Okay I don't have a real opinion here but when Callum told Rayla to kill him. I was so confused. If I were Rayla I would've straight up confessed to him right right then and there. I would,ve been like what?! No I,m not killing you ok? I STILL LOVE YOU!! and I don't want you to die. That's what I would've said to him if I were Rayla.
Separated or apart from each other but at the end of the season no longer separated and in season 5 I think we're finally get the Rayllum moments we've wanted for 2 years. And by the way I have a question. Who do you think is going to reconcile them together Will it be Ezran Soren? Or just them.
I'm 100% with you Callum does love Rayla he is just full of emotions He is angry and upset and happy and confused he also just can't forgive especially when she doesn't apologize but Rayla is really trying and probably doesn't know how to apologize, it can be real hard for some people even if they know they were wrong! But I my opinion this is the best rayllum because they will come back stranger next season hopefully or I'm going to go mad!
In my opinion Rayla know she's wrongh, but is harder for her to say a "sorry". She apologize in a different way, by actions and explenations, the same way she apologizr to Ez and Callum when she hide the truth about her assasin mission and their dad's death, she never really said sorry, she explain herself, she hug them, she show vuneravility, she acts like a "sorry person", but she never put it in to words. Very different then Callum, Callum put his regret in words, even if they aren't true he says "i'm sorry" he put it all in too word, but not explenations, like when Ez discover about his dad death, the firts thing Callum do when he knows about it is say "IM SORRY, i didn't tell u before". Rayla apolagize by actions, Callum apologize by words, i think that's one of the reasons he couldn't forgive her, for him, she never said sorry, but for her, she had been doing it since the start.
@@dodozinha1508 exactly it's different to everyone I actually say sorry with actions but most of the time people don't see that and stay upset and that's when I have to say sorry I think that is whats happening between them,Rayla is saying sorry on her own way but Callum doesn't see it
I don't think she's apologised because she still stands by her decision to leave. I realised that their cultures have totally opposite beliefs on how to protect the people you love. Katolis believes in the strength of unity while Moonshadow elves believe the best way to protect someone is to leave them behind. Might be best for them to air it all out and come to a compromise going forward.
I actually do like how this was written. This would actually be realistic in the real world, and no one just easily forgives each other right away. I think Rayla tried apologizing after she realized what she did to him, but after Callum told her he didn't want to talk, she decided to let him be until he was ready to talk about it. After Rayla and Soren's conversation, she's the one backing off first, since she felt like she needed to, and hoping and letting Callum warm up to her if/when he was ready. That's the way I see it, especially since that's the way I act whenever I feel guilty about something. Edit: I have to say this, but the part where Callum was breaking down cuz he thought Rayla didn't make it, it reminded me of season 2 when she thought Callum was dying. She told him, "It doesn't matter what you did before! I just want you to be okay again."
What I love about this is that it clearly shows how generational trauma can really affect someone and how hard it is breaking out of those patterns. Both Callum and Rayla have suffered from abandonement issues most of their young life. Of course, Rayla made the wrong choice to leave, but being that she's coming from a culture that puts duty, honor, and justice above all else, plus believing that the best way to protect your loved ones is by leaving them behind. Knowing that trauma is a huge theme for The Mystery Of Aaravos, I'm really excited to them tackle these issues and how these characters break out of these cycles and patterns. I can definitely envision Callum leaving to protect his loved ones, and there, he would start to realize and understand Rayla's perspective in a different light. The same goes for Rayla, too. Then, both of them can be able to have the Big Feelings Time conversation where the apologies, healing, repairing, rebuilding, and reconciliation can finally begin for both of them where all they do is just talk. I want them to be happy again. Both of their hearts and lives have been through enough. They deserve all the love and happiness in the world. Let's Go TDP Season 5. 🙌🙏
Did anyone else notice the parallel at 9:08 When he says Rayla are you okay? like when he did in season 3 when rayla was crying like right before they first kiss. just thought it was a cool detail
You had it right the first time don’t worry about sparing out other peoples feelings just be honest both sides are at fault and both sides have their own valid reasons Rela wanted to protect something that very important to her because she never really had something like that in her life Callum has been through so much loss and anguish and pain that he didn’t want to lose her either and her not having her for two whole years made him feel so isolated so he just closed out a bit. They both were very natural
I disagree with you, I don’t think Callum should have forgiven Rayla by episode 3 as in my opinion, it would have felt weird, because Callum was heartbroken when Rayla left, as it shows in TTM novel that Rayla wrote a bot that made it sound like she would never come back and that she would die trying to find Viren when she promised him that they would go together and she betrayed him on his birthday. Unless Rayla apologised in the first few episodes and acknowledged that she hurt Callum instead of protecting him, it would have felt more natural for Callum to forgive Rayla.
