In last 150 years humans have made so much development in science and technology which was not done in centuries. Even past civilizations show only pyramids, with not much technology in them. How did humans made latest computers, flying machines so quickly?
My cousins' home is somewhere in the 3000 square feet range, and I wouldn't consider it a mansion. The only true mini-mansions are the dollhouses owned by some very lucky (and wealthy) fans of miniatures, and I sure can't afford one.
Most of these are modern-art monstrosities to me; I'm one of the people who thinks the Louvre's glass entry pyramid is too much of a jarring contrast with the beautiful centuries-old buildings and courtyard. A lot of these are just a blight on the landscape, indigenous tribute or not. (Though the interiors of those Bolivian buildings score in originality of design and are vibrant enough to pull anyone out of a funk.) The only home I like is the one in Joshua Tree, because the architect truly succeeded in an inconspicuous fit with the desert landscape. And the owners seem intent on keeping it that way.
