i keep watching all these return home videos and im here cryin! me and your son, ma'am, are the same rank and i can not imagine being deployed yet! this one touched me the for the simple fact he is an A1C... or was in this vid! congrads!
i am crying so hard because my big brother is in the air force as well. he hasn't been deployed yet, he's in tech school, but i haven't seen in 4 months, and i probably won't see him for 3 more. the problem is, my birthday is coming up and he won't be here for it. i only wish this could happen for me. my big brother is my everything. i love him so much. so happy for this little sister though :) God bless y'all!
Yes he is still an A1C, and should (by my calculations) rank up b/w this coming Oct and next April. Many of his SF buddies have already completed their first deployment and they haven't been in two years yet. He is looking forward to a second deployment early next year. Good luck in your career, Airman, and God Bless you for your service!
Germany isn't a deployment location, its a duty station, which means he'll be stationed there for four years but should have leave time (vacation) each year. Hopefully he'll be able to come home on leave and you'll be able to see him soon. Hang in there Little AF Sister...your support is what will get him through the hard days of being away.
Hang in there! He hasn't been home for a birthday since 2010, and the last Christmas he was home was 2009. Its tough being in the Air Force family, but remember, he loves you and that's why he's gone. He's protecting our freedom. It will get easier with time. It was 6 months before he came home the first time, and then didn't come home for a another year later. We use Skype when we can so the girls can see their brothers face. Try using Skype if you can. ((hugs)) to you Air Force Sister!
My brother as well is in Tech School. He is going to be deployed in a month to Germany. He is my most favorite person and he is my best friend. I love him soo much! I haven't seen him since last summer. And won't see him for a 4 years.. I'm hoping maybe.. One day he will come visit me like this..
My son was there for Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2010. Do a Google search for Operation Homecooking. My son was adopted by a local family for Thanksgiving and got to spend the day off base. Christmas wasn't bad either. He got to go shopping at the BX and sent home tons of AF stuff for his sisters and I. Since this was his first job, it was really special for him to be able to get us gifts for Christmas. That's the neat part about being there for the holidays.
Good luck at BMT! And God Bless!! Remember...the first few weeks will be rough, but don't let it break you. The hardest part will be the smell of Burger King from your dorm room, lol. This is the best time of year in San Antonio...not too cold yet. :-)
Thanks! :) Oh man, the smell of Burger King might break me, lol...and yeah, Texas will still be all right in the winter. I'm in BMT for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years XD
I've heard about the Homecooking before. It sounds like it would be nice to be able to do. For Christmas, though, I'm supposed to be in BEAST, so I probably won't get to do any shopping :\ But my mother will have access to my money so she can get gifts from me for my siblings and all.
thank you for serving sir, we appreciate what you have done for the USA
So sweet, i'm crying too!!

Stamping her feet saying "noone told me he was coming home." Priceless.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Congrats on your son coming home as well.
From a fellow Airman about to go to basic, thank you!

He did, right afterward. Anything else you can find wrong with an Airman who had just returned home from the Middle East??
