Thanks for watching! I'm excited to use this one in the next video! Beaker (My kittens name) is a world class inspector, this one passed, lets hope I get this lucky next time.
The sheep make me so happy at the beginning of each video. So excited to see another restoration! I want to give it a try to give my kids some sturdy toys that aren’t plastic.
Beautiful job on the wheels. And those black plugs on the shafts, instead of the crimping, is a clever fix. Thanks for sharing your work. Surprised a three eyed sheep hasn't appeared yet. You know, the lead paint and all.
Great job as usual. Love how you brought the rims to a mirror finish. Attention to details like that take your restorations to a different level than most other restorations on UA-cam. Your collection is amazing.
You know it's hard to believe how far Tonka has come. They actually started out making gardening tools during WWII, and in 1946 there was a bunch of surplus sheet steel leftover, so they came up with the idea of making kids toys (a steam shovel and crane at first) using the surplus 20 gauge steel. They were originally Mound Metalcraft, but came up with the name Tonka from their location in Minnetonka, MN. the name Tonka didn't officially change until 1955 when they found the toys were more popular and took over the factory. Pretty cool.
So many of us kids had these and they were given away stored carelessly or left outdoors. My stuff was taken care of. Years ago in the 50s my mom bought me a beautiful Walgreens semi .It was white with dark blue stripes and I had it for years until it was given away. I really enjoy seeing these restorations.
You videos are very relaxing to watch. They always bring me back to a time when life was quite a bit more simple. As shown in the toys that you so painstaking Repair and refurbish. Thank you for your hard work and dedication and for creating content like this.
Judging by the amount of trucks in the back during the intro, I'd say you have plenty of awesome restauration jobs ahead. Always a pleasure to see you bring these old toys of my childhood back to life.
I wonder how the guy putting that toy together for the first time would have felt to know that 67 years later it would still be around, in decent shape, and being restored for another lifetime.
That's a great thought....I imagine he or she would react with great surprise at the incredible restoration and the cost/value increase of such an otherwise insignificant object over the years.
You do Absolutely fantastic work.I'm very inspired by you to do the same for myself I hope one day.I grew up fully same toys it's amazing to see these tonkas restored. I'm very much appreciate all of the very of the detailed listings of everything you do and the products you use. I find that even more inspiring. Your video productions are excellent and super enjoyable. Please keep them coming. Thank you John M
Challenge for you! I love watching you restore these old 50s metal toys. Especially how you get the bumpers and wheel hubs to shine like mirrors... but can you get the entire toy to shine like a mirror??? You could always paint it once you've done the challenge.
Setiap kali mainan ini dihidupkan sekali lagi oleh chip, saya tidak tahu apa yg chip pikirkan tapi saya yakin tiap kali dia sedang merestorasi mainan ini dia sedang bernostalgia dengan masa kecilnya
Good day Chip! Enjoyed watching this and seeing the new and approved one. I just think it’s another pretty wrecker to add to the fleet. Job well done and flawless. Peace 🤟😎
I wish kids still played with these kinds of toys instead of them being hermetically sealed in some collectors’ cases. These kinds of toys used to bring a ton of joy to the kids who first owned them. Now all today’s kids want are cellphones, iPads, Nintendo switches, and the latest electronic gaming systems, that don’t even last anywhere near as long as these gorgeous old toys. They don’t know the joy of having to use your imagination to play with a sturdy, shiny new, metal truck that certainly lasts longer that any of today’s crappy electronics.
Je découvre votre chaine , superbe travail , merci de France pour vos vidéos / I discovered your channel, great job, thank you from France for your videos.
Number 1: I love your marble cat! The beluga whale front of this tower is devine. It screams "I am a big, brawny beast that can handle anything!" You made it a work of art! Your hard work on the rims and tires really set this off! Red color for some reason was the one that used lead to bring out the brightness. So just beware of that fact.
I have never seen that model new but I would be willing to bet good money that with what you have done to this one makes it better than new! That Green Car at the end looks like a Chrysler Air Flow.
OK this is the 2nd video now that I feel cheated. The sandblasting is my favourite part!! I like it better when you show the whole thing being sandblasted it's what calms me
Cat scan done! This turned out so very nicely that it has a triple A grading. I love the shine on that paint, in fact we caught a wee glimpse of the restorer in one of the views. You have to have insurance on that collection for sure now. Are we going to see the green coupe getting a face lift on the next video? Always amazing and always surprising. I love the way the wheels turned out. Thanks for the great work on restoring history.
De nuevo otra restauracion de este Tonka camion grua, que quedo como todos los proyectos que usted nos presenta quiero decir Excelente, mis saludos acompañado de mi respeto y aprecio para usted desde Venezuela amigo.
I'm the same age as that adorable lil Tonka, and could *really* use a restore like this myself from @Chip Channel Restorations. Another gorgeous job, Chip.
🏆Genial master ... saludos desde Viña del Mar Chile👍👍👍
A new row truck especially for towing your older vehicles! Fantastic! Love the curious cat at the end.
Thanks for watching! I'm excited to use this one in the next video! Beaker (My kittens name) is a world class inspector, this one passed, lets hope I get this lucky next time.

Some Person . Well I was born in the same year, and it makes me want to buy one for myself.
More likely a woman.
I don't know 😕 I'd say possibly like the Guy on an Automobile Assembly Line seeing Cars He'd built in the 1960s being restored..

These 50s trucks have such a flare I love them
They really are pretty cool! So simple, yet such a higher quality than today's toys.

The shine on those wheels makes them look like the old deep dish mag wheels. Great job!
