it's like modern surfy slightly happier joy division. think its the riff styles and the straightforward driving basslines, kind of peter hook-esque in the slightest bit. I really dig it. Love the melancholic lyrics so so much.
Having a brother in the band is always cool, my little brother and I were in a pop punk band back in the mid 90's and what's even cooler is when you play in a band with your son and brother! My 18 yr old son is my guitarist and my brother is the drummer whenever he can come by and I play bass or drums. New Orders version of Ceremony is my favorite(sorry Joy Division fans) and Day Wave did it justice!

Wow! These guys look like they're in high school. Idk what I was expecting- they just look really young. Awesome band tho! I really dig the tight shimmery, surfy melancholy with the driving basslines. I wish they'd have that canned effect on the mikes which would make it sound a little more like the album. But hey not a major complaint and apparently, from the interview, this was their 1st show as a band proper.

Live vocals are what they are, which is never quite the same as in the studio. I prefer live performances though, I like the imperfections.
