That was a beautiful place to walk round and visit and the beach as well and the shops fish and chips lunch cafes and I bet it will be very busy in the summer and seeing a holiday place for a stay for a few days or weeks thanks again enjoyed your coffee
I went there with my parents at age 11, and I loved It, also the flying Scotsman was there for a visit my dad was dribbling with pleasure seeing It, I would love to go there again one day 😊
If you are thinking of going there the coastal path up North hill to the top is well worth the effort for the wonderful views. Also old Minehead with its steep cobbled street and old thatched fisherman cottages behind St Michaels Church is also worth a visit.
I love Minehead , what you see is what you get . Honest little place , good to be a base for exploring n/Devon . Can be as quiet or as busy as you like .The choice is yours. With the Railway (Preserved ,steam and diesels) , and a good modern more upmarket Butlins .Its a great place to stay . Been to it loads of times , in the past 30 yrs ,or so .
I love Minehead, we’ve been visiting since 1997! I’ve seen the changes and they’ve been positive so far, like the sea defences as one example! We try to go every year. I’d like to end my days here
We love it here and to think we thought of moving to another place just for the change in scenery! We've rethought that idea because I think we are in the prettiest and best place - the small seaside town of Minehead.
I'd like to thank you for your Minehead video. The shells on the front denotes the walk route I think. I have today booked to go again in about 3 weeks time at a hotel/pub called Stones. Thank you again.
So lovely brings back memories, loved the beach there! if you haven't been yet maybe go to North Norfolk places like Wells next the sea with the beach huts along the beach in front of a pine forest it has a beautiful beach too also Holkham beach, Blakeney etc in North Norfolk, also Southwold in Suffolk if you haven't been, just some suggestions :)
went to butlins there many years ago, place might have changed now but minehead was a complete dive, no town to speak of no beach just rocks cant say i would bother again.
Unfortunately, Minehead is a shadow of its former self. When I was a kid the harbour was stank of fish and was always busy with fishermen repairing nets or offloading their catch. It was a proper working fishing harbour. Strings of coloured lights hung from lamppost to post along the seafront, the indoor market sold the best clotted cream in the west. The hospital was a hospital and all the shops were open. Up the top end, there was a brilliant model shop that also sold air pistols, and two more really good toy shops lower down. Even the gift shops were more original than the generic fodder available now. I used to play mini golf in Blenheim Gardens and crazy golf in the sea front amusements. I (still) know every passageway and footpath. Butlins was always there but it hadn't taken over the town then, and there was no direct route to it, you had to come through the town to get there. Everything was tended to and kept up. Now its just another generic hole and most (a lot) of the shops have closed. I used to go up the hill (Bossington) at dawn and stop between the cattle grids, walk seawards and pick mushrooms before the sun came up. Hopcott Close was my second home with a 'just about' view of the sea. I used to get tea and scones at Selworthy.. Still go back occasionally but it makes me sad to see the 'improvements' that have destroyed the character of the place.
Minehead is lovely. We still have many shops that are open, and what other town can beat the summer beauty of the tree-lined Avenue? No town is perfect but we love it here.
Thanks for this Neil. Brings back childhood memories of holidays with parents after coming from south London. Really appreciate this. Btw wonder why it had a welsh name when its a 2 hour drive to Wales!

Never visited North Devon really only Clovelly which was disappointing..Great to see this area. Have you done the Nefyn Peninsular?
Minehead is in Somerset
It’s again not for me But guessing it’s ok for families at butlins
Great video but I would you would narrate instead of having captions.
I dont' do that on my channel 👍🏻
You really NEED a wind muffler for your mic!!
I’ve got one - (got four!) but they don’t always work in crazy wind
