I'm jealous! I am going on her sister ship, the Celebration in January and am looking forward to it. I love the Mardi Gras theming, the New Orleans style is my favorite when it comes to the themes. I think the Liberty has similar theming.
The Mardi Gras is awesome! There was so much to do. I'm going on it's sister ship, the Celebration, next year and I'm crossing me fingers I like it as much as Mardi Gras.
I went on the same cruise at the same time as you! I actually saw me and my family twice in your video!😆 that was so cool! Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to see more
This is the first time I have watched one of your videos. I will be on the Mardi Gras in January. I had to check your channel to learn more about why you might love vinegar based bbq sauce because it is also my favorite. I saw you were stationed at Fort Bragg. I was born and raised between Fayetteville and Raleigh. Hope all is well with your home in Florida.
We are thinking about going on the Mardi Gras. We been on Valor twice and loved it. We also loved our drink package. We love the specialty coffee and found a couple of wonderful cocktails we loved too. We’re old so getting drunk isn’t an option but we drank about three or four times a day but we went for the specialty coffee a lot more.
I love the Mardi Gras! I also like the specialty coffee and energy drinks, but for me, paying for a drink package was not worth it for a seven day cruise. I'm happy with a ginger ale while I enjoy the shows and people watching.
It is definitely a different vibe than the other Carnival ships. It was my first "long" cruise so that might be why. I do love the ship and the theming.
I went on the 16th of december. It was a great cruise and Jacky Tang really did a great job. We were so happy we booked our next cruise already on the Jubilee.
I sailed on Mardi Gras January 13th, (my 60th Birthday!!) - January 20, 2024. 2nd time on the ship, first time was Halloween 2022. Splurged this time and got a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony, worth every penny. Didn't get to ride Bolt this time, it was down for maintenance or weather issues most of the time. Planned on eating at Street Eats every day. Only made it on Embarkation day, was too busy eating everything everywhere else. 😂 Looks like you had a great time. Keep up the good work. Retired USAF myself. 😊
You got on the day I got off! And Thank You for your Service! I had never seen so many dining options. I wanted to try the Seafood place and Bonsai grill, but never made it with everything that was going on.
What events should I pack for besides the all white party? I can’t wait to experience all the ship has to offer. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of your experience!
The big themed parties on the Lido deck were the All White party, The Tiki Party, and the 80's dance party. The 80's dance party I see people go all out with spandex, workout gear, headbands, neon colors, etc. It's one of my favorite parties. The Tiki Party, I just wore a Hawaiian shirt. There was also a 90's party inside at the main stage one night but I didn't attend that so not sure if people dressed up for that. There was also two elegant nights, one of them was the same night as the White Party. I've seen people dress in fancy prom dresses and tuxedos, but not required. It is just a chance to dress more formal on the ship. You can get as dressed up and into the theme as you want, or just go as you are. Either way, the parties are always fun and high energy! Have fun.
Yes. I think the ship holds roughly 6000 passengers and some examples of the crowds are the fact that you had to line up 30 minutes to get into the comedy shows. I never did get a seat in the piano bar because it was always full. The shows in the theater where always crowded and the shows on the main stage where crowded. I always did the early shows so maybe later at night, the shows are not as crowded but in my experience, every where there were crowds.
Can you get ginger ale at the bar only?? Or is it at the soda fountains as well?? Also, is Guy Pig and Anchor open for buffet on embarkation day?? All day? Or just for a short period of time ?
I just got it at the bars, I did not look for it at the soda stations so I am not sure. The Pig and Anchor's buffet was open on embarkation day, but it is only till 2 or 3, then it shuts down and opens again at 5,, I believe, for dinner. Each restaurant is different but if I remember correctly, Pig and Anchor is open from 12 to 3 each day for the lunch buffet.
I didn't get a deal on this cruise. This cruise was my birthday gift to myself because I have been infatuated with the roller coaster on Mardi Gras since it was announced. I don't know how I got it, but last year I received a "free room" promotion which was a cruise for $100 per person which means a room was only $200 and then Carnival gave $200 back in on board credit. But those were for their older ships like Elation, Paradise, Freedom, Liberty, etc.
@@metrotilecreative I know he's going to Venezia till March or May and then he'll be back on Mardi Gras, but I am not sure for how long. I really liked him.
Nothing beats a Sail Away party on a Carnival Cruise!!!!
I love them! Nothing better to get a cruise started than doing the Wobble!
I was also on the cruise last week and it was epic. The sail away was so much fun. The whole ship was lit. This was one of the best cruises ever!!!!
I love the Mardi Gras! It is one of my favorite ships and I love the whole theming of the ship and bars. Was Jacky Tang your cruise director?
We love the Mardi Gras! Been on her twice and will be back on her in November. Thanks for taking us along

