- We came down to check to see if the ice was thick enough for skating and shoot a few photos on Lake Minnewanka and heard this insane noise that seemed to go on forever
we nearly pooped our pants.
I remember hearing these sounds at a lake an hour outside of Edmonton around the same time in 2012 and i still think about it. it was really odd

I remember hearing similar sounds in Edmonton back then. I was new in town and thought it was huge tunnels being built underground. I asked multiple people if it was normal for them to hear loud echoes of train rails screeching from a distance but no answers
I’m in Edmonton right now and trying to figure out what the noise is I’m hearing tonight. All night on and off. Much more weird tuba like though. We thought it might be the train too but it keeps going on and on.

I've heard a similar noise 8 years ago in Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It come from the middle of the field, at night, and it only was there a few seconds. Before that, we all sence a few flashes of low intense, that made us feel like the time stoped just a second. At first we all thougt we were tired, but it was amazing.
Just heard the same sound about 10 minutes ago over Amherstview Ontario. Thought at first it was a train. But it sounds very different to typical trains and vehicles in the area
Notice the lack of animal activity when these sounds are heard. I heard these sounds a couple of years ago. Made my blood turn cold. it was very frightening.

That's stupid. Animals shy away from humans anyway. The fact that there are no birds or squirrels is absolutely meaningless.
It happened in Argentina yesterday, dogs barked. It is scary for them too. Maybe animals in the snow behave different.

I hear this noise Thursday at 2am in Banff Alberta. Woke us out of our sleep camping. We were terrified. It was constant, not as in and out like this but same noise. Terrifying.
I'm from Strathmore, Alberta. I heard the SAME noises mid November, 2013. NO DUFF. Freaked me out.
I am really interested in this phenomenon myself and I find these sounds haunting and beautiful, and the acoustics in this place where this video was recorded, with the mountains bouncing the sound around it sounds haunting on the video itself, one can only imagine what it was like hearing and experiencing them there for real .

I thought it was the old train bridge making noise in the middle of the night making noise. Bridge was over 4miles away...but that was the only explanation I had. Clear cold night. Silent other than the noise.
Around 0.38 seconds (it is extremely fast) but you see a huge Halo around the sun. That is sound extremely strange... I at first thought that maybe it was the echoing of the sounds of "Fracking" but it just went on and on so now I don't think so at all... That is pretty freaky!! Thanx for sharing!! There seems to be lots of these strange sounds in Alberta.

Is there any factories with big pipes or tunnels? It seems that there's quite strong wind going on. Could this be same effect you have when you put your lips on side of bottle's mouth and blow? Only in a lot of bigger scale.

We were snowshoeing out of Ghost Wilderness via the Minnewanka Patrol cabin last year after an ice climbing trip to go wait for our pickup at the Minnewanka parking lot. There were three young local guys with a ghetto blaster at the top of the summer boat launch ramp playing these sounds on the blaster loudly. One appeared to be taking pictures with his smartphone. I never thought anything of it until my spouse told me to check this video out, and then I checked 'My Trips' Google log and it was the same day. As well, you'll note there was no skating rink left on the ice anymore, the reason for that is the ice on Minnewanka was too rotten to skate on anymore.

When humans blow our wind through pipes, and things it makes a sound. ..Therefore, Why can't we imagine/perceive that when there is a wind at certain varying frequencies in the right physical surroundings, as its pipe that it blows through, that just ordinary nature's wind can make odd harmonics of sounds that way too.?

I heard this in the middle of the day in the mountains near Hunter, TN. Only lasted about 30 seconds.

That is the same sound as war of the worlds. It's a recording. Some of the ones out there in the world I cannot explain but this one is pretty easy to debunk.

There are a lot of theories going around. Natural, supernatural, extraterrestrial, government made.
I believe they are just sounds coming from the Earth. It is a fact that the planet does produce sounds at different frequencies. These sounds are at a frequency that a select few can hear. Only 2% of people can hear them. Unfortunately I’m in the majority who can’t hear them. Or at least never heard them before.

I did some checking online and on that day a giant sunspot group produced a massive solar flare which sent a cloud of charged particles directly towards Earth. I did some checking on the other dates and locations that I've seen on UA-cam and I found the same thing nearly every time - major solar activity on those days....I wonder if the solar flares have anything to do with the sounds?????

Guys stop this is a speaker playing a loud audio file. You can tell because when he moves the camera around the noise gets louder in one spot. That's because it's facing the speaker. This is the only claim of weird sounds in Alberta which makes it even more fishier xD

Ive heard these EXACT sounds used in some horror games. I cant recall when said games were made, so I cant be sure if they used this sound or you used theirs, but its worth noting.
Totally wild guess, but could it be the ice in the lake shifting together? It sounds like when you skip a stone across a frozen pond but much slower, lower, and on a larger scale

there's absolutely no way that's an animal, and it's just too loud and scattered to be a piece of human machinery, unless there's a speaker nearby playing some type of faulty test siren. or who knows, maybe some local bears or mountain lions, maybe even cougars decided to make a homemade goat horn and blow into it

Saying I believe you (and I'm having some doubt) Is there perhaps an old mine in those mountains? Like a disused mill or something? That could be the wind moving some old equipment. You can look up videos of the wind turning old disused carsoules that make the most horrible sounds from the rust.
The movie Pacific rim spun off a campaign of people dubbing these sounds into their videos. Pacific rim even had their own viral campaign leading up to the release of the movie. They consisted of "home videos" with these types of strange sounds.

I may not be religious, nor in anyway a believer but these sounds are haunting. Yet beautiful, there are things, sounds in this world and universe that we try to debunk with logic and biological compnants. However to a point you have to admit, some things are hard to explain. Hard to comprehend, if this is a sign of some sort of higher being of our end. Then it is. Simply put. I find this to be a sort of "hymn" something we'd hear as we all eventually are dying out, but all some of us could do is sit by the shore or wherever you are. And listen to the hymn before it all becomes nothingness. Some things in this world we will never understand nor know. And thats why its so terrifying.
But that same clicking sound goes on at all different times... its been recorded all over the world... weird shit mang!