i agree, she was still putting off the entire thimg from how she was acting throughout the season, callum had the right to be mad. if he just forgave her, it wouldve felt forced
I liked how they handled their relationship this season. It made them feel "real". I think that's how someone would handle their loved one leaving for two years and everything else that happened between them. But that's just what I think.
Callum was right to be upset with Rayla. It makes sense I think that he didn’t warm up right away, but I love that they showed him doing so little by little. On the storm spire…I don’t think those tears were about Rayla honestly (at least not fully). He’d just been controlled by Aaravos at that point so I think the tears were from fear and worry that he’d be used to hurt his friends. Even in the forest when he talks to Ezran and Ezran assumes the conversation is about Rayla..but it wasn’t. Boy has a lot on his shoulders. Anyway! Great video! I think we’ll get more Rayllum next season for sure, but I think they still have things to work through.
Something else I thought of..considering season 4 takes place within a few days most likely…Callum warmed up pretty fast…I mean I don’t think he’s completely not angry anymore just because of a hug…but he’s getting there.
I think we can all agree that they both made mistakes and desperately need to have a serious talk and come to an understanding. A youtuber called The Cov did a theory video on what he thinks is the best way to get a Rayllum reconciliation. He basically said that Callum needs to run away in order to protect the group from him in case he got possessed again. Doing this would make Rayla better understand what she put Callum through by leaving, and it would make Callum better understand Rayla's motives for leaving. This way, they will better understand each other and be able to sincerely apologise and reconcile with renewed promises.
@Reel James Always love your content on The Dragon Prince. This was well done. Rayllum was handled well this season. You can clearly see there's clearly complicated feelings and conflicting emotions between them. As the season went on, little by little, he opened up to her and came around with being comfortable around her. And by the end, the scene with him picking up Rayla's Blade was just heartbreaking 💔, thinking that she was dead, showing how he was feeling so much remorse. You can hear the overwhelming relief and joy in his voice, almost like he was on the verge of tears. It was just beautiful 😭. There's so much more that has yet to come with Rayllum. I know Season 5 is going to be spectacular. Because the writers did confirm basically that S5 will be Rayla-centric and that this is just the beginning with Rayllum. They've been teasing and foreshadowing big things that are coming. Super excited for Season 5. Keep up the great work James. 😊❤🙌🙌👏👏
Thank you, Samai! I appreciate you supporting the channel. 🙏 I do agree that, after letting it sit, Rayllum was handled well. The hug at the end was so worth the wait!
in my opinion, none of them are at fault. callum’s anger is 100% justified. as someone who has also had my girlfriend leave me and then try to speak to me without apologizing or mentioning her leaving, i acted the same. you just can’t forgive this person no matter how in love you are or how much you miss them, because you keep thinking about what they did and that they never apologized after disappearing. rayla, on the other hand, can’t understand WHY callum is so mad at her, because she is used to her loved ones leaving her to protect her, as we see in bloodmoon huntress. runaan talked to her about how he’d leave his loved ones to protect them, and even though at the time she said that she would never do that, runaan’s words came out to be true and now that’s she’s grown, she understands that. her culture taught her that what she did is correct and that’s why she acts stubborn in season 4, and callum doesn’t understand that, the same way that rayla doesn’t understand why callum is so mad at her. whats the aftermath of this? that they need to have a talk and UNDERSTAND each other better. (also the way callum just says “okay” when rayla was speaking to him in episode 3- ouch)
The thing is, Callum isn't your stereotypical "nice guy", he can be dismissive and rude (even somewhat cruel) to those close to him, as we've seen since Season 1. Not the "forget and forgive" type. As a bit of an egocentric myself I can understand him. By the way, Rayla isn't perfect either, she has the similar problem with being self-absorbed to a degree. Also, Rayla leaving was one of the dumbest ideas ever (understandable for 15-year-old teenager), not only because she left the love of her life, but also because she practically doomed the whole world, by going alone and not asking for assistance.
