    Let me just say I enjoy your perspective. Even when I don't necessarily agree. I'm not a dancer, but I'm a huge Larry fan and the very things you seem to criticize him about are the things that I love and I believe others love. The fact that he is not going after the traditional beats but accents other parts of the music that we tend to ignore, is what makes him unique and special. In my opinion, Larry is one of the best storytellers when he's dancing, and venues like BTM or stage shows or workshops are where he shines . For instance, round 1, he was telling a story it wasn't about the moves, it was about creating a mood and a scene for you to get trapped in. I love that about him and when he's doing a song that actually has lyrics, Oh man, forget about it, he's the best at emoting and expressing the heart of the music in my opinion. As I said im not a dancer and not necessarily a lover of hip hop in general but Les Twins (especially Larry) have definitely made me fall in love with the art.
    Thanks for what you do I enjoy your perspective and the way you express your love of dance and your analysis. Be blessed.

    just watching all these recently videos on larry i truly feel like as a complete dancer he is not thats more laurent within hip-hop he is literally a style of dance like when you watching a popper, housing, locking or bboy etc. and you know what to expect its just there movement & choice of musicality is whats going to make that person different in that category of dance then theirs larry style, which is nothing but limitation of movement of the music using nothing but mainly pace change, technique, musicality & footwork which is not easy to do because many dancer gets lost within the music which laurent does at a great high level though & like their instagram names the term of on & off makes sense to me. i can see why dancers can admire his style because how locked in he be into the music no matter how much folks want larry dance to be their way of thinking he stay true to himself & i can do none but respect it

    The thing to with Larry is that we all know he can groove and flow and all that, but since 2017 he absolutely began to change the way he approaches music, it just is what it is with him. Every year his style changes and every round he does is the same... until the next year. It's like he forgets every move he's done and adds new sigs and does them all year.
    I wish he would take what he has done and mash it all tougher, specifically his groove and bounce from 2009 and the krump elements he had in 2019 and 2014. He's not predicted on groove and flow anymore, I wish he was, but apparently it doesn't matter anymore because every battle I've ever seen him in since like 2015 or this years Battle Bad he *always* make it to at least the Semi's.
    With Laurent I've seen him explore Jookin a little more, I saw some buck jumps, and I even saw him hold a toe stall into a spin. From just Battle Bad to the Next Urban Legend battle, I've seen him learn Amipano, Gwara Gwara, leg work, expanded his house even more, buck jumps, I saw a krump chest pop in like a balance point, he expanded upon his concepts, expanded on that little left shoulder tut thing he does. He's like a totally different dude lowkey.

      That's the journey of most skilled artists/dancers. They cannot remain the same because they feel the need to constantly upgrade their skills without losing their authenticity in order to appreciate their passion. Once they're stagnant it's over, it means they no longer have it.

    • @makesmartTROYces
      @makesmartTROYces 2 роки тому +1

      @@hybridroid see I won't even say that really because Larry is like I said in the Semis of like every comp (I remember off the top of my head) he's been in since 2015 other than JD 2019
      Every dancer really looks the same for the most part. Like look at Majid, just rewatching him in Fusion Concept vs Ruin and Mijo and its like a spitting image.
      I think the thing is that with Larry and Laurent they created new movement, style no one else has so it'll be more prone to look the same. Their style is their foundation really.

      You got it too much body control without any rhythm or connection to the music. It’s like he doesn’t feel the music like he used to just hears the beats. And what I’ve seen how he dances just looks so stiff and unnatural even in 2018 battle bad he was stiff but still had better range of movements. His musicality, body control are on point but the creativity with his freestyles isn’t as prevalent as before like their battle with King Charles and Prince Jaron at Make Lemonade Benefit 2017 his rounds there had more of an umph changing with the music instead of keeping that same beat killing moves on different songs

      He does this everytime to larry I've noticed, it may be to him not really vibing to his style I believe. Tbh most people that don't like larry analyze him to hard and look for certain distinctions with his style, but fail to realize that he doesn't really dance to fit one style completely nor one specific grove in the music(it's literally the twins whole thing not to do that lol). If anything I feel that they go overboard with trying to be different, only because it limits them to their signature moves a lot, but they still kill 90% of the dancers they face and if they lose its always been a close call.

