3/16 will last x2 lifetimes every where except the firebox. Which the bottom will probably rust out in 15 years. Even my 1/4 I just assume I'm going to have to replace the bottom sometime in the distant future.
I made a circle cutter attachment for my plasma cutter to make jobs like this easier. I think you did a better job free-handing a lot of the parts, however.
Excellent Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you tried - Tarbbatigan Beyond Dreams Tip (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a great exclusive guide for quitting smoking minus the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my close friend Aubrey finally got cool success with it.
Thinking of building at minimum a 40 x 60 shop. Might build the ibeam frame and roof so I can use it and later the concrete and walls. I helped weld a 24x30 for my father and you can barely walk in there.
Nice build, it turned out sweet. Gearing up to start mine in a few weeks, have 500 gal propane tank and plan to use a smaller tank for warmer but going to make my box out of 1/4" plate.
Would I have any problems reaching a coocking temperature if I add a box on top of the firebox? What I mean is to place another 5 briskets in that box.
I got all my critical dimensions from the following website. Down at the bottom has a calculation for fire box opening. www.feldoncentral.com/bbqcalculator.html Thanks for watching and commenting.
It's a Hypertherm 30XP. Rock solid machine. I've missed the gouge function on the bigger machines but other than that it's perfect. My dad has a M.A. in Music Theory so I grew up listening to classic music. Hello from Texas.
Great job!! just started my reverse flow and I picked up a few really good pointers. Speaking of pointers ,, nice dog watching you work 👍 Thanks again for posting your vid 🇨🇦🍻
I'm german and try to explain it in english. I'm a metal worker since 1984. Your work is very "old school". It's done like at home in a private garage. Sorry, but in my opinion professional work looks different.
@@LewisRenovation Everything o.k. ✌✌ Sorry, but maybe it's only because I see it through the eyes of a long time metal worker and welder. Go on and do it the way you wanna do it. Greetings from Germany. 😎😎
Of course I'm alwsys working to improve. And my welding is better today than it was two years ago. But I'm sure it will never be as good as someone with your experience. Plus, it's a BBQ, not a bridge :) Zum Wohl
Thanks! Family wanted to use the BBQ for 4th of July so I tacked in a small piece of expanded metal. The next week I cut it out and welded in expanded metal that went from end to end and also on the shelf in front.
When you opened the door a bunch of smoke came from the firebox area. That should not be happening. There should be zero. I dont think you know what reverse flow is.
Great looking work👌
Thank you!
Very cool video!....great looking pit 👍🏾

No joke great music
Thanks. A little Bach is good for you.
could u make a video on how u notched the angle iron for the cook racks?.
Thanks. I'm always looking for ideas for videos.
Would 3/16" thick plate be as good as 1/4" thick plate and BBQ smoker last as long outside?

De nada amigo
There is to much free space in that shop, something not right lol....
Don't worry, 18 months later it's full of "stuff"! :)
I'm sorry, as I do the calculation to know the size of the smoke entering the pipe
I put a link in the video description for a bbq calculator that I used. Please let me know if you need something else
Lewis Renovation & Repair I wanted to take a doubt with you from my smoker could you take a look at my project
Sure, I'd be happy to. Do you have pictures, drawings, etc?
Lewis Renovation & Repair yes
Feel free to send to joeu235@gmail.com. I'd be happy to take a look.

Your choice in music is impeccable. Not to shabby on the smoker either 🤠

I got a pic now.

How did it turn out?
Would I have any problems reaching a coocking temperature if I add a box on top of the firebox? What I mean is to place another 5 briskets in that box.
I would think it would work if you made the firebox, air vents, and chimney bigger.
Enjoyed watching this. Good work.
Thank you!
You're a master! Thanks for posting. Absolutely phenomenal video. Did you powder coat it after?
thanks. Very nice words. I have not painted it. The main chamber is 3/8 thick and the fire box 1/4. Hopefully it doesn't rust out in my lifetime
verry NICE
HOW did u calculate FB to CC opening????

He's the best dog I've ever had. Thanks for the nice comment. Good luck with your pit!
When your done, we need to have a Canadian Texan cook off!
That's a nice build. What angle did you cut the top of the legs?
Thanks. I cut them on a radius to roughly match the 24 in wide tank.

Very nice. Did you check your boat for surface rush, just asking cause it happened to me.
I checked it over yesterday. It's fine, but it's also a fiberglass boat.
Great build and video. How did you finish off the cooking racks?
Thanks! Family wanted to use the BBQ for 4th of July so I tacked in a small piece of expanded metal. The next week I cut it out and welded in expanded metal that went from end to end and also on the shelf in front.
Great job, there. You make it look easy (assume it isn't).
What's the dimensions on the main tube, and the size of the reverseplade?
Main tube is 24 inches. The reverse plate is about 20 inches wide. There is a link in the description that has a great design worksheet.
Your Weimaraner wants to learn welding 😃 teach him
I've tried but he's a slow learner... or maybe I'm a bad teacher.😁