I’d definitely would say leaving for 2 whole years and showing up thinking things can go back to normal I wouldn’t say is out of the zone. We’d all act the way Callum was it’s normal so is understanding they can’t go back to how it was because it’ll never be like that. And part of that is really Rayla having left they both promised to go through it together for emotion maturity they both have their moments in that regard because in past season I would say Callum had an upper hand in it but here their both damaged and now they have to start from the ground up. Favorite moment would have to be when he’s asking her to kill him because he could’ve asked that for anybody heck he could probably ask the dragon queen to do it but Callum trusts Rela more than anything and that’s like not something you can ask easily for just about anybody
i never got to read the other comics i only have access to the first but from reading the first comic and watching the show i can say that in my opinion that is not right her parents left to protect the dragon spire and did plan on coming back from what i have seen and i dont think rayla would think it was normal to leave them but perhaps she was thinking it was normal to protect them no matter what
There's Nothing Normal About Leaving Your Loved Ones For Years. Rayla Leaving On Callum's Birthday Was The S***est Thing She Ever Did! She Better Say Sorry To Her Boyfriend Soon.
There is one thing I am certain about. That Rayla have a like trauma after losing her family and her friends. I mean, ngl, Callum is all she had left and the one she loved (and that is alive). And she think if Callum was to go with her, it will be too dangerous. Okay so, I agree with others that it is very hard to apologise. Plus, that is 2 years since they was together. One is Callum who don’t trust Rayla saying Viren is alive, and Rayla is very certain about that Viren is alive and still There is another possibility- Another thing is maybe she thinks that Viren can find them anytime and as if she stay away, Callum would be fine. I don’t see that Rayla didn’t apologise, instead, I think she did it in a different way. Callum said he don’t want to talk, so Rayla shuts her mouth and wait! This will be easier to apologise to Ezran, so she first do that. And she knows that if she just straight up and say “I am sorry” would not work on Callum. I see she tried to comfort Callum, tried to apologise in a way of explaining things. I don’t think any of their decisions are right or wrong, they have their choice. That is. If one don’t believe, they will argue. And if one believe the decision can make the other safe, they will do that. I supposed that is what is happening. Callum asked Rayla to kill him. Obviously, they both regretted reach other decisions. They still love each other. That is that Callum can’t forgive Rayla, their trust of each other broke apart and we just need to be patient and wait :|
ok this might be long but here we go. I don't think we can put full blame on anyone like you said we can for specific parts in the canon, but Rayla was wrong to leave Callum after they said they would go together (this is from comic 1) so when she comes back in s4 e2 he had a right to be mad. And the reason he stays mad and distant from Rayla is because he gave his heart to her, and she broke it, and he does not want that to happen again. Now Callum did do some things that were uncalled for and unreasonable so I cannot with my full heart blame one character or the other. I actually think it was better this way rayllum was never rushed in seasons 1-3 so why now? Now that i am at the end of that heavy fan rant my favorite rayllum moment this season is actually the first in the season because from then on it I was like oh now it is on the moments we have all been waiting for.
Honestly? Callum is immature, but what he went through is natural. I'm glad TDP making their relationship so realistic. Unlike other shows, I think most ppl would be like Callum if their true love left them.
@@ReelJames I think it was handled very good. I mean it's clear that you can't yust get thing back like they where when you disappear for two whole years. So it was perfect to go slow with rayllum this season. I'm looking forward to season 5.
I completely agree! Rayla leaving is what provoked Callum into acting like that, but you can't blame him. It's a completely rational response to being abandoned, but at least Rayla tried. There is fault on both of their shoulders, they are to blame. i love this show too much
At the top of the Storm Spire he was crying over being posessed. Since TDP is big on touchy subjects, just add anything sexual to what Aaravos did and you get the 4 lettered R word. I'm with Callum on this one, especially because he warms up to her again. This is a lesson to boys dating: don't walk over yourself for other people.
Wait I think I found out something about the cube. So u know how it's called the key of aravos, well when the group go up the cursed caldera to find help for the dragon egg they find lujaine. She explains on how there are 6 nexuses with 1 for each type of magic. Well what if the cube is pulled towards the 7th nexus? The dark magic nexus. I don't know though because the cub doesn't really have a Dark magic symbol but maybe? I would like to know what you think off it?
