- Our salutations to the unsurpassable Vageyakaara, Saint Thyagaraja....
On the occasion of his Jayanthi( May 04, 1767), we humbly present one of his evergreen musical outpourings, brimming with Bhakti to the Supreme consort of Sita, Sri Rāma.
The first among his Pancharatna Kritis, "Jagadhānandakāraka" hails victory to the cause of happiness of the world,
who is lord of the soul of Sita.
He who is born in the lord of the sky,
He who is the king of kings who causes good conduct,
Who is served by devas, who grants humility and
Who is forever and in everything.
He who is the divine star who always does good to lotus,
Who is complete, devoid of sin, who is the helping hand for Gods,
Who is the famous thief of curd and butter and clothes of women,
Who has prettiest face, who talks nectar like words,
Who is a cowherd, who is ever happy who is the consort of Lakshmi,
And who ensures safety of all worlds.
He who nourishes the nectar as well as Goddess Lakshmi,
He who is the wind that scatters the enemies of Devas,
He whose feet are saluted by innumerable monkeys.
He whose body is of the colour of blue Sapphire,
He whose eyes are Sun and moon, He whose divinity cannot be measured
He who is the father the lord of words, He who sleeps on the good serpent
He who is praised by the enemy of the God of death.
He who holds several arrows in his hand, He who destroys the pride of asuras,
He who is the protector of devas and Asuras, He whose story is praised by great poets,
He who is the one praised by Thyagaraja.
He who causes creation, upkeep and destruction, he who is limitless,
He who gives desired results, He who has incomparable strength,
He who is praised by the consort of Sachi, He who creates soulful music, He who is kind to every one.
He who won the feet of sage when he cursed him, He who looks after all equally, He who is eager to know blessed mantras, He who has a mind which is very peaceful, He who is the Lord of Janaka’s daughter, He who blesses Brahma and also takes care of the entire world.
He who is first Purusha, He who is son of a king, He who is slave of his devotees, He who killed Khara, Ravana and Viradha, He who is sinless. He who is not dependent on others,
He who is pretty, He who is stable, He who is praised by Thyagaraja.
He who is the cooler of the heart of good people, He who rides on the plane of lotus,
He whose feet are worshipped by Hanuman, the enemy of Surasa,
He who destroyed the pride of the group of Asuras,
He who is perennial and praised by Lord Brahma.
He who is in the cage of Pranava, He who has the form of Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu,
He who is the enemy of Ravana, He who supports arts, He who is the treasure of pity,
He who takes care of people surrendering to him, He who makes the mind happy,
He who does not have emotions, He who is the essence of Vedas.
He who has countless virtues, He who wears golden robes,
He who subdued the seven sala trees, He who has shining feet,
He who is very great and wonderful fame ,
He who lives in the heart of great poets, He who takes care of sages and devas,
He who is the consort of the one who was born out of the ocean,
And he who is being sung and praised by Thyagaraja.
Victory to that Lord who is the cause of happiness to the three worlds.

Aanandam, paramaanandam. Almost half an hour of Sri Rama. I've watched it several times. And still it's not enough.
Thank you so much Smt Mrinalini and Guru Smt Sheela Unnikrishnan, I saw my Sri Ramar in this divine performance (just like I saw Sitaa in Mrinalini's performance in Balaramayanam to Vishnupriya's Sri Ramar). Every time I saw kodanda raamar pose here, my heart would leap with joy. Thank you to the musicians too for the delightful full version of this beloved kriti.
Bhairavi has a lovely, gentle voice in Tamizh, I think she will sing well too.

Did you discover Smt Bhairavi for the first time when you commented? There's 315,000 subscribers of SDN's channel at present and many more unsubscribed who have all known that Smt Bhairavi is a great beauty since they first saw her. Just because you discovered her just at the time of your comment does not mean other bhaktas watching SDN's video do not know what a lovely-looking, not to mention divinely accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer (something you overlooked), she is.
People here are just everyday bhaktas. Bhairavi has narrated how she takes great pride in being named from the Shree Lalitha Sahasranamam. Born into a family of Devi Bhaktas to Kuchipudi dancer beautiful Shobha Korambil, sister of beautiful SDN Guru Sheela Unnikrishnan, who are of a Bharatanatyam lineage founded on shrI vidyA, and being named Bhairavi herself, it is no wonder to any bhakta that she is so lovely and dances so beautifully, embodying Ambaal and other Devataas in her dances.
There's no need to lecture us. As bhaktas, we do appreciate real beauty, and not the bollywood conveyor belt that keeps churning out copies of the same dull face over and over that no one relevant can keep apart. Please don't judge us thinking we have bollywood standards, which is something you seem to be more familiar with, even if you at least don't approve. Bhaktas watching SDN performances think all the dancers, Bhairavi as well as the others, are reminiscent of the Devatas (credit to SDN Guru and their bharatanatyam lineage), which is a whole other level and kind of beauty.
Coming to the others. You have overlooked to mention lovely Smt Mrinalini and her divine dancing in this video, through which she showed us Sri Ramar so perfectly. Perhaps since you had suddenly discovered Smt Bhairavi and being stunned, you forgot to watch the dance by the other beauty here, Mrinalini. Fortunately, I saw my Sri Ramar throughout, courtesy of Smt Mrinalini, the music, Guru/SDN, Tyagaraja, all blessed by Sri Rama.
