Upgrade to high flow air line fittings. It makes a huge difference. You have to change ALL THE AIR FITTINGS to high flow. From the fitting in the air compressor all the way to the fitting screwed onto the tool. I use 3/8” air hose and bought the Earthquake Xtreme Torque 1/2” air impact. It didn’t have the punch I thought it should. After I switched to high flow fittings it was like different tool. Much more power.

Agree with the fittings but also 1/2 hose especially at long lengths if you want to closer to maximum power.

Thank you for this review! It’s hard to find reviews about this air impact.

I bought the Thor a few months back & was a little disappointed it wouldn't take off a honda crank bolt. (1/4 line & 1/4 fitting @ 130 psi.) I took the muffler out and and it removed the crank bolt with ease. I've been running it without the muffler ever since. It's a little bit louder but worth the extra power.

I’ll have to keep that in mind. As of now I’m not sure if the Thor and this Earthquake are the same internally, but that’ll be for another video or until someone else confirms it.

I’ve had the Thor for about a year now, works great. Not sure what compressor you’re running but it’s very air hungry compared to just about any 1/2 drive. The 1/4 line is your problem, even bumping up to 3/8 would make a huge difference. Muffler off is a good move as while but upping line size you might be able to keep it quiet and still have the power you need

@ryanthomas9685 I know the 1/4 line definitely holds it back. But 3/8 hose is that much more bulky and harder to move around. My other air tools would be a lot less easy to move around as a result. I've definitely considered it.

@ryanthomas9685 it's actually 3/8 hose. Not sure why I thought it was 1/4". 1/2 hose and fittings are ridiculously huge, 3/8 is very manageable.

Switch to a 25 foot 3/8 hose with high flow fittings. Let that impact breathe!

How's this gun been holding up? Any air leak out of that little hole in the handle?

There seems to be no major air leak, but just a little oil coming from that little hole. I have an update video coming soon!

It's holding up well. I haven't experienced any leaks in the hole on the handle or on the trigger yet, but I will have an updated review in a month or two.

@@random1110111 Nope. I've moved almost exclusively to 18v Milwaukee. It's far more convenient. When bolts are stubborn I have the Nitrocat 1250k which is a beast if you have a good amount of air.