Going in November 09-2024
Went on the same cruise and you can actually see me in the background of a clip that’s funny! Was definitely a fun trip!
I loved it. I could have spent a few more days no problem with all the entertainment.
I love the Mardi Gras
The Mardi Gras is awesome! There was so much to do. I'm going on it's sister ship, the Celebration, next year and I'm crossing me fingers I like it as much as Mardi Gras.

That's Awesome! I recorded all seven days, just need to get them edited and uploaded.

Thanks for watching! I lived in NC for about 23 years and most of it was out in Raeford so of course I'm biased when it comes to BBQ.

@@HangingOutWithMike I understand what you mean, however we felt it was ok for us considering how much specialty coffee we drank. 🤪🤪🤪
Ship looks amazing and large. Need to try this one. Doesn't look like the typical Carnival crowd
Jacky Tang was doing his Thang on our cruise too. I loved him as the cruise director.
I’m going on my very first cruise on the Mardi Gras on April 20th. So excited
You picked a great ship to start with! There is so much to do and the ports are nice.
ahh man I miss this ship , guys burger was my favorite spot too
I love Guys Burger! I wish I could find a comparable burger on land.
Just got off Mardi Gras.. wish we got to see Christmas stuff. Lol. I did a couple of Vlogs too. Ty for sharing
Next time you'll have to go during the holidays! It's only the second time I have seen a ship decorated and it was pretty cool.
We are Platinum with Carnival great perks Diamond is next.
I just want to get to Platinum so I can have the priority check-in and boarding perk. The rest are just bonuses for me.

My family went on the Mardi Gras January 13th also
Great video Mike!
Thanks! I appreciate you watching.
Going in may , hope it doesn't rain.
If it rains, it usually doesn't last long. But there is so much to do inside that you might not even notice if it's raining.
Nice!!! Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊

Don't forget to bring an outfit for the Mardi Gras Show and Parade!
@@kennywalker4091 I did forget about that, but only the King and Queen walk in the parade.
@@HangingOutWithMikewhen does the parade happen?
Considering Marci Gras or Celebration. Never been on carnival. Did you find yourself in a lot of crowded areas on the ship?
Yes. I think the ship holds roughly 6000 passengers and some examples of the crowds are the fact that you had to line up 30 minutes to get into the comedy shows. Oh okay great! Thanks so much! Enjoyed your vlog!
What days did you go? We went Jan 6th through the 13th on the Mardi Gras.
I see myself and my husband past 14 minutes so it was the same cruise! lol
How funny. There's 6,000 people on the ship and you saw yourself.
Solo sailing is really expensive. How where you able to find a deal for your cruise?
I didn't get a deal on this cruise. This cruise was my birthday gift to myself because I have been infatuated with the roller coaster on Mardi Gras since it was announced. @@Jrock5335 Thank you! You too!
Lol I am 14 and I am a gold card member 😅
I'm jealous. I didn't discover cruising till I was 40. In Montana, we didn't have any ports, lol.
Which dates did u go?
I went on January 6th. Jacky Tang was my cruise director and he was awesome!
@@HangingOutWithMike I hop ehes my cruise director when I go in Dec....long time away but hope hes there still

It’s not MSC banning ducks, it’s DISNEY!! 😮
Thanks! I misread that. Of course it's Disney. They'll try and stop anything that is free and fun, so they can figure out a way to capitalize on it.
Are you going to post other days
Yes, I have the whole cruise, just working on editing the videos.
If this is what on that day, i will skip this not for me.
Cruising is so much fun. At would try it at least once. There are shorter cruises you could try.
