OMG! I know Akina front and back like the palm of my hand and this is the real deal! It has the original straight, the inital left then the inital right before the first hairpin, ETC. Thanks for uploading this!
not really. depends on what tires i use and if i take the racing trans off and throw the T-5 World Class trans back on, and (don't know if it's important) if i remove the Detroit lockers for the LSD Diff.
Wow...i was amazed by the video u took...may i know how do i get there if i am going from Tokyo? I am heading off to Tokyo next month. Thank you. cheers.
For some reason seeing the course for real, I want to get in my Lancia Delta and try to kick some ass on it. Thanks for the slow drive btw, this way I can easily check out the road and engrave it into memory (although I probably will never drive there T_T )
wow, Akina looks exactly like the Grouse mountain road we have here... except nobody can ever drift at night because there's deer and animals crossing the road...
U have to take the Kanetsu Expressway at the noth-western gate of Ueno and drive about 100km 'til the Maebashi/Shibukawa exit. Then search for the Haruna Lake and you're there!! Next Month??? Maybe you'll find a lot of snow out there......there was some even in April!
Just for my own benefit, I'd like to make it my first entry in my bucket list to go to all the passes from Initial D in real life. And go at night to drive a little recklessly to get into the zone...if I crash, it'll be for nothing. But at least I'll have gone there! XD
meh, it's all in when you start and stop it, straight aways are the best spot for it, and possibly right when you are about to finish the exit of a turn is a good place to start it. i wouldn't say let more than a couple second though, the 0 to 60 is 1.8 seconds and you'd lose traction(unless you have the drag slicks on it)
Don't understood what you mean, but this place is REAL......many people was there with camera taking pictures and video! It was so wonderful with the snow falling over us......
Am I the only one that founds pretty funny the speed of the car and the music together and the fact that Takumi passes it at 100+ Km/h and this car goes at about 30Km/h? And he even catches a wagon that goes slowlier XDDD
The "gutter run" relies on basic physics. It is technically possible. It requires the gutter to be no more then 3/4 the rubber hight from ground to rim. and requires that the ground clearance be high enough that the car dosnt bottom out. the gutter has to have a basically smooth inner surface with no sharp edges to cut the tire.. The center of gravity has to be low enough and the proper entry and exit points are essential as to not ruin the suspension. In short I do not recommend it. drive safe.
1. Its so that you can see the resemblance 2.thats a prius hes driving you cant just push a prius its a hybrid, not an SA 310 or some other engine car you can push 3. you want to be intretained? go buy your tickets and head to japan, be my guest
@SKYHIGHGIRL101 mt haruna is the akina mt, there isnt actaully a mt akina its mt haruna and it has a lake called lake haruna. thats about all the two have in direct common other than being located in the gunma prefecture. why is it so hard for people to grasp what a fictional anime is? oh but dont mind me im just enjoying my tofu that was delivered to me by a young boy in a corolla haha
Wich one you want to know?? However they are all songs from the anime, you can find them on the original soundtrack......I don't remember the name now, but I can search it for you, let me know wich do you like....
Sorry, another edit: also got a city and village near there that starts with a S (Shibukawa City and Shinto Village), maybe from where Tak and them is from
Haha no just a racer man, thats all. And no prob. But exactly, specs and control tend to be very personal. Racers are always talking crap about FFs but i've witnessed some FFs dust crazy FRs before because of handling experience alone. That's exactly what makes racing cool, it's fun to see each person's connection to each spec and how they control and manipulate it.. You can watch two people in the same car and the race could be tense or a dusting. You never know. lol.
Exactly. I mean you could have the best car ever, but if you can't control it or handle it well, then it's useless. A car's specs really come into play when two people that know exactly what they are doing are up against one another.
umm i think ur just way to drawn by the anime. how many parts of mt akina did they even show in the anime? they loop the same scenes over and over again. they only took small portions of the course.
... 0.0 are you god? seriously, no one gets that these days. thanks man for knowing what makes a racer good. the driver and the cars specs have to line up. it could be a very good car but if you are not used to a certain spec, you'll suck. it's all about your skills and what you best at controlling, which is what makes racing so cool cause it's very unique to each person.
