    This is literally the best Camera comparison video I've ever seen, and I have been watching a lot lately! Thank you for this... it's really helping me make a decision.
    It seems like Sony has the most realistic colors and very good focusing capabilities, but gets laggy when going from bright to dark settings.
    The Canon is so good in dim settings, but its colors seem over saturated at times and doesn't do well with focusing changes.
    Panasonic has great focusing and dim lighting abilities, but the colors seem unnatural at times and the stabilization doesn't seem to be its strong point.
    Lots to consider.

    Awesome review!. I would go with the Canon G7X ii which is made in Japan, has far superior quality, and much better Customer Support. The RX100 and the LX10 are made in China and the quality is very poor. Sony and Panasonic calibrate their cameras pretty much the same, as far as full Auto mode goes. Canon likes to calibrate theirs more on the cool side, for some reason. So, if you like how the video looks on the Sony and the Panasonic, you can set the WB (White balance) to the following. Set the mode to "P" (Programmed Automatic) and set the WB to A=3 and G=3. The WB is very important on how your video looks, setting it to warm, is a lot more appealing to the eye.

      @nikolasavic450 7 років тому

      What a fast answer, you are amazing :) I am considering ditching my old Canon DSLR (40D) for this little camera. The biggest fear with Sony I have is that I noticed that it overexposing the highlights, like there is something wrong with dynamic range. Also, is it possible to make a photos more vibrant when shooting in Sony camera settings? I like the skin tones on Sony the best though. Are photos really comparable with dslrs?

    • @ONSADE
      @ONSADE 7 років тому

      Overexposure will occur depending on the settings you are using, I don't believe the camera suffers on that aspect. You can always fix this with the proper settings. You can shoot raw and adjust the color on post, there are also some camera presets that adjust the colors when shooting. The picture quality is very good, almost dslr level, but you have to remember that a dslr is only as good as the lens you are shooting with, meaning you can have a Canon T3 Rebel with a $2000 lens and the picture quality will be amazing and you can also have a Canon 5D Mark IV with a $150 lens and have crappy pictures. The Sony is a compact point and shoot wit superb quality.

    • @nikolasavic450
      @nikolasavic450 7 років тому

      Yes, I am aware of that, firstly I wanted Sony a6300 or a5100 but realised I would spend much more to get decent lens (rx100 has that included), and the camera would not be compact at all, and that's the reason I don't bring my dslr with me at the first place. Thank you for the answers, you helped a lot!

    canon's image stabilization looked better because it was attached at the center of the ruler and the other two cameras were at the ends so there was more movement there. but panasonic's stabilization was the worst. i think sony's stabilization is even better than the canon's.

    • @ONSADE

      Thats one of the things I took in consideration while doing this video. I moved the cameras and the results were still the same. I know the ruler looks flimsy but its actually solid hard. That ruler is from the early 90's lol

      I did almost the same thing he did in that I use the Canon daily for work, but I bought the Panasonic and the Sony to use personally. After a year, I can tell you that I reach for the Panasonic 90% of the time. All three cameras are technological marvels and produce excellent results, but I prefer the feel of the Panny and it does not suffer overheating like the Sony, which was a major problem. Lastly, contrary to what I saw in this video, the Panasonic has slightly better low light performance than the other two. I don't know if he had a defective unit or a setting was off, but the Panny wins in low light. Also, the LX10 has by far the best display and menu system. When you factor in that the Panny cost ~$500 less than the Sony, it changes things quite a bit.

      Ambas cámaras son bastante similares en cuanto a función pero la LX100 es mas grande y tiene el "hot shoe" mount para accesorios. La LX10 es superior en condiciones de poca luz pero no es por mucho la ventaja. Todo depende de que tan portátil quieras la cámara. La LX10 te cabe en el bolsillo del pantalón, la LX100 no, es mas grande y pesada.

    You didn't mention how long they record for (without stopping) so I would love to know that.
    Great video man. I've been looking to replace my 60D and thought of these but I think these would be an addon and the price of $700+ seems like I might as well get a DSLR that does all this with another $1000 on top so I won't have to buy 2 cameras in the next few years. Below are sort of a videographer / photographers need going into the next 5 years and so far it's not to be found for anything under $3000.
    - 4K for future proof
    - 120 fps is sort of a must but not really. Software does wonders with even 30fps
    - Great in low light is a plus
    - Stabilization is a must (at least on a lens)
    - Flip or even better Swivel screen is beautiful but I find I can manage if I hook up an unused LCD with HDMI cable and same goes for Audio. No one uses plain camera audio.
    - Hot Shoe for flash is a must for photography. I'd hate to have 2 cameras (one for video and one for audio).
    - Interchangeable lenses would be best for photo and video especially if you have them (I have Canon EF lenses)
    The sony had the disturbing frame drop issues. That's a no no. From this list, Canon wins but still sucks.

