I like this translation of the lyrics- the version that most English versions of the song use doesn't quite give off the same vibe as a more detailed translation, but this version feels like it got it right! Thanks KISAKI and EastNewSound!

@@Archimedes.5000 They do feel better to me, both closer to the original meaning and also less repetition through not being able to find a better word to try and vary the simpler take... not that the original english one was bad but it never fully sat right and i was actually considering having a go at my own retry before finding this.
this is maybe imperfect too, perhaps a blend of the two would work best?

for some reason i can't edit this, so i was going to change that to say that it's imperfect in a similar kind of "don't think English was the author's first language" way which leads to some strange grammatical constructions. maybe a blend of the two with a native-speaking editor would work better, or even just minor tweaks this one... a few words here and there really... hmm, i might be tempted again?
