Certainement l'une des plus belles chansons de notre répertoire, d'un mystère doux et enveloppant. Ah ! beau souvenir que voilà.

I moved to Quebec from Ontario in 95 b-4 the referendum. This was the first song that made me be a Canadian with my Quebecois cousins. My grandmere came from QC! It was more than anyone can imagine to feel my Quebec roots so deep! I'm CANADIAN!

By that time I was working in QC Government, and remember the tension in the office and generally downtown Montréal. My whole family was getting worried about what if ... the YES won. We were frigntened and I didn't want to choose between my KING and QUEEN. No we were not playing chess, it was real life. On OCT-27, I jumped on the local suburban train thinking about others on VIA Rail or AIR Canada. I went to work as usual, while hearing some colleagues hoping they'd finally have a country. At 11H30 I was tired of this and said to them, It's time to leave because I'm going to save mine (but I was nervous). I just walked down the street, into the deepest crowd I have ever been for all my life. I felt a bit more hope for the future hearing speeches in both languages and meeting Canadians from outside Québec. I don't travel much and live mainly in French, still today, but I was really concerned about the threat. Then I took the metro, seeing so many people with both flags in their hands. By then, I was just starting to collect records, and didn't imagine there would be vinyl remains in 1995, and I was hearing Marjo on the radio. Maybe 13 years later (in 2008) I was so happy to find this song on 45, and now everyone can enjoy it on my channel. Yes, my roots are so deep as well, but what do I do if they're both Québécois and Canadian? Glad to know that I just need to continue to live in one of the best places on Earth...

    Elle marchait simplement
    Sur le highway
Et le vent sur sa robe
    Jouait, jouait
    Elle allait droit devant
    Sur le highway
    Et le temps qu'il faisait
    Disait, lui disait
    Belle bohémienne
    Belle belle quand seras-tu mienne?
    Elle marchait librement
    Sur le highway
Et le vent dans sa tête
    Soulevait'ses secrets
    Elle filait droit devant
    Sur le highway
Et ta voix sur la mienne
    Disait, disait
    Belle bohémienne
    Belle belle quand seras-tu mienne?
    Belle bohémienne
Belle belle la lune est pleine

C'est beau et c'est hautement inspiré de Mexican Moon de Concrete Blonde (1993)
