Quite interesting - I like the discourse. First, a mantle is basically [a symbol of] authority while anointing is an endorsement. A mantle is basically the authority you embody as a person. A mantle is very visual, you don't need to be told who has the mantle. In the times of Elijah, there were many prophets but the mantle of prophesy rested on him. In other words, he had a higher authority than the other prophets - yes, these ranks exist. Because of this, the other prophets submitted to him for authority and order. Afterwards, Elisha took over and the prophets submitted to him, if anything, because he embodied the same move as Elijah - at least to the company of prophets. Without a mantle, there is a general lack of direction in a ministry - that's why we anoint overseers etc [even though they sometimes fail to embody the mantle]. Mantles, if taught properly, do not diminish the work of the Holy Spirit. In fact, it just let's us know that there are always the greater things of the Spirit. Even you David Ondijo might one day receive a mantle and will pray that God transfers it to someone else when your time is come. Finally, I do agree with you that the preaching on mantles is being misused and it can open doors to worship of familiar spirits. And yes, the symbolism should not be overstretched. People might abuse it, people might misuse it, people might misunderstand it but....Nonetheless, mantles are real. We just need wisdom.
Kindly as the hosts avoid talking when the video is playing, if you have to talk , pause the video , talk then play the video again. The output when you do that its not very nice.... But deep conversation , getting blessed.