17:08 He Was Too P*ssed At Rayla For Leaving For 2 Years Then, Now He Pulls Her Out Of The Rocks His Pupils Dilated And Embraces Happily, So In My Opinion It Was A Reunion Worth Waiting For.
I am 90% Callum side and 90% Raylas side because I think really nobody asked her to leave and if she would disgusted with Callum, he would tell her not to leave but maybe he would ask to go with her and I know she’d keep him safe but leaving him like this was so wrong from her and she even confessed I think Callum could’ve gone easy on her at the start but I realise how mad was he and that it takes time he is young like you always mentioned and it’s hard to forgive people like that, is hard and I think she should’ve never left him and we know that she just wanted to protect him but that is really hard to forgive and I think she shouldn’t have done that. Just leave a ladder and leave on his birthday even it doesn’t matter when leaving him was the most wrong thing realised ever done
True. This grudge was pretty stupid. He should have just moved on. He is a prince and didn't make any new friends during the time skip. That's pretty sad. There was enough time to get over Rayla and fall in love with another girl.
Did anyone see that blue piece of paper behind the mirror because with Stellas hands pointing to that paper and guiding Rayla through it i think she scripted the entire conversation . [But tell me if i'm wrong though].
Rayla doesn't get to disappear for two years and thinks she knows what's best for Callum. That's totally her being a mother rather than a girlfriend. And she thinks coming back after two years they can go back to the ways things used to be? No. The past is the past. No one can change it. I don't think Rayla knows Callum that well, unlike all humans and their backgrounds. I know she's desperate to be alone with him and he has every right to be angry at her. It seems as if season 4 is reset on their relationship like they're back to being strangers again. And their story began in Katolis when she tried to kill his brother and father. I hope it was worth it for Rayla. Going after Viren all by herself. And no one asks her to do so. Someone had to be the hero, huh? So far in season 4 there was no "I love you" or soft tenderness etc because of the choices she made and why Callum is like this. Yeah, there are signs that there are a lot of things to figure out. Despite their love for one another, they lack trust in one another. And that totally creates a rift between them. I know, Rayla wants to be with him and he with her. But it doesn't work like that. It takes time. A long time, give or take.
True. I think Rayla is to blame, and only her. While I loved Rayllum the first three seasons, the first episode of season 4 made me mad because I thought it would have been nice for Callum to find a new girlfriend during the time skip. The look on Rayla's face would have been priceless.
@@robertm.german9248 Well, a new girlfriend wouldn’t necessarily be a rebound girl. It’s actually natural to move on after two years without any contact. But that doesn’t matter anyway. If Callum would have found a new girlfriend offscreen the show would probably have lost 90% of its viewers xD
@robertm.german9248 You're right about all of this. Rayla's view on this relationship is very self-centered and ignorance is not a permanent excuse, especially for someone in her position. She needs to improve, yesterday.
It is complicated to say because in season 4, they always argue and having their own problems as well. But after a few episodes they begin to forgive and still have feelings each other’s. In the ending they embrace and a group hug with their friends as well. 😓🫢😊
Clearly Rayla, she has a pretty toxic view of love. Callum is the definition of a perfect partner. In fact I blame the writers not the characters because they messed up big time. In a way this back and forth has killed my interest in the series...
I think Callum was being a brat about something that happened 2 years ago considering soren was barely mad at claudia of course he could be mad if rayla was being to fast but rayla was realy nice while he was realy rude and she was right about viren in the end. He was going over how much he missed her but then he lashes out I rewly don5 get it when all that rayla has showed him is kindness this left me so mad that he refused to welcome her back or having a good conversation. All rayla wanted is for things to be like they were or atleast some things the same with call. When she met him 2 years ago he was stubborn but still kind but when she returns she was hit with a different Callum one that's rude and someone who cant get over what happened 2 years ago and how she left when she ca e back this realy annoys me as I've already says he was so sassy and couldn't stop getting back at her and cutting her off I get why Ezran thought Callum was talking about rayla when he was talking about arravos it was practically the same thing. When aaravos was controlling Callum and talked to rayla like that it was pratically the same way he was treating her himself. It broke me how rayla still tried to be normal with Callum after how 4ude he was to her this is whyrayla is my favourite character. He was right at the end about crying because you could tell he was regretful for being so rude. I think its callums fault obviously.
