Just found this video. Nice design. I already built a double drop-turner out of PVC, but I like this much better. I will use one of my steel silhouette target stands for the 2x4. Thanks for the link to the bearings! 👍
I'm afraid the base was given to me by a friend who had them made years ago, so not something commercially available. It's a pretty simple design made by some guys on his farm who knew how to weld.
I found 5-7.5 lbs works the best depending on the swing speed you want, 10 is too much, 2.5 is too light. The placement up and down the stick also change things. Best thing would probably be to experiment with your placements. And I just placed a wood screw in different increments and secure the weights with some electrical tape. I use the weights in my garage gym as well so I wanted to be able to take them on and off.
Thanks, planning on working on building it this weekend. I was able to order a base so I'm good to go. I'll try 5lbs first and go from there. @@JAShooting

Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Wondering where you got the base. I have some but a 2x4 won’t fit

Also wondering if you ever settled on the weights and how you attached them to the 1x2, thanks for the help