    • @T_money808
      @T_money808 2 роки тому +10

      @@dwking-pt8hg Not that it’s just his rounds are most of the time nowadays underwhelming there’s no connective flow to the music to have build ups, it’s usually just a straight line of beat killing with crazy isolations. There is a lack of movement in these sets, and to replace that lack of movement he fills with too many isolated beat kills, which is what makes him look so stiff, he always had lots of isolations but his range of movements were better before. Killing every beat isn’t necessary he can do what he wants ofc but objectively it becomes repetitive the comments analyzing larry understand that his style before used to be much better objectively speaking. People are just speaking objectively this current style does have problems that’s just a fact. Subjectively I miss how much more fluid his style was different transitions, levels, musicality while maintaining creativity and not staying in one pocket of beat killing, his rounds now just come off kinda flat, using the same signatures every freestyle I see, although this exchange was the best I’ve seen in awhile.

Like another poster said, I think Larry is very opinionated and just trying to dance. He's not exactly on the same path as Laurent, and that's fine. It's okay not to be the very best or have the most vocabulary or what have you. He's just a guy who dances on a high level who loves to dance his way. 4.Anyone who says Larry was repetitive clearly didnt observe Soyuz.
    Yall be moving blind wtf.Also Metal lit analysis but consider acc observing Larry.Been hearing Larry back in the day was better,but im seeing more control and less stiffness over his moves now than before.Once again yall moving blind.Just look before formulating a contradictory truce against Larry.
    Love

    Larry was definitely injured, he said so himself. He clearly tapered off as it got worse throughout the set. I still think there were some fire rounds from him, Jesus Christ. I see people in the comments being hyper critical of an injured dancer in a non-battle exchange of ideas, come on guys 🤣 also go watch the clear audio. I don't care if people want to say Larry is doing tried and tested moves, so what. Go look how he beat kills on the clear audio. Nobody can do that, nobody, so disrespectful to try take away from him because of this chilled event where he was injured 😄 and as for trying to say the guy locked into only classic popping moves was somehow better because it was consistent?? Yoh the urge to be contrarian is strong here. On the one hand predictability from Larry is bad, but from Soyuz it's great?? The takes here are all over the place

    for me Larry doesn't lack vocabulary he lacks hip hop.. he just Identify himself as an " hip hop new style" .. even Laurent said that

      it's just who he is, its invalid for anyone to say they lack hip hop because they wouldn't have been hip hop judges for Juste Debout 2 years in a row, or even accepted into hip hop competitions.

      I think he doesn't lack anything but these last couple of years he's become too stationary. I remember back in the days he had a lot of range and style

      @@makesmartTROYces I'm not saying " they " I'm talking about Larry .. laurent said that Larry identify himself as new style hip hop .. and he definitely doesn't have that much groove or pounce in his dance as Laurent does .. and that's okay it doesn't take away anything from him .. he is still one of the greatest.. and they're the greatest

    Larry swings his arms and body around very fast then catches a beat. That’s some foogazi stuff, people always fall for it

      Now that’s not true. Larry problem is that he has separated himself from purely hip hop to all styles. So he dances with a mix of the fundamentals he got from hip hop with his high level isolation, pace, and musicality. He adds to that animation and sometimes krump. I think that’s because he didn’t wanna dance like Laurent. Laurent is really true to hip hop. Now Laurent can also do all styles sometimes, but he never loses the groove of hip hop. Larry at times get in that pocket like when battled rubix recently. But it’s something that he doesn’t use consistently. His dance is easy to identify meaning that you can’t hide that you’re copying his style.

      @@yannyowane795 niggas can't hide it lmao honestly who do you see out here copying laurent or other dancers, they dance in a way as to where you rllu can't replicate the feeling buh with larry its almost like a popper where you can pretty much replicate everything except his sauce and dynamics.
