to be off-gassing that much. Thanks for that visual, it sure puts things in perspective!
Great idea with the plastic under the blower. You're able to get a lot more of the spillage cleaned up. I noticed quite a bit got left behind with the first silo.
Yesssss the annual corn chopping musical aerial montage!
Curious what you do with the robot feeders when you will be filling that one silo. I see the blower and tractor were on its path.
Awesome chopping video... chopping corn is always my favorite time of year
I wish you the best with the big investment your family made. Safe harvest 😊
outstanding storytelling,
Outstanding Visuals
Delightful Music

Awesome videos, I have enjoyed watching your videos for years!!
What percentage of loss can you expect during harvest? Silage that ends of on the ground during onload into the trailer on field, and then during unload from trailer to silo?
One suggestion, since you have to scoop what gets spilled, why not make a simple clip-on shield and attach to the discharge shute of the wagon?
Because it would have to be attached and detached with every load, and the drivers don't have time for that. Plus, it still wouldn't stop the tiny bit of spillage that happens. It gets tossed off of the rotors and everything. It's part of silage life.
Because the wagons have zero time to mess around
@@daveklein2826 only takes a second or two to place and pulls off just as easy. I guess when free labor is readily available no compromise can be made. Too bad we still arent mowing hay with a 5 foot cycle bar and horses.
@@jmalone2758 Free labor? They have to pay the custom choppers to do that. And many people still do mow hay with sickle bar mowers.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Modern Farming is truly amazing.
How fast can they dump off a load? Well, obviously too fast plugging the pipe like that.... That's one reason why bunker silos got so popular.
132 feet woo!! good excerside I said the same thing when I was your age now at 60 I DONT miss climbing silos at all and mine were only 75 feet!!
It'd be kinda cool to see a time lapse of the feed settling in the silo, if you could set that up. Keep up the good work!
