hip hop has been so diluted to feed to the masses. its pop music now. i really try to listen to new artist but im obsessed with that jazzy boom bap. tribe , pharcyde, mf, golden era stuff. and of course the underground shit living legends etc . my conclusion is that nothing can compare to that era. one of my fave newer artist would be freddie gibbs especially when he started working with madlib and the alchemist. also fuck migos and that bs. lil wack shit. thats not music.

salute to Fatlip, thats crazy a 21 yr old knows whats up, I notice some 90s babies actually are trying to study the origins, just like the 20 yr olds in the 90s studied the 70s.

Man I love Fatlip. But this convo is very interesting. Young supporting the OG, and the OG supporting the young!

I dont 100% agree.. at the end of the day.. the songs are made of lyrics.. lyrics LYRICS.
But I agree w Lip.. comparing Pharcyde to Temptations.. Temps win... so.. its generational to a degree (cuz lyrics speak to generations) at the end of the day if folk feel it.. you winning

Two year old comment, but the problem with what you said is I can appreciate good music from any generation. Mumble rap is lowest common denominator "McDonalds," like Thxsedays said.

Don’t get me wrong, post Malone definitely isn’t a rapper but like… how tf you let a dude like him hurt your feelings like that? 😂
