The main reason is because these days managers and talent scouts from most NRL clubs are at all state carnivals watching and showing interest in the talented kids. 20 years ago a manager for a 15 year old was unheard of so the broncos basically got the pick of Queenslands most talented kids. They don't have that luxury in this day and age.

Qld had more heart and can re-group. We lost Munster in the 2nd & we dealt with it. Tedesco got nailed in the 3rd, Fittler did not select the troops he needed off the bench, and they struggled, should of had old mate from the storm,no doubt these are great players from all sides, but Qlders always seem to have more passion, see ya brad 🤣

As a queenslander I can't say they are the worst queensland team, but maybe the most inexperienced side.