This makes me wonder how many Initial D fans have gone over there racing or just driving. O_O I wouldn't be able to stop myself from running down that track at high speeds if I got there.
I...need...to...move...to Gunma... O///O I think my nose is bleeding.. Looking at the mountain is better than nudey videos [Insert Itsuki saying "How?!"]
@Goldfishhhhhhhhhh i don't i have all the series available on dvd in Australia and the live action movie, Side note: found a really good english dub of the live action on isohunt!
Rumor has it that at 4am the ghost of Akina shows up in a Panda Trueno.
When in reality, it was a tofu delivery driver
Such a ferocious battle against that van
LOL
I wonder if Initial D's fame has caused the authorities to take steps to stop fans from replicating Takumi's exploits on this road.
I actually use the gutter run on way down from mountain I live on when it's slippery to avoid sliding.
they did theres hella speed bumps now
Nobody.
UA-cam: let's recommend this to someone after 12 years.
OMG! I know Akina front and back like the palm of my hand and this is the real deal! It has the original straight, the inital left then the inital right before the first hairpin, ETC. Thanks for uploading this!
I'm not sure why everyone here doesn't get what you did here, however I appreciate you taking us through the course.
of course it is!!!! we made 190Km from Ueno-Tokyo to reach this wonderful location.....and we found the snow fallin' upon us!!!
this is freakin' cool, even the old tower and the road sidings are there at the top, i wanna go there someday...
not really. depends on what tires i use and if i take the racing trans off and throw the T-5 World Class trans back on, and (don't know if it's important) if i remove the Detroit lockers for the LSD Diff.
da un hiru battoru! omg hes catching up with the van! now the downhill specialist shows his true skills!
Wow...i was amazed by the video u took...may i know how do i get there if i am going from Tokyo?
I am heading off to Tokyo next month.
Thank you. cheers.
That was awesome! Love the video
For some reason seeing the course for real, I want to get in my Lancia Delta and try to kick some ass on it.
Thanks for the slow drive btw, this way I can easily check out the road and engrave it into memory (although I probably will never drive there T_T )
Apparently there are speedbumps all over Haruna, probably from Initial D fans crashing their AE86s all over it.
wow, Akina looks exactly like the Grouse mountain road we have here... except nobody can ever drift at night because there's deer and animals crossing the road...
race starts at 4:20
What a coincidence
OOOOOOHHH.... POR DIOS Q BUENOOOOOO..... CASI LLORO.... DESEARIA ESTAR ALLI.... Q BUEN VIDEO..
Funny, I thought they had said there were speed bumps, but I don't see any..
remember, he alternates between the '86 and the blue impreza

just like myogi, and it really is a beautiful formation as well
i rebuilt the whole mustang myself. it will run fine on this course, also you have to know how to use the trans on it. it's also a 93, not a 60's.
i hope while he was driving there...Takumi and Bunta Fujiwara are racin' and driftin'
the place in the first second of this vid make me got goosebump..XD
meh, it's all in when you start and stop it, straight aways are the best spot for it, and possibly right when you are about to finish the exit of a turn is a good place to start it. i wouldn't say let more than a couple second though, the 0 to 60 is 1.8 seconds and you'd lose traction(unless you have the drag slicks on it)
curious do people even drift on mt haruna
Initial music is very useful against stress.
we all know the AE86 doesn't come out till early morning. He has tofu to deliver!
does the gutter move actually work?? or does ur car flip when u do it??
i'd love to see how my old Mustang would run on these roads. 700 HP(890 to 920 with NOS) and it only weighs about 1.5 tons.
the road looks like it could get really nasty really quickly given the weather. still looks like it'd be a lot of fun to drive thou.
wow! it must be wonderful driving that place
its not a 240 in japan... its a Silvia or 180sx. I live in Japan at the moment. Ill ride on it for sure.. just because lol..
no, its a public road so races are illegal just like everywhere else. it is clearly in japan in akina prefecture.
Cool! I wish they'd have been talking through it too.
wow, very impressing, that the akina pass is real.
lol, yeah. thanks dude. nice talking to ya. keep me upto date on stuff, cause this is fun stuff.
Don't understood what you mean, but this place is REAL......many people was there with camera taking pictures and video! It was so wonderful with the snow falling over us......