Happened two years ago? She didn't show up for two whole years. The only one to blame here is rayla. And btw. Viren was dead. He was revived after she gave up looking for him. She didn't find claudia either to stop her from reviving viren so she threw away her relationship with callum and has nothing to show for it. I don't understand how you could blame Callum for beeing hurt that Rayla left him and didn't contact him for two years. To be honest I am dissapointed that he didn't find another girl during these two years. It's enough time to get over her and fall in love with a different woman.

in my opinion, none of them are at fault. callum’s anger is 100% justified. as someone who has also had my girlfriend leave me and then try to speak to me without apologizing or mentioning her leaving, i acted the same. you just can’t forgive this person no matter how in love you are or how much you miss them, because you keep thinking about what they did and that they never apologized after disappearing. rayla, on the other hand, can’t understand WHY callum is so mad at her, because she is used to her loved ones leaving her to protect her, as we see in bloodmoon huntress. runaan talked to her about how he’d leave his loved ones to protect them, and even though at the time she said that she would never do that, runaan’s words came out to be true and now that’s she’s grown, she understands that. her culture taught her that what she did is correct and that’s why she acts stubborn in season 4, and callum doesn’t understand that, the same way that rayla doesn’t understand why callum is so mad at her. whats the aftermath of this? that they need to have a talk and UNDERSTAND each other better.
I like Raylum. It's nice to see a normal couple for a change.
As much as I love rayla she was wrong but callum should have tried to talk to her instead of ignoring her the entire time
I’d definitely would say leaving for 2 whole years and showing up thinking things can go back to normal I wouldn’t say is out of the zone.
*Rayla.
@@hannahburke7328 yeah I know auto type sucks but so t care I got my point across
Wel if you look as Rayla's parents they left her so she thinks it is normal to leave your loved ones
Ohhh, so generational patterns, then?
Good observation, that's pretty sad
i never got to read the other comics i only have access to the first but from reading the first comic and watching the show i can say that in my opinion that is not right her parents left to protect the dragon spire and did plan on coming back from what i have seen and i dont think rayla would think it was normal to leave them but perhaps she was thinking it was normal to protect them no matter what
There's Nothing Normal About Leaving Your Loved Ones For Years. Rayla Leaving On Callum's Birthday Was The S***est Thing She Ever Did! She Better Say Sorry To Her Boyfriend Soon.
Yess i was so bord and finelly a dragon prince vid thank you♥😄
9:14 before Callum wakes up you can see that Rayla is looking at him when hes sleeping
Ezran has more humanity and compassion than his older brother.
One is Callum who don’t trust Rayla saying Viren is alive, and Rayla is very certain about that Viren is alive and still
There is another possibility-
Another thing is maybe she thinks that Viren can find them anytime and as if she stay away, Callum would be fine.
That's fair, Kennedy!
He's also 17, so he can be forgiven for acting his age. (More maturely than his age, in my honest opinion.)

Again fire Video
Thank you, Jonas! 🙏 What did you think of their relationship in season four?
So I think in season five they will understand what she did, and both will come to an understanding
15:46 That's Exactly What I Think.
Callum is holding a 2 year grudge.
If they break up im going to die
@@brownwolf5766 too easy. What would be the point of Callum going for the rebound girl during the time skip?
It’s not the cure.
She killed Viren for two years then Claudia happened to
I do agree that Rayla is in the wrong but she should have apologized for leaving for 2 years instead of just wanting on Callum to bring it up
Every time they lept being rude to ech other i was getting so mad at them both
It is complicated to say because in season 4, they always argue and having their own problems as well. But after a few episodes they begin to forgive and still have feelings each other’s. In the ending they embrace and a group hug with their friends as well. 😓🫢😊
I think that embrace at the end of the season will pave the way for more Rayllum moments in season five!
@@ReelJames Yeah That’s True and I can’t wait for rayllum moments in season 5. 😊😯
Clearly Rayla, she has a pretty toxic view of love. Callum is the definition of a perfect partner. In fact I blame the writers not the characters because they messed up big time.
In a way this back and forth has killed my interest in the series...
Like do something callum
Will aarvavos be free
i think rayla is wrong
He's pushing her away when he's not supposed to.
