I've noticed almost every repair bill is now $1000 or more per vehicle no matter what the repair is.

Not with me, just charged a customer $60 bucks for a starter replacement, my low hour labor, my max being 80. Depends on the car but it's not surprising to get charged 600 bucks at shops now a days.

Would've been great to be there in person. So much missing context in the video. Thanks for sharing anyway though, some good tidbits in there.

Thats parts only...pretty common on crd. Do your oil changes on time and correctly, or deal with the consequences.

lol these instructors are all theory but the reality in the car is another different circumstances even today's software does not decree a damaged chain it has happened to me in several cars

"These instructors" give you a much needed base knowledge/theory of operations so you know how things are intended to work. They're not preaching a "bible of repairs". It's your job to evaluate the problem at hand and use your knowledge, tools & available info to follow the data you gather to reach a conclusion of the needed repair.

@@SuperMarioDiagnostics In these times and with such technology, the fact that the software does not detect a stretched chain is a joke, it is because the brands do not invest money, everything is cheap after the mechanic breaks down.

@@gabrielbertoni9698 that days is made available through adaptation data. It will reveal what a scope sometimes cannot. Because the tensioner takes up slack in timing discrepancies

@@SuperMarioDiagnostics Yes, Super Mario, what I mean is that nowadays electronics control everything, how can something so important escape? Engineering error, what happens is that the new engineers don't have the slightest idea of what they're doing, and if not, look at what happens with the new Tundras, everything is done in software, but the reality is different.