Takumi didn't have any problem going downhill in the snow.
Am I the only one that founds pretty funny the speed of the car and the music together and the fact that Takumi passes it at 100+ Km/h and this car goes at about 30Km/h? And he even catches a wagon that goes slowlier XDDD
so perfect surface like the anime!!
Uhhhhhh....... Where's the skating at fooot of mt.akina?
That was only the first song, was that the one you wanted or did you want to know all of them?

amazing drifts i must say
they're going so fast that it is slowing down time making it look like they're going stupidly slow XD
u use a myvi? or wat?
coz, i also have a myvi
BUT, im in Malaysia, im not malay
Don't Stop The Music - Lou Grant
what city's or towns is in that area so i can check it out on Google maps! Initial D FTW!
where do they get the coffee everytime they finish playing on the touge?
Edit: found it, it also got Lake Akina WOOT!!! would love to travel there some day and do the down hill myself...in a JDM 86 of course!
Does this mountain have the infamous 'drift bumps' ?
I love running in the 90s song.
1. Its so that you can see the resemblance
2.thats a prius hes driving you cant just push a prius its a hybrid, not an SA 310 or some other engine car you can push
3. you want to be intretained? go buy your tickets and head to japan, be my guest
Looks cold.
I only live about an hour from Haruna and Akagi.

I believe that's the speed limit 40Kph which I "think" is about 25-30Mph
Why would I ask where he is if I didn't know what it means?
Sorry, another edit: also got a city and village near there that starts with a S (Shibukawa City and Shinto Village), maybe from where Tak and them is from
Geus wich one it would be if u look at those gutters
Looks like it could work for real as some sort of road camber like rally drivers use
Safe driving is good driving, but with all the eurobeat songs playing and driving on Mount Haruna, I was expecting the driver to gas it.
where the hell is this?!!?
i know is on japan but what part? i need to really go there!!
tu tecnica antiderrape a 45km/h es espectacular, la envidia de takeshi, un ejemplo a seguir xD
Can't answer that, but if you look at the starting line area on Google Maps there are a metric fuckton of skidmarks in the pulloff areas.
Haha no just a racer man, thats all. And no prob. But exactly, specs and control tend to be very personal. Whoa, i've seen that a hundred times in the game!
wow....what an epic place...there must be some real races too....
damn this is just how japan rules!! omg they're doin downhill ..i can remember the turns!! haha my fav map in initial d games :D
in shitty weather like this driving recklessly would be even more of a bad idea then driving recklessly under good conditions.
tbh i love this soundtrack ^_^ <
Takumi would just use these speedbumps to gain more speed!
theres a bunch of car sharing the same box...toyota passo..daihatsu sirion..toyota sirion...etc..etc
LOOK AT HIM GO ...OOH WAIT!! THE LAST 5 HAIR PIN TURNS!!
what mountain was that again?
akina is actually named haruna in real life tho.
akagi, myogi, etc is real as it is
it just wouldnt be fun going there knowing i wont get to see takumi and the others racing there :'(
Wow, just like in the Anime!
Dont Stop The Music
It would have been funny if Takumi appeard and Drift in the corners like a Ghost
This makes me wonder how many Initial D fans have gone over there racing or just driving. O_O
I wouldn't be able to stop myself from running down that track at high speeds if I got there.
did you all eat tofu at the hotel
do they let u race there?lol almost no tight turns
@thinkasshole ever watch initial d? this is music from the soundtrack
oh yeah!
ariund there there's a large city called Shibukawa and a smaller one called Maebashi!!
That what i most like initial d . It track and car is most true .
I...need...to...move...to Gunma... O///O I think my nose is bleeding.. Looking at the mountain is better than nudey videos [Insert Itsuki saying "How?!"]
dont stop the music tonight!!!!
Your going what 5 mph? If I had the chance to go to Akina with my ae86 I would go all out lol! Good video though.
So just like initial d this road is hella dark!
@Goldfishhhhhhhhhh i don't i have all the series available on dvd in Australia and the live action movie, Side note: found a really good english dub of the live action on isohunt!
just skipping through the video but i got to 6:54 isnt that where takumi passed keisukei?
Cool!!!
all mountain passes in the movie initial D does exists in real life the author really want it to be real as possible