    • @ONSADE
      @ONSADE 7 років тому

      Thanks, im glad it helped. The Canon makes a slight noise when trying to auto focus, the only way you would notice it is if recording you're in total silence.You can adjust this feature in the menu, you can turn it on or off and you can also turn off the continuous autofocus to prevent this. Nothing out of the ordinary really, its a great camera.

    • @ONSADE
      @ONSADE 6 років тому +1

      Hello, im glad the video helped you. 1080p works fine, it has it advantages, like better depth on field and better focusing in Canon cameras. Most of the videos you see on the cel phones are downgraded to 720p and 1080p, so you won't really take advantage of 4k for now. You can also record in 1080p and upscale to 4k in post. Some cameras record 1080p in a very high information format, so when its upscaled you can't even tell the difference. Some famous creators like Casey Neistat switched from 4k back to 1080p because you get better camera performance. Just make sure you get a good quality 1080p camera and you will be fine for years to come. Remember, its all about the story, not the gear ;)

      Anyway, I agree with you that story point. haha but I am still confused about those cameras.
      I was about to buying G7x Mark II because of your video and comment(tilt up/down display and COLOR! were great part. I am not good at color grading) but I found that there is noisy sound while focus moving… LX10 also bothers me because of stability while walking or moving on your video.
      I want to make videos, filled with specific place’s vibe, so both are quite important for me. haha I know it is hard to choose, but if you were me, which one would you choose? G7x MarkII with noisy sound or LX10 with shaking video.
      Thank you sooooooooooo much again!. Have a nice day:D

    • @ONSADE
      @ONSADE 6 років тому

      Go with the Canon for sure, it has the best stabilization I've ever tested on a camera that size. The Sony is a great camera but the battery life is not good, so you will have to buy a lot of them. The Panasonic LX10 is just not good, the stabilization is very bad. Im not married to any brand either, I own a Panasonic GH5, a Canon 70D and the Sony RX100 V right now. But to answer your question, if I had to choose a camera again, I would go with the Canon G7X MkII.

    Hola. Te escribo en español, ya que sé que lo hablas. No se si eres de origen puertorriqueño. Me ha encantado la comparativa con las tres Camaras. Yo también soy un amante de la fotografía. En especial de la fotografía nocturna. Acabo de comprar una Lumix LX10. Bueno en europea se comercializa como Lumix LX15. La verdad que estoy contenta con la compra. Tus vídeos me han servido de mucho. Si te apetece y dispones de tiempo, me gustaría que me dieras tu opinión final entre las tres Camaras. Con cuál te quedarías? Sony, canon o Panasonic?
    Bueno, espero tu respuesta y un saludo desde Las Islas Canarias. España.

      Saludos, me alegra que te haya gustado el video. Soy puertorriqueño y vivo en los Estados Unidos. Las tres cámaras de la comparación son buenísimas. Yo terminé por escoger la Sony por que era la mas que me convenía en cuanto a funciones. La LX10 fue la menos que me gustó personalmente pero no significa que sea mala, de hecho, mi cámara principal es una Panasonic GH5. La Sony tiene el mejor enfoque y el mejor "slow motion" el cual yo utilizo en mis videos, es por eso que escogí esa. La LX10 tiene mejor batería y prácticamente las mismas funciones. La Canon no tiene 4k, así que en lo personal, quedó descalificada. Tienes una de las mejores cámaras portátiles, quédate con esa.

    Great video. Thanks. I've had the Sony RX100 iv for 18 months (which I love and make fantastic 4k family video), but I usually upgrade every 2 years so I've been looking for a comparison like this. Although the Canon looks great here, the lack of 4K rules it out for me. The difference in my family videos between 1080p and 4k is night and day. I thought the Panasonic might be my next one, but I'm underwhelmed by it in the test. Think I'll stick with my current camera. Question...what I really want in a compact that has image stabilisation in 4k mode? Is there one? My Sony phone has IS in 4K, but I can't find a compact camera that can do the same!

    About the stabilisation for the LX10, i just found that information from the official website : * 5-Axis compensation works in video recording except for 4K video or high-speed video recording. High speed video is : 1920 x 1080 pixels, 30p (FHD: MP4) (Sensor Output is 120fps) maybe you used this capture mode for this review ?

    • @needspractice
      @needspractice 8 років тому

      Wow, thanks for checking that. That might explain why the Sony is now hands down the best compact. The Sony having the best stabilization for 1080p and the best pictures. That is enough for me to pick the Sony. I would love to have the touchscreen, but I don't love it that much. Plus once I set the settings, I am very highly unlikely to go back and change anything on a point and shoot. So the LX10 is out. GX7 is probably out to because I just do not want to pay for 2 year old technology, if they had a refresh by now I might be interested but the Sony RX100 V just came out. Mine as well get the latest and greatest when you are going to buy something.

    • @ONSADE
      @ONSADE 7 років тому +2

      The 5-Axis was turned on and the video was set to record at 1080p at 30fps (which should be the standard for every camera), the camera has a 120fps mode but that was off.
