It's so interesting to hear from this guy who knows his stuff what it was like back in the day. Times were so different. This was the time to be a rail fan. Wow. . .
Being an American, living in Califonia. My friend an i took a trip to Muskoka with him to visit his cousins, where we went to an island that his Uncle owned witj House. Fished and explord by boat to one of the hreat lakes, and french camp. It was so beautiful, and wonderful people. Canada is just incredible. Mo Americana. At least not then. Thank you for this film and comentary.
I purchased the first 4 volumes of Railway Recollections back in the 1990's on original VHS format. I recently watched volume 5 on UA-cam, a pleasant surprise (I didn't know a vol. 5 existed!) . Glad to see these films will get a wider audience via UA-cam. They're now a part of Southern Ontario railroad history.
I have talked to a few people who were rail fans in this time and they took footage where they could because the road system was not functioning as good as it is now
