So I searched Lunter videos, and then I adored the art and the comics of these two, and watched cute moments of them. Then that’s when this ship started to grow in me. I started to like Lunter more than lumity. After months passed and when I finished watching season 3, I couldn’t stop searching more Lunter stuff. It took me a while to know why people hate this ship. It’s because one, they see Luz and Hunter as siblings, second, they would say Luz has a girlfriend and so does Hunter, these people use excuses of saying that Lunter is incest, or gross or disgusting, even they use the excuse of pedophile. I did not see Luz and Hunter as siblings, more like best friends, but that’s before I started to ship Luz and Hunter. So I searched deeper if Luz and Hunter are “ACTUALLY” siblings, if they really are family. So here’s my answer, No. They are not siblings, they are not step siblings either. They are not related. Sure, they do have siblings like dynamics but they aren’t related or siblings. Just because Luz said to Hunter, “you are our family now” does not mean he’s really Luz’s brother, or even Camila’s son, not even step brother or adopted son. Luz said to Hunter you are our family now is because Luz cares about Hunter, showed empathy and that he’s welcomed in her family and free to tell his troubles or difficulties, and giving him the family that he didn’t had. She’s a true friend to Hunter. When Luz told Hunter you are our family now, that be considered Found family or Family of choices. What that means is term that refers to a non-biologically related group of people established to provide ongoing social support. Unlike a "family of origin", a family of choice is based on chosen bonds, not biological ones. A found family is a group of people without any blood relation that supports and cares for someone the same way family members would. Also found families are not Nuclear family.
